Breville Umilk + 400 Assorted Caps $279 (Was $577), DeLonghi Pixie Clips + 600 Assorted Caps $416 (Was $764) @ Nespresso

580

Got an email offering the above coffee machines for $1 when purchased with select capsule assortments.

A quick google of the coffee machines show that it seems to be good value, the caps are prices as on the nespresso online store.

Haven't posted many deals so apologies in advance if something is wrong.

EDIT: apparently the code in my link is no longer working, I''m unsure how many times a code can be used. I got the email from Hotfrog, an online directory (http://www.hotfrog.com.au/), I signed my work's business up on their, maybe try signing up a local cafe or something and see if you receive the same email?
The promotion also says the deal expires 1/11/16 or when 3,200 machines are sold.

apologies in advance if something is wrong

There is never any need to apologise, keep up the good work!

    • +5

Thanks! I just know the Ozbargain community has high standards (and so it should!), and would hate to disappoint haha

      • +7

It's okay, just make sure you don't mess up again.

  • They should have offered a proper automatic machine. Would have attracted many more buyers

    • There is, Lattisima is it called? You just need to top up water and milk so it is fully automatic right?

      • +1

I know that, unfortunately it is not offered with this promotion

      • Think dosada was referring to this deal specifically…

  • +1

Great value for the nespresso purists if you wanted a spare machine, as well as those just starting out.
I wonder when printers will follow the same model, free printer if you buy a year's worth of ink.

  • +1

    Nice find.

  • Is the pixie better than the Breville Umilk?

I had a Breville Umilk and it broke but I liked it so bought the same one again but its kinda leaky and unreliable so I am considering going for something different. Thanks

    • +1

      Pixie is pretty good

    • I had a U. It was crap. Silly design using the motor to seal the chamber. It's prone to failure. Nespresso support was good eventually, after initially telling me I was drinking a "commercial" amount of coffee (2-4 pods per day). I told them if there was a limit to how much coffee I should expect the machine to make, then that needs to be in big bold letters on the box.

Have used a pixie a few times, they're great. Use a Citiz at home now, but I'd say the pixie is better for consistency.

      • Commercial? Better start a coffee stand outside Nespresso and tout their commercial capabilities ;)

    • We've got the Breville Umilk white. Have had for about a year or more - and before that had another basic Nespresso machine for a good few years (Essenza manual I think). I'd say we average about 4-5 cups a day. No issues, no leaks and we really love it. Nice and compact, and its the only model with 3 pre-sets (short, regular, long) which is really convenient. I'd look at this deal, but we basically only use the Kazaar pods. On regular pod purchases you can exchange the pods within a couple of weeks which would work for me - but I'm guessing that wouldn't be the case on a deal like this. I might look into that though.

  • Woah. Amazing find OP.
    This is totes bargz.

  • targeted offer ?

  • +1

    Great find OP.

Tempted but I have no real need for a second machine. I would have thought about it, but downside to the deal is the decaffinated pods. I would have no use for those, except for playing practical jokes.

Reminds me of this dilbert: http://www.mikedowney.co.uk/blosxom/images/dilbert2003304890…

    • I have looked at it another way. For $1, I can replace my over 3 year old Pixie with a new one with a new warranty. Also my old Aerochino with a couple of scorch marks gets replaced.

I think I will find a new home with one of my children for the old machine (probably have to supply their capsules though.

      • So, is there anyone out there that DOESN'T have scorch marks on their Aeroccino? I have had three now, and the first two had terrible scorch marks. The third is starting to show signs now.

I tried to point this out to Nespresso as a design flaw. As the one we had at work had the same issue, as did a few other people I know, including the lady in front of me in the Nespresso store also complaining about the burnt milk stains on hers.

Nespresso rep basically said, 1) It isn't a design flaw, as mine works fine; 2) It isn't covered by warranty as it is user error; 3) Accused me of not cleaning it correctly. With regards to 2) and 3) I put milk in, push button, pour milk/froth out, then rinse in water, and wipe with a soft sponge.

Anyway, that's my rant for the morning

        • You are supposed to clear it after each froth.

        • @wtfnodeal: Thanks for the input. I clean it after each use, directly after use.

          3) Accused me of not cleaning it correctly. With regards to 2) and 3) I put milk in, push button, pour milk/froth out, then rinse in water, and wipe with a soft sponge.

The cleaning method above was what Nespresso confirmed after the first unit failed. (and as per the user manual)

edit1: So I have now been using the milk frother from Aldi. Cost me $21, and no problems at all with burnt milk.
edit2: My point is, if the milk is burning in the first place and sticking to the bottom, there is obviously an issue with a hot-spot. Which points to a quality control issue with the heated coil. ie tolerances on placement obviously inadequate to ensure even thermal distribution. As I said, if it was just me, I wouldn't have an issue, but over 10 different people with the same problem?

edit3: And if you do a quick google search:

          edit5: From yet another complaint/review
"This is the second milk frother I've been mug enough to buy after the first one gave up the ghost just after a year. The same thing happened to both of them - the milk burns on a 1 inch spot on the bottom and then it stops heating the milk. This burn mark is impossible to remove despite soaking etc.
This time I phoned Nespresso(from where I purchased it)and found out that if you clean the machine with anything more than a feather it invalidates the guarentee, they also told me that I should be using long life milk like the rest of europe! Apparently our fresh milk is wrong for the machine but it's a pity they kept this information to themselves until after I'd bought it."

        • @Tiggrrrrr: if you clean it each time after each use and unable to wash away the stained milk then it is faulty. Mine has a hot spot which milk always tends to stain there but can be easily wiped away with a soft sponge. They lied to you about the fresh vs long life milk. Of course we can use fresh milk and the only difference is in summer fresh milk doesn't give same and consistent quality as long life milk. You should contact Consumer Protection if they deny the warranty because you use fresh milk.
Edit: have you tried to rinse the frother with water before pouring the milk in it? I always do and maybe that's why mine doesn't burn the milk but only has a small milk stain at the bottom hot spot.

    Pods are for simpletons.

  • What is the reward code?

    • +1

reward code SOHO.X5Z.TD2.W5R will auto populate in your checkout. But you do need to press "apply"

  • +1

Cannot believe how good this is.

Just got a Pixie plus Aerochino for $1 approx.

Or looking at it another way, just up to 600 "free" capsules.

  • +1

Got this email via startlocal business email. Actually thought it seemed too good to be true and must have been a catch so ignored it. My reward code is different than the one mentioned above

    • Any chance you can PM the code you got? This one isn't working anymore. Thanks

      • Plus one on the PM if not too much trouble

        • Plus one for the PM, also if not too much trouble

        • Plus one for the PM, also if not too much trouble

        • appreciate a PM also, tks in advance.

        • Would apprecite a PM too thanks in advance =)

    • I'd also really appreciate code via PM if it's not too much trouble :)

  • +2

BTW - My Chrome Cashrewards addin is telling me that you get 6.4% back on Nespresso purchases.

    • bummer! purchased my machine just before I saw this

Thanks for the headsup for next time

  • The code isn't working for me :(

This voucher code has already been redeemed.

    • I get the same message.

Probably a limit on the number of times the code can be used?

    • Hmm must be to do with the codes, I'm not sure how many uses each code has. I got the offer from hotfrog (online directory sort of thing), I signed up my works business on there.
You could try signing up something (a local cafe or something?) on there and using your email?

The terms and conditions state the promotion will finish on the date above, or when 3200 machines are sold, so if you can figure out a way to get another promo code you should still be able to get one

  • Do the pods come in the proper sleeves? Or in a giant plastic bag?

When I click on the link I can't see the 400 caps option?

    • Under the step 2 section, click more info on the picture of the pods.

Doesn't specify about packaging, but they are nice round numbers so one can only assume they come in sleeves.

    • Proper sleeves

  • Does anyone have a spare code, that they weren't wanting to use?

    • same, would love to use the code if someone have but don't need.

  • Yep, the code no longer works

  • Does anyone have a spare code for this they can PM me? I really wanted to jump on this, but the code doesn't work :(

  • Yep code maxed out. Please if anyone has a spare code, can you pls PM me as well.

  • Also, tried.

If there is a spare code out there, please PM

    My order is still pending.

Anyone received their tracking details ?

    • Pending too. I'm a little worried. My friend called for more code and they explained it's a member only promotion.

    • My order has changed status from "Pending" to "Ready". Maybe it's going through?

      • Same here. This is looking good.

      • WTF! Mine is back to Pending even though I can see an order number!

        • Haha same here. Will wait till the end of this week and see what happens.

        • @ashb89: Mine is still pending too. Sigh. Hopefully it does work.

        • @ninja33:

Another one Pending. Never got to Ready.

        • My order is stuck in pending as well.

Whenever I have ordered pods they get them out really fast so its not looking good.

          Has anyone received there order?

        • @daveaus: Just got a shipping confirmation email so all good here

        • @ashb89:

Same here. Did you receive 3 Toll links ? with 3 different consignment numbers ?

I find it strange to have 3 tracking numbers

        • @oceang:

Just gone to ready, so things are moving.

        • +2

          @Sleepy24seven: I have 2 Toll links/consignment numbers.

Maybe they split the machine and capsules (I ordered 400) for myself and split by 3 if you got 600 capsules?

        • @ashb89:

          Yep 👍🏻 That makes sense!

        • @ashb89: Yep I got a toll consignment notice as well with 3 parcels.

Tried to access tracking with no luck on the toll website though

        • @Rollie: I got 3 x Toll and 1 x Australia Post. Very weird! I have it going to a parcel locker since Nespresso always used Australia Post in the past. I am sure that Toll won't deliver to the parcel locker, has anyone been in this situation before?

  • Called Nespresso, apparently it's only one machine per code so it will most likely get cancelled

    • Nah they won't. Nespresso customer services are the best and way better than Apple or any bigger companies.

      • I hope you are correct

  • Just got my shipping confirmation. Positive signs.

  • Does anyone have a spare code that I could use? Thanks in advance!

  • Really want a Nespresso machine. If anyone have a spare code that I could use (pm me)? Thanks a lot!

  • +2

Received mine today. The 600 capsules expiry dates is in April, May and June 2017.

In my books this is an excellent deal. Thank you OP!

    • +1

No problem, hopefully it might help with being 'Sleepy24seven' haha

  • anyone still have a spare code that don't need?

    • +1

Actually, if anyone else has a code, I purchased on no problem, but then tried to buy another for my folks and code no longer working.

      • yeah, probably need a new code. Hopefully someone has a spare

        • +1

No. I have asked them, all sold out.

  • Interested in a new code!

  • after a code pls
