Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 for $43 at Harvey Norman Back to School and Work Catalogue

70

Bought this laser desktop 4000 yesterday. The original price was $129.95. Catalogue price is $78 minus $35 MS cash back. I think it's a good deal for such a great wireless keyboard and mouse cost $43.

The link to the catalogue is at http://www.harveynorman.com.au/site/01/flash/catalogues/view…

  • hah, I just bought this today as well. Saw it in the catalogue too.

    • is the handrest on the keyboard plastic or some kinda soft leathery material?

      • I think it's a rubber and a bit soft, not the hard Plastic handrest.

        • Thanks mate, I think I'll buy one then :)

  • good price, the item next to it in the catalouge I think is a mistake.

It says its the desktop 700 for $39 but the picture is for the desktop 1000.

Also in catalouge at good price is HP dvd 50 disk pack at $15, same thing at Officeworks is $50.

    • I'll have to get some more, i bought some last time HN was welling HP DVD Rs for $15 and they are so far the best quality DVDs i've bought and i regretted not buying more.

      Thanks for pointing that out.

  • How long does the mouse last for before you need to change batteries on this?

    • According to the information on the box, on average it will last for about 6+ months.

Well since i just got it, i gotta wait till the next time for me to change the batteries.

  • Proper link is actually

I was all hyped as my old logitech MouseMan optical mouse has seen better days (and with 1.5 to 2 week battery life) but the keyboard sucks the big one with the dumb layout of the insert, home, pageup, del, end, page down (has the double height del key 5 key block instead of the regular 6 block)

    • Yeah somehow the direct link cannot be shown correctly.
Will put the direct link onto this post.

      Cheers

  • HN is also selling 1G USB Memory Stick for $9.95 (Toshiba and Kingston), and 4G for $42.~ The LG 50x DVD-R is also on sale~ They are reduced from $39.95 to $15. By the way, that's the HN in QV melb i'm talking about.~ Not sure whether other HN have the same offer.~

  • My brother has this, no wonder they are selling it cheap- it's a piece of S##T. The keyboard layout is pretty bad if you play games and the mouse constantly has connectivity issues.

  • Not according to this review: http://techgage.com/article/microsoft_wireless_laser_desktop…

No connection issues - and overall a nice package

  • thinking to get this one too, anyone has this? any more reviews?

  • Just received my cashback yesterday … took more than 3 months .. but well … at least it's in my account now … :)
