      Let's face facts, that's obviously a lie.

Those of us who really have had many Fords & Holdens over the years know that aside from a couple of models with a few quirks, they've both been building reliable, solid cars for literally decades.

Seriously, some of the BS you adolescents on OzB come out with trying to sound hip & cool is just embarrassing…

My FJ Holden is still going strong !!!

        • +2

Well, my uncle's FX absolutely is too! :)

      • What crap. The $#!t Ford Australia have been dishing up for the last 2 decades is nigh on laughable.
Likewise, Holden have released some very average cars over the years too.
Oh, and I can definitely speak from experience as I've had 6 different Falcons over that time as company cars. Yeah they're big, and a couple have been pretty quick… but apart from being free, there's not too many nice things I can say about them.
As for the Commodore, I've only owned 4 but driven enough. And they can be very hit and miss too. I think Holden finally got it close to perfect with the VF. But alas, it's too little too late!
It'll be a shame to lose some home grown production, but putting brand loyalties aside… most of the Asian imports shit on them for value for money, creature comforts, and quality of build!

        • I miss the Falcons & Commies from our fleet, I always found both excellent to drive, and we never had a lick of trouble with them; nor did I with the several I've personally owned; I don't think you'd know a good car if it ran over you bro…

I'll bet you can't name the multiple models with these supposed problems over the span of the last 20 years you've cited…

        • @StewBalls:
First one I'll mention, and I dare you try refute it, the AU on 4.0L heads? I have a few mates that made a living just from that one problem alone.
Oil pick up / supply problems in the V6s, as well as the rear main leaks.
People have written complete joke books about drinking the 'wine' from a Ford diff.
Both manufacturers have been plagued with electrical issues; the windows and mirrors in the Conmodore; Falcons running out of petrol with anywhere from 40-80km on Distance to Empty.
Falcons needing to be shimmed because the front end was so far out… new from the line!
Falcon XR models seat bolstering, as well as the overall crappy dated feel of the interior.

But alas, even though I spent 24 years in the industry, and with probably 2/3 of my business being the aforementioned cars, I know I'm wasting my time replying to someone that's never owned or driven a vehicle beyond those.

        • @Snoop: Falcon has never had a V6. :)

        • @TransportPosters:
Thanks, good point. Except I was obviously referring to Commodores. For which I've owned a couple… including my current LFX.

  • Who the hell would put a poster of a Ford up?

    • +2

What would put up a poster of?

    • +1

      Bogans.

    • +10

Probably sounded really cool in your head, right…

      • the people in my head told me to write it

        • +6

They should have also told you that Ford isn't actually going anywhere…they're just deleting the Falcon line…

  • Possible to price-match from local Ford dealer for getting a new Falcon 20% off???

    • You should be able to negotiate close to 20% off anyway…

      • It seems RRP is always misleading..

  • Very cool - I'm keen to buy this one http://www.uniquecarposters.com/ford-falcon-gt-and-fpv-gt-ev… for a colleague.

    • When you click on the shipping rates, it says

      404 Page Not Found
We looked and looked everywhere for you, but could not find the page you were looking for.

      • Thanks for pointing that out, I've fixed the link.

@jv: Can you contact me through my website please? I cannot work out how to send you a PM on here.

        • @TransportPosters:

          I was just kidding… :)

          I test for free…

  • -2

*sniff Another one bites the dust.

    Literally.
  • Oh what a feeling

    • Toyota are also pulling out next year…

  • My thanks to all those who purchased over the weekend and helped keep the Falcon alive in our hearts.

Don't forget part 2 of Brock on Ten tonight, part 1 has been great (although it seems his close friends said it was ridiculous)! Tonight's episode should show more about his modified Commodore business operations which I've always found interesting.

Here's a link to my HDT Commodore / Calais / Statesman technical spec chart poster if anyone's interested:
