Seems very expensive for a dashcam

      Hi JV,

      Indeed the Thinkware is an expensive camera but it's important to note it has some really great features such as;

      Night vision mode
      Time lapse Mode
      Supports a rear 1080p camera
      Road safety warning system
      Dual Save mode
      Sony Exmor CMOS 2.19MP Sensor
      Built in GPS
      and much more!

There are definitely cheaper dashcams available (we sell those to!) but for some people the extra features and quality is worth the price!

  • How much?! JV's right it might be the best that money can buy but you can also get a reasonably good one for $50

    • $470 delivered for the 16GB camera.

  • You can get the 2ch version on ebay from UK for $440 including shipping

    • We provide full local warranty and support backed by the manufacturer / official distributor.

      • official distributor in Australia is:

        https://tdj.com.au/

        • Yes and we buy directly from TDJ.

You could buy an iPhone SE for the same price. And it would have better specs.

Edit: yes I realise an iPhone isn't a dash cam.

The main problem with a $500 dash-cam is you lose $500 if someone breaks in and steals it.

Indeed, one might say having a $500 dash-cam may significantly increase your chances of being broken into (not to mention the damage to your vehicle).

Alternately, you could choose to remove it every time you park the car, but we all know that means you'll never use it.

Does make make budget cams look comparatively appealing.

I've had my $500+ Blackvue dash cam sitting on my windscreen (back and front) for most of the year so far and no break ins or attempted break ins. I live in a pretty 'ghetto' area too…

    • My sleazy brother told me i was asking for trouble leaving coins visible in my console. I wouldn't risk leaving anything valuable on view in my car. Don't know how well they would handle the extreme U.V we get in Cairns also.

$470? You're insane if you think that these will sell.

  • Vifio A119 support 1440p which is better than 1080 for $110 with GPS or get xiaomi dash cam for ~$70
Tomtom has dashcam for around $300 with very good reviews on Amazon

  • I have just recently installed this dashcam last weekend. Been comparing this with heaps of other brands like Black Vue 650 which is the top seller.

This is by far the only cam that offers front and rear full HD. The parking mode comes with continuos recording or time lapse. It can be set to record 9 / 12 /48 hours and depending on the power cut off.

The super night mode helps to get the vision clear at night. Having this also doesn't require Power Magic Pro. At this price is cheaper than the Blackvue 650s.

  • I have the previous version of this dashcam, F750, and I'm very happy with its build and video quality. I bought it last year just before the manufacturer jacked up the prices due to its popularity so I got a great deal (about $300 for the dual cam version). My only complaint is I can't find a microSDXC card big enough to continuously record for an entire day!

    • I've loaded a 128GB card in my 770. Works like a charm

      • Yeah I'm using a 200GB card, but that's only enough for about 9 hours of footage. (I didn't bother hooking up the "acc" wire since I didn't want to splice into wires, so I just disabled parking mode and let it record all the time.)

  • This seems very much like a rebrand of the A118C (or whatever it itself is a rebrand of)?
    Three times the price!
