90

Hi, so being looking to replace my dashlane account, once the trial premium finished no more syncing between devices and no lifetime subscription :(
Was using avast passwords free, which does syncing between accounts but no Multifactor Authentication Method. Sticky Pass does have this :)

rated 5th on this website that compares different password management software.

So gave sticky pass a go a month ago and so far so good, and came across this sale.
Jumped on it, its $29.99USD (~$40AUD) down from $149.99USD for life sub

their info for 1password is not accurate - 1password has supported 2fa for a while now (or as toptenreviews calls it, "Multifactor Authentication Method").

also, do you really need your software to run on android, macos, ios, windows, windows phone, and linux all at once? Because points are awarded for that.

    • 1password is 7th and LastPass is 2nd? Even after lastpass got hacked? Yeaaaah not going to take this comparison seriously.

I'd rather trust lastpass whom was hacked and notified everyone (and also had sufficient encryption/salts/hashing to prevent use of the stolen information). You only needed to change your master password anyway.

Every service is vulnerable to hacking - its how they act to prevent damage should a hack occur, monitor and respond to such attacks that matters.

If anything the hack raises my confidence in lastpass.

  • Targetted? shows US$99.99 limited offer to me

@rodie: yeah, was just checking it out, i already uses lastpass, have for years.

        • @Trantor: nice!! have they got life sub? lol im a tight arse

        • +1

@rodie: unfortunately no, but at $12 a year, its fine by me lol

        • +1

          @rodie:

$12 a year is arguable cheaper than paying $40 upfront now…

How do they make money on a lifetime subscription model without continually recruiting more customers… seems a bit risky

@Trantor: Another Lastpass user here-I believe you can also prepay for up to 5 years. No discount I don't think ($12 USD/yr), but stops you having to think about it for a while.

KeePass is free, not sure why people pay for this?

    • Doesn't automatically sync although you can set this up using third party solutions.

    • Been using this for about 2 years now and never had a problem. A few of my mates use some of the others discussed (subscription/paid) above and they are a little bit slicker to use and I think integrate a bit better on some platforms but it's only marginal stuff in the long run. For a free service you can't ask for much more.

    looks good

    Currently trying 'SafeInCloud'..
Seems to be pretty well cross-platform and for the price (free for browser, one off $ for phone)

Cant see much in the way of it on comparison sites though, anyone else tried it/looked at it?

I've been using Safe in Cloud for a couple of years. Nobody has stolen my identity yet. Of course, I could have kept all my passwords written down on a piece of paper and hid it inside a potato, and then carried the potato around with me, and perhaps nobody would have stolen my identity then either?

    • I am hanging out for Safe in Cloud to introduce filling of usernames and passwords into apps like Lastpass does.

When that comes in the app will be killer.

  • Does anyone have any experience with Locko? Mac/iOS-only freeware from the team that do Forklift.

  • Do you have to pay for iOS and Android apps separately?

    • No. I had already pc and Android active and syncing with trial. When I paid here I just added the license key and now not trial anymore and life sub.
