an hour and still no comments from the ozbargain battery secretariat - I'm surprised… and keen to hear what our experts think of this charger, those batteries and these prices.

The price for 2 batteries is $18 + $6, there are plenty cheaper on eBay

What about the charger, is this a decent price for one with an Australian plug?

      • Actually postage for batteries is $2, so it is $18+2 = $20. If all products ordered are small(batteries), postage is only $2(automatically calculated by online store). As soon as you add large items, like the chargers, shipping is $6. Will edit post and add this info.

Nitecore products are excellent quality, and these prices are generally in line with the Chinese imports, only paying a small (and IMO reasonable) premium for Australian held stock.

I have no opinion or experience with this vendor or battery brand/model.

  • Note that this is an old charger model. The new model is http://charger.nitecore.com/product/new-i4 It is available on ebay (albeit more expensive than from this post).

    • The description on their site says it's the new 2014 model?

      • Though the image is of the old discontinued model…

  • Bestbay, this might be a stupid question, but both the 2-bay and 4-bay products say AA and AAA. Can you confirm that these charge C sized batteries too as per the specification?

    • +1

Yes, both of them charge C type batteries. This is also written on the outside of the box. So if I am not missing something, they can both charge C type batteries.

  • I don't know much about battery chargers. I'm thinking of buying one and some Ikea LADDA rechargeable batteries. Will this charge them fine? And is the new i4 that much better or necessary over the i4 in this deal?

  • Nitecore I4 charger cheaper at buyincoins, US$13.87 (currently equals AU$18.39). Free shipping. If you select AUD at the top left-hand corner of the webpage, you will be billed in AUD, no worries about exchange rate fluctuating. Use Paypal as always, there are some fake Nitecore chargers out there.

  • Hi bestbay. Thank you for the post. I have purchased 18650's online and they have turned out to be "fake" many times. I am not sure if you'll be able to answer this… how can we be sure that the ones you guys stock are legit :)

I want to buy some of course

I'm not sure about these guys ( prices seem good), but I like supersports600 on eBay for batteries in Australia.

      • Yeah supersport600 is a great seller. I had some questions which he answered over the phone and pointed me to the best batteries for my needs. Completely happy with sale and service.

    • What, are you telling me these 12000mAh 18550's arent actually 12000mAh.
