        Same! :D

    • +5

Yeah I heard that since the SSD is purchased from Spain you can only store Spanish stuff on it.

      • +2

Apparently though you can trick the SSD into storing anything if you wear a matador's hat and say "copiar este" in a spanish accent.

      • +6

Yeah I heard that too…well I read it on a Spanish site. It also takes siestas at midday everyday. Increases SSD lifespan

      • Don't store movies on it, they will automatically be dubbed to Spanish with English subtitles.

    • +1

Google translate, mate. It's worth it for the bargain.
Aside from that, the site is exactly the same as other Amazon sites so you can probably feel your way around.

    • It's ridiculous a site targeted towards Spanish speakers would be written in Spanish.

      Absolutely shocking.

I am still waiting for the last deal from amazon.de to arrive :(
I wish we are getting some amazing deal from amazon Australia but so far just ebook and apps.

    • +2

Chances are if you did get it, it'd still be sitting in the box

      • Not this time. My 1TB Samsung HD died 2 weeks ago. It was making clicky noise for a few weeks and I have found a few S.M.A.R.T errors. I have managed to back up the drive before it failed to boot. The unusual thing was it had affected my front USB ports in a wear way. When I have removed the defective HD, the front USB ports all working perfectly again. I cannot explains this other than it may have flooded the data bus with error codes.

        • +6

Yeah defs get this drive! Coz it's from Spain it only understands error codes in Spanish…since your in Australia the error codes are in English so it'll just ignore it and your USBs will be sweet! I'm not sure it's the same deal for the German drives. They're pretty good at speaking English in Germany so I think the drives are like multilingual and shit.

I'll pour a 40oz on the curb for your dead Samsung homes. Hope your German reinforcements come soon!

Clicking noises can only come from a traditional spinning platter disk. The SSD in this deal has no moving parts. All platter disks are at risk from crashing with age.

        • +3

The only clicking noises you will get from the advertised SSD is the sound of castanets.

        • USB does whacky shit #133.

One time I restarted my computer and it went to a blank screen after POST. After 12 hours of swearing and other tantum behavior I removed a USB thumb drive that wasn't being booted and my computer booted.

Tried to recreate it, couldn't. USB worked like usual.

          WTF USB? WTF!?

          @Diji1:
          U Serious Bro?

        • @Diji1: Happens to me all the time. I thin it is because the USB drive has been used to install OS in the past. Can't be bothered to do anything, just unplug and boot.

        • @debo:

Yes, it is a mechanical hdd with platters. I used it to backup my files.

        • yeah, platter drives seem to die most if they are used as your torrent (non copyrighted material) drives for downloads ……. because the heads park often as the data trickles down it wears them out quick ….. I'm thinking of using SSD for torrents then copy to spindle.

When my WD dies which was my download drive I checked how often the heads had parked, and it had just barely exceeded the specs ….. possibly not an issue if you are using a NAS drive for downloads as heads don't park as frequently.

        • @zealmax: easy to fix this issue

press windows key + r to open the run dialog then type diskpart & hit enter
type list disk & hit enter
look for the one that is the size of your USB drive
for instance if the usb drive is disk 3
type select disk 3 & hit enter
type select partition 1 & hit enter
          type inactive & hit enter

          job done

      • mine finally arrived and installed it the same night, cloned windows 10 with Easeus , enlarged partition …. easy.

        • I just use Windows backup then restore it onto the SSD then expand the volume. Does the same and it is free.

    • I just got mine a couple days ago. Just made a system image backup and about to restore on the new drive :D
I hope yours comes in soon!

my 960 GB arrived this week from Amazon Europe, took 2 weeks, but very nice drive at a cheap price and installed it the night it arrived. Not sure why people would still be buying small drives at these prices and considering the effort to clone and install, how often do you want to do that.

  • +2

Price has gone up? Shows about 200 Euro after VAT removal now?

    • Appears to be the case

      • Ordered one last from .de during the last deal but Amazon cancelled my order. They wouldn't let me reorder at the same price but agreed to give me free shipping on my next order.

Missed out on this deal by about 20 minutes I think.

Hopefully another deal comes up again soon. Otherwise I'm gonna buy a sandbag with the free shipping and make Amazon regret cancelling my order.
