  • How much are they normally?

Rays (same Super Retail Group as BCF) have it listed for $169

Still a lot of money for a plastic box.

It looks a lot like a cargo case made by Pelican. If you know what both those terms mean, you would understand why they are expensive. This price is actually quite low.

    • If you ever need to transport your 200k+ video equipment, these boxes are life saver.

      • Pelican yes. …XTM?!?!?!?

If you have $200,000+ Video Equipment, you'd be better off forking out for more actual Pelican Cases.

    • Link to a plastic box that is as tough as this and cheaper?

  • The equivalent size at Bunnings for a Pelican brand costs $99.

    • Do you have a link? Couldn't see any dimensions on the BCF link.

That looks pretty similar, but I can't find the dimensions on the BCF one.

        • The Bunnings case is 60 litres based on the outside dimensions. As the cases have inner walls, an estimate of 50 litres of usable volume sounds right. The BCF box is a copy of the Pelican one so the dimensions should be the same. Pelican cases have a lifetime replacement warranty, so if you accidentally drive over it in your 4x4 they will replace it. Not sure if it extends to the cargo cases though. If it does, the Pelican is a better buy.

        • @endotherm: Theres not much inside them. Its just a decent thickness plastic. The lid has a folded edge, but its not solid. ie: if you filled it with water, youd have a hard time getting it all out due to the folded lip. Their volume would be close to the results of calculating measurements.

        • @Tuba: You'd probably be able to fill the bottom part with 50 litres of water. The lid is double layered/hollow if I recall the Pelican case correctly (I haven't picked up my BCF one yet) which would account for the lost capacity. I'm sure someone, somewhere has measured 50 litres and it is why it is on the specs. I just know I need a box that size to store telescope gear for transport and that it will fit. The really big cases are double-walled downstairs as well. Couldn't remember if they were on this size too.

  • Does anyone know the dimensions? I can't find them

  • Couldn't see any dimensions on the BCF link?

  • Their online ordering system with "free delivery" sucks. You can order it online, but if you want free delivery via in-store pickup, you have to pick a store that already has one in stock. They won't send your order to the store for free like every other store does (e.g. Supercheap Auto, which is owned by the same group as BCF).

  • Guys at Mt Barker say they are discontinued. Get them while they last. Also they aren't in the catalogue and aren't marked down on the shelf so they might last longer than usual.

    Also on their eBay store:

  • Wasn't working on their ebay store before. This is the better option, delivery above is $44.95 (not sure how?), $19.95 on the BCF web page, or $16.95 on ebay. Click and Collect still only from stores with stock though. Don't forget $0.86 back via Cash Rewards.

  • Wasn't on website last night. Bugger. I was going to get one last night….. After contemplating for a while.
