  • Does anyone know if you can use the $25 store credit in the eBay store?

    • nope and you cannot use two vouchers / codes at the same time on eBay

    Very happy with my Sunbeam 6910! First one lasted 5-6 years with no issues (only needed to do standard maintenance and group head seal replacement which was cheap and easy).
    Ended up getting another one off gumtree because I couldn't afford / justify the BES920.

    This is a very good price for brand new machine/grinder combo!

    • Agreed, Mine is still going strong 7 years since purchase. Only issue was a failed steam pump which was thanks to the serviceman who had left the outlet loose on the previous service and it corroded the electrics, $50 for a new one and it's never looked like missing another step. Only thing I don't like is the noise, I definitely can't make a coffee if the wife is sleeping.

      • Ditto to the noise!

        I should have mentioned that my first machine was bought off gumtree for $100, and the second one was only $60 - both only needed a good clean / descale and then were able to produce fantastic shots.
        Great value machine, especially since it's twin thermoblock which is important for me.

  • I use mine around 4-5 times a day, great machine & grinder, highly recommended. Owned for 4 years and no issues. (Bought mine secondhand too, off gumtree as well)

  • that's a crazy good deal, i bought mine only 2 weeks ago from myer's ebay store for $424

  • What's the grinder worth? I already have a Breville Smart grinder which I assume is better

    • $70 or less.

    • The Smartgrinder is far better. You might get $70 for the grinder in this deal is sold unused. It's really inconsistent. We found with the Smartgrinder this espresso machine can make a decent cup (when you work out how to use it).

    I wouldn't buy a 6 yr old coffee machine.

    • They're not 6yrs old, they're new :D

      But seriously, the technology hasn't changed that much and these machines are rock-solid, esp for the price!

        I think PW means the design is 6 years old and possibly has a point as I paid $470 2.5 years ago.

          Haha yeah, I got that, the ":D" was my attempt at conveying sarcasm.

          But as per my second comment, coffee machine technology hasn't change that much for these types of machines!

  • I already have an Aeropress and a Breville Milk Frother.

    Any thoughts on whether I should get this or spend $200 on the Breville Smart Grinder and be done with it?? Not in a rush to buy a coffee machine although I will probably end up buying one in the future in any case.

    • If you don't have a grinder the Smartgrinder is a good one to start with. The one in this deal is not very good. The 6910 is pretty good and ok at this price, but really with the Breville BES 920 combo to be had around $900 occasionally that's the one to wait for. Think we recently had the 920 alone on here for $7xx.

      • Yep I'm thinking I'll buy the Smart Grinder now and get a machine separately when I'm ready for it - thanks!

  • Curious to those who say the grinder isnt very good, how come? Its a conical burr grinder with adjustable grind.. what else does it need to do?

    • I don't think it's not good, just that there are better ones out there.

      In comparison with the Breville Smart Grinder I've read that:
      * It's more messy
      * More coffee gets stuck in the grinder itself
      * It's less consistent

        The consistency is the biggest thing. You'll might get a decent cup out of it and think - right for the next few cups I won't change a thing, but they come out all over the place. We found replacing it with the Smartgrinder made a big improvement. With that you can rely on following cups being the same, even the next day or week. Only as the beans age (or maybe in weird weather) do you need to change a setting and that's a gradual, easy to read, predictable thing.

        The messy thing is because of static electricity. It creates it and the grinds stick and get all over the place.

        • Thats fair enough then. Interested because i have one. Brand new one at home, very old one at work in the office (was there when i started).

          I think the only feature i would like is a measured grind but i cant justify the upgrade cost. Static is a bit of a pain in the ass too

          That said, it does a good enough job that when i saw the machines/grinders for $424 at the good guys on a previous promo, i jumped on it
