If you have the receipt and the tags are still attached, you should be able to as long as you're super nice to the sales assistant. Some may say no. If that's the case, just buy a new one, then return with the old receipt a couple of days later.
Yes it is a handbag and the tag is till attached, I placed the order online, so I am not sure if the staff can help me in store.
@divious: In that case, perhaps it's best to try the Customer Services department first as they are more knowledgeable in returning items purchased online. Don't forget to be nice! :)

Just got a Bassike jacket for $135.00 (RRP $699)! Very happy with it.
Is anyone having trouble checking out? I had multiple items and when trying to checkout was getting an error. Tried removing each item and right down to the last one it wouldn't work. When I tested with a full priced item it worked fine! Bit of a bummer after spending quite a while putting an order together - I even tried in a different browser (safari/google chrome) ):
Yep, this happened to me. The way I got around it was I had to set pickup for a store instead of delivery. Even though everything said it was in stock, I kept getting an error when checking out.
Switch to pick up from store and everything went through fine.
If it's anything like Myer, they'll cancel half the order after 2 weeks and send the poo stuff you ordered just to get free shipping… better off in store
