Masters Extra 10% off Again Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th This Week

526

Masters are offering the extra 10% off again on Monday and Tuesday

17-18 of October

Whether you're still waiting for prices to go down this 10% could just help if there's something you need now.

If you haven't caught on yet, Masters seem to be dropping their price every Thursday of the week, it may not be all products, but
usually you will see a further permanent discount of 5% to 10% on top of what they have already done.

So if this 10% is still not enough, keep an eye on the weekly markdowns.

NOTE: The advertisement claims a 10% extra discount on the Total Purchase Price, but it does not do that, it discounts off the
discounted purchase price, so you must first work out the percentage it already has been discounted to, then you take 10% off that calculation,
this is equating to only 6% to 7% extra of the total purchase price, not 10% Falsely advertised maybe, see if you manage to get a full 10% off the
Total purchase price as correctly advertised.

This is what I've seen so far discount wise (then add 10% extra off)

Don't bother unless the shop is close to where you are.
I once bought a door handle saying 40% off. I learned that similar quality one is sold $10 cheaper in Bunnings.
Masters doesn't allow return/refund and no price match.

    • +2

Yeah most of the items there have equivalents that are still cheaper at Bunnings.

  • Can you still use woolies gift cards there?

If yes, who's offering the biggest discount at the moment?

  • Can anyone comment on the cheapest Weber they got from Masters recently and how much was the discount?
Nearest Masters is half an hour drive. Can anyone also confirm if they have good discounts on battery lawn movers?
People doing the closing down seems to be con on getting profits from novice end users who think they are getting a discount from the inflated prices.

    • The cheapest weber is from the good guys 20% off sales - ends tonight via eBay

      • Thanks. I was asking if anyone got best discount from Masters not from other stores.

        • I would be very surprised if any stores still had Weber BBQ's. They sold out pretty quickly when they were only 10% off.

  • Just came back from oakleigh. Pretty bare. Wall insulation's all gone :'(

Generally speaking, the best value products and the general purpose (cement, electrical wiring, pvc pipe) are gone, especially in the common sizes. There can be some deals though. They had 19mm 18 roll of copper. Bunnings sell it for $160, while masters, usually $220, down to $110.
They had a lot of those ego mowers though, really overstocked. If the discounts continue, they could actually be worth getting.

  • Bugger - I bought a very nice Hitachi sander at Masters on Friday at 25% off. The price of $89 was still $10 cheaper than anywhere else online, but could have saved myself another $9 with this offer.

I'm glad I didn't make a special trip though - I was in the area. But there was a lot of crap on the shelves - really nothing worth buying!

The Wakerley (Brisbane) carpark was packed - although very few people were walking out of the store with anything.

It was a bad day really - on the way home I passed a Good Guys store and went in to buy a sandwich maker. Completely forgot about the Ebay 20% off promotion. Could have saved myself another #12!

    • Ah could have been worse. I thought how bad it would be collecting a speeding fine on your way out to one of these places.

      • +1

        mmmm… Don't Speed?
Reading all these comments, deals are not worth rushing to!

  • so what the discount up to now?

  • +2

bugger all their sales! they wouldn't discount the blue Masters Bags!

  • Deceptive pricing and there is nothing on sale, even if they have a 90% off everything sale they can stick it, no wonder why the store failed!

    • I picked up a heap 3phase switches 50% off + 10% off.
Not much discount on tools though.

Got the Ego 56V mower for $438. Cheapest elsewhere is $519
Also got the 38 CM Brushless trimmer skin for $168
And Brushless blower with 2.5Ah battery for $256

    $862 all up

    • Can you give us a quick review of the blower when you get a chance. Also, where are they selling the mower for $519?

      • +1

Trade Tools have it listed on their website for that price. It would also be eligible for the promo cashback too.

        • +1

Only good if you live in QLD. Postage to Perth was $200

      • +2

Blower is good. Has 2 speeds, normal and turbo. Normal is ok for grass clippings and light stuff but not dirt or wet clippings. Turbo mode blows better than my old stihl 2 stroke blower by a heap. Can blow the dirt off my driveway, 20m across to the neighbors driveway. Downside being turbo chews through the battery a lot faster. I trimmed probably 200m of edging and then used the same 2.5ah battery to blow the driveway and patio and still had plenty of charge left.

By far the best tool is the 38cm whipper snipper. Has so much power, very little noise and has very responsive speed control on the trigger. Better than any 4 stroke or 2 stroke trimmer i've ever used.

  • it was more like 10% more at Dandy South - comedy continues.

  • +1

    25% storewide but be careful
I was looking at a shop vac but they are now twice the price
So 25% more expensive than when this started with the 'discount'
You may want to try Bunnings before this is over and their prices skyrocket

  • Kogan the bogan will buy masters.com.au

    • Would be funny to see masters.com.au domain owned by Kogan and everything shipped from overseas like dick.

  • Remember people, it's 10 off on top of the already discounted prices. If your item has been discounted by 40%, it doesn't mean that your total discount is 50%. By my calcultion, it's around 46% after the additional 10% discount.

  • anyone have any luck with white goods appliances?

FYI - Woolworth Gift Cards no longer redeemable at Masters - I purchased an e-gift card yesterday thru Cash Rewards and tried to use it yesterday but machine kept saying 'invalid card - declined'. Anyways I just compared it to an old gift card and Masters have been removed off the redeemable list!!

    • +1

Oh wow. Good to know thanks!

    • Wow that is an incredibly dodgy move on the part of Woolworths

I had a visit to Scoresby Masters today… also been to a few others over the last 2 weeks.

What i noticed is suppliers seem to be offloading stock to Masters to clear their own dead stock so fresh stock is now appearing..

Hand tools - mostly gone, couple brickies hammers, spanner and socket sets, big screwdrivers and generic non branded crap left
Power Tools - looks like 60-70% of stock is gone, a lot of display tools still on shelves which make it appear there's more stock
BBQ/Outdoor - any non branded stuff is still plenty, Weber and branded items are nearly all gone
Whitegoods- fridges are nearly all gone, maybe 8 left at Scoresby, from a choice of 30-40! and only display stock left(i missed the freezer i wanted)
ovens/stoves - nearly all gone, just Venini and Essato (shitty brand) stuff is left
timber yard - not much! a few sticks of timber in a few varieties, no full packs
screws/fixings - odd sizes left, but as they didnt control stock levels from the beginning, means a LOT of odd sizes
ladders - just the odd sizes
    Tile/floor coverings - odd stuff
kitchen cupboards/kits - hard to tell but looks to be selling through.
bathroomwar/tapware - mostly gone, just expensive weird styles left
Xmas decorations - obviously forward ordered earlier n the year, plenty of stock!

overall, it looks like the stores are half empty, some isles are just about empty and then some heaps of stock, There are bargains to be had, and for the savvy buyer, look at high end/high value products like hot water services in particular(high discounts at the moment), you could buy one, flip it on ebay about pocket $100-200, and that's after fees!

  • I went to the Northlands (Vic) store today, and as @berger has said, many shelves are empty, but some good deals still on the less often needed stuff.
I bought a Chamberlain PowerLift Plus Sectional Garage Door Opener for $207.68 (c.f. Bunnings $347) and the IR beam for $38.90 (c.f. Bunnings $85).
However I also looked at the Hitachi routers, and even with 25% off they are more expensive than online.
So I while I am sorry to see Masters go, I am not sure I will go back anytime soon, as much of the everyday stuff is now patchy, so I still end up at Bunnings and they usually have a better Sausage Sizzel!

  • Anyone know if another extra 10% is happening?
