  • that pre ordered a special edition of the game

    Never pre-order games.

.. and I'm pretty sure BF1 is available as a trial anyway, without needing to pre-order…..

    • -1

      Why not?

      • Preorder discounts
      • Preorder freebies
      • Preordering a month before release has zero impact on the quality of the game
      • Cancel if not convinced. Review embargoes are generally lifted a few days to a week before release.

Do developers get a million pre-orders at E3 and think "ah, now we can relax and make a crap game"?
And where are the "don't buy on day 1" arguments? Where's the "never crowdfund!" arguments?
Luke Plunkett is happy to point people to Kickstarters which are well beyond a pre-order.

Don't preorder from companies that have a poor track record. Exercise your right to a refund. Don't be lazy and rant on social media instead.

  • Whats the cheapest 12 month EA access?

    • For me it was Microsoft Store with student discount, came to $35.99 for a year

Already got my money back from it, as I wanted it for NFS, and Mrs had a good go at Unravel :)

  • Do you need to download the games in their entirety when accessing them via EA Access? How much space do they take up?

Concerned I'll use up monthly quota if I want to put it to good use for a month.

    • Yes, as with all XB1 games, and depends on the game. eg. BF1 ~ 40GB.

    • Yeah, they're just like a standard install.

      • Suspected that was the case.

        Thanks guys.

  • Hmm, the Facebook like thing only works on your first purchase does it? Because I'm not getting any further discount… or do you have to do something?

    • Not working for me either.

    • Only on your first purchase, leaving that out in the title is a bit disingenuous.

  • Could you please mention that FB like only works on your first purchase? It rules out everyone who has already purchased something from this site.

    • nope, previous deal had no issues, I've made multiple purchases over a few months and it always works. must be on desktop site according to previous deal

Code that's generated on the Facebook link isn't actually tied to your email

Just make sure you're logged in on the site before applying the coupon

      • thanks for clarifying.

First generated 5% off code didn't work for me, a second one did.

  • do you need gold membership, otherwise ea access membership is useless?

    • gold membership is for multiplayer only, ea access gives you a library of games. If you dont have gold you can't play the online multiplayer portion of the games.

      • Thought you needed Gold for EA Access.

        Edit: I was wrong.

  • How much is the RRP for 12 months ?

    • +1

      xbl: $79.95
      EA Access: $39.99

thanks op, great deal. my gold free trial just expires next week so this is good timing.

i did some research and i noticed there hasnt been a price lower than $48 in a long time, last deal that was $40 or below where all early 2015 and 2013.

so i would say this deal is excellent based on recent xbox live price patterns

thanks OP :D just purchased my key successfully for $50.15 with the 5% discount today 17/10/15
had some issues initially but I was able to solve my problem by:
    1) creating an account on CDKEYS, log in
    2) visit their FB page and click like and click on "click here to get 5% off!" on the left hand pane then insert your email at the bottom and click submit
    3) a coupon code will load on the FB page > write this coupon down
*4) make sure you are still logged into CDKEYS with the same email (I wasn't logged on so the code I had wasn't being accepted)
    5) have the 12months xbox live item in the cart, add the coupon code, confirm $50.15
    6) check out with paypal
*7) receive an email from cdkeys > click "download" in the email > another page opens > enter your phone number > receive code on phone > use code on website > page loads BUT I couldnt not see any code, so I REFRESHED the page and the instructions of how to redeem and the 25 digit code appears at the bottom
    8) follow instructions and have happy times!!

I got stuck for a little on steps 4 and 7. Hope these steps will help others!

    • Thanks for this - a great help.

Step 7 - I needed to refresh the page also. I would have tried it eventually but your instructions gave me a lot more confidence I wasnt going to lose any of the session info when doing so.

Do these have to be used within a certain time period or do they expire? I'll try activating it on the weekend but just wondering.
