Recently purchased an item from OzStock. OzStock used the cheapest form of packaging possible. The envelope they used to pack the item arrived half opened (the envelope was too small to fit the item properly). I was charged $5 for the postage. They could have used a padded bag and still make a profit on the postage. The item… well… that's another story on its own.

    Thought I share my experience…

I actually had a simialar experience where the product was sent in just the envelope and the product was damaged, i commented like you and they asked me to send an email i did and the product was sent again in slightly better packaging.

In the end i was happy, i hope they do the same for you try and email them.

    • you were likely charged $5 for postage AND handling, not just postage.

      • Exactly.
Packing something up isnt exactly a 5 second job

    • Because a padded bag would have then made the postage more expensive.

It likely would have changed the postage rate from a letter to a parcel making the postage cost more.

  • Sounds like Ozstock should at the very least refund you for the postage. Nothing annoys me more than paying for postage and getting something that costs no where near that amount in the post.

not that this product wont do anything bigger than a 2gig SD card as its not SDHC compliant …

kinda pointless as most SD cards these days are over 2gig

neutral vote for me based on this

Agree. Without SDHC support, this thing is nothing more than a dust collection point for the PC!

    • Thanks, I have added a note to the description advising people of this

  • I've found they have dodgy products but good customer service

  • where does it say it doesn't support sdhc?

    • 3.5” All In One Internal Add On USB2.0 Multi Card Reader - Reads almost all popular memory cards such as SD, MMC, CF, Memory Stick(MS) etc.

^— the fact it doesnt list SDHC for compatible types .. if it did support SDHC, it would be mentioned as this would be a major selling point for it :)

      • Ah crap, bought one and did not even think that SDHC needed support as I need one of these in my case.
I this is true "which is likely" then this is a waste of money".

Will let you know when I get the item.

It most likely will support SDHC. It is hard to find readers not supporting SHDC nowadays. I would be more interested to know the speed of the reader. I have some internal memory card readers… but I stopped using them due to the speed being too slow (well, I did get them quite cheap).

Hopefully, you'll get a good one.

Based on my earlier experience with them, I will be very reluctant to purchase any more item from them (the item I purchased… I paid for the item as well as the postage… so it wasn't a freebie… the overall experience was worse than buying items from Hong Kong eBay sellers… but.. that's just my experience). I suppose I can e-mail and complain… but I'd rather spend my time on more constructive stuff and avoid buying more items from them. Besides, the range of the transmitter I bought was so poor that I don't want to even get a replacement (I am planning to chuck the item I bought from them into the bin).

Some SD card readers provide decent speed whereas some only manage 3M/sec (read speed - quite painful to use).

@netsurfer: The time you've spent typing up this post would be the same as sending an email to them and if would at least give the retailer a chance to address any concerns you had. You may have had a bad experience turned into a postive one and they would have gotten some valuable feedback.

          • @netsurfer:

the overall experience was worse than buying items from Hong Kong eBay sellers

That's probably because postage from HK to AU is cheaper than domestic postage in Australia.

Post from HK for a small item is about $3 plus packaging materials
The same item posted domestically is $5.60 (more for a regional area) plus packaging materials

So your item got broken in the post, get over it, crap happens.
Email them so they can better their service and replace the item for you.

If your item was sent with eParcel then it will have insurance for postal damage too.

  • speaking of proper postage and eparcel, 2 weeks ago when COTD gave away those free Parker gel pens they sent them eparcel which required me to sign for it, if they can do it for free, these guys should do it too especially if you are paying the postage!

  • I also have some poor experiences in buying ebay. Therefore, personally I perfer to buy in online stores than ebay oversea sellers.

  • missed out :(

    seemed good
