After you proceed to checkout, there's a field down the bottom to 'add voucher' :)

    • How does the 1.25% the Cash backer offer work ?

      • +1

You need to sign up to Cashrewards and just click through to eBay from there. Best to read the FAQs first.

        • Cheers Guys, Finally time to upgrade from my cheapo $200 Bunnings bbq

  • These smoke like crazy. I have one on my apartment balcony. Amazed Inhave not been evicted yet.

    • Probably because all the fat is stuck on the walls of the bbq.

      • +4

No it's how you get the flavour, high for ten minutes before you start, seals the meat and it's nice and juicy.
Baby Q and family Q are the best. Q2000 doesn't seem to get as hot.
Excellent BBQ's but smoke like buggery

        • +12

The notion of sealing meats to keep juices on high heat is a culinary myth. The purpose is to sear to get a Maillard reaction going to caramelise the meat.

Nobody asked me but I just thought I'd say it XD

        • @Bunnyburger: thanks learned something new :-)

    • +2

That's the point of hood down BBQ cooking! Smoke!

      • Should have done my homework! I will try the hot metheod above to see if it smokes any less?

    Is this the LPG version?

  • I saw other day at Master's Clearance sale cheaper than this. Q2000

    • +13

I saw a pony the other day, it went neigh.

    • It would be the natural gas version if this was during the fire sale. All LPG ones sold at 10% off

  • lol yeah clean it every now and again, especially if it's been used for greasy snags

  • +6

    Tom are you seeing this?

    RIP

    • There has not been a 50% off sale ever since.

  • Thank you OP. Just bought one.

baby one used to be 159 ion special.
    will wait for lower price.
    OP thanks anyway

  • Is the Family Q really worth almost twice the price of the Q2000?

    • +1

Family Q has a cart/stand as well. But it is not portable. For Q2000, you will need to buy the card separately. Almost $100 expensive, but is a bit bigger as well.

      • Can the baby Q be used on a card/stand?

        • I know it can on the portable stand, it has positions for both the baby and Q.

        • @nafe:

Is this the one you're talking about?

        • @tranqme:

Yep, sure is. I use this one at home, handy for moving around into the garage and laundry for storage as it folds down. I got it from Myer when they had 20% off a while ago.

  • Prices are RRP. BCF might be selling them over RRP.

    looks like a drone

  • Is the cooking surface on these style webers made of aluminium?

    • enamel coated steel i think

    • Hey no it's cast iron with an enamel coating

    • Thanks. The sales assistant at DJs said they were alumimium.

  • I never really understood the fascination people have with this bbq

    • Same here. I have used a couple of them at friend's places and found them to be pretty hopeless.

      • Good for roasting.

  • Does anyone know if Masters have the Family Q cheaper? or is this the best price going around atm.. ?

  • +1

having the thermometer in the lid is a must. these new ones dont.

    • Not really, I would much rather rely on my meat thermometer.

      • +2

It's used to check temp inside the weber, not to measure meat temp though. I use both. Lid thermo is good to check preheated temp.

      • It's good when you are cooking things like pizza, damper or any other baked goods you can do in the weber. Takes my electricity bill down a fair bit by using it as a small oven.

    • +1

They aren't new. There is the stock Weber and the "specialist" model which is only sold through specific Weber dealers. They have the thermo, the electronic igniter and higher domed lid (great for the bigger roasts)

    • you can install one yourself. I got one from ebay. Works fine.

  • how does it compare with the Mavic?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/270127

    • +8

Well one is a BBQ and the other is a drone.

      • +1

        The Mavic is fan-forced 😆

  • Are these the only models (shallow lids) that are on sale?

What about the ones with higher lids and temp gauges on 'em? Are these on sale too?

    • no, those are only sold through specialist dealers. only good guys have the discount currently via ebay

  • I have a Q220, but suddenly feeling the need to upgrade.
Should I buy, or be happy with what I have?

    • I'm in the same boat. I love my 2 series BUT the 3 series packs a punch. It's not just the size, the heat is actually much better on the 3's. I'd buy one if someone purchases my 2. Anyone interested pm me. Comes with a BRAND NEW genuine grill plate.

      • I was actually just trying to figure out how much I could sell my 220 for. pretty sure I payed around 550 including stand. If I could sell locally around 300, would buy this for sure

  • +1

I've got the Weber e330. Amazed at how good this bad boy cooks all meats. Upgrades from a beefeater and haven't looked back. If you are in the market for the E series get the sear station too. Leaves a gorgeous grill mark on everything

    • +1

Where can I find the e series on sale?

      • Good question. I researched for a while however couldn't find any evidence of them going on sale often or at all. Negotiated a small discount at a local Weber seller. Very hard to get them cheap

  • Great price for the family q. Wish it was natural gas then I could buy one!

    • +1

Mate that's no excuse. Having an LPG cylinder isn't illegal, and these things are so miserly on gas they last forever on a 9kg.

      • I have a gas connection on my unit balcony and would much rather use that then have the extra gas cannister.

        • That's a fair point but you could also buy a smaller gas bottle and buy a fitting to make it work.
Before I found a gas bottle during the annual road side clean up I had my smaller camping gas bottle as back up.

  • I think I'll save up for a Furnace by Heston: https://www.everdurebyheston.com/
