About CableGeek

CableGeek stocks the largest range of Anker cable products in Australia (and we are rapidly expanding our product catalogue to also include multiple models of Anker power banks and chargers by the end of this year). All products are immediately available and shipped from Melbourne. (Unlike AliExpress you definitely don't need to wait 20-41 days for your cables.) Our prices are great and we can match any price on Anker products quoted by local sellers.

Why Anker?

CableGeek has sold over 400 Anker cables (yes, 100 more since last week) so far and we have only heard good things from our customers. Put it simply Anker's cable products are among the best in the industry, in terms of build quality, design, durability and spec compliance. Charging speeds depend on multiple factors but a high-quality cable is a must-have. CableGeek also offers 18-month Australian warranty on all Anker products.

  • Unmatched low defect rate: <0.5% across all product lines over 18 months (vs 3% industry average), based on the stats provided by Anker
  • Premium design and engineering: I prefer Anker cables over the original ones because of they are better looking. They are incredibly durable too, watch this tough test video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2crISE-TLxE
  • Fast charging speeds. Anker's Micro USB and USB-C cables are absolutely the best performers in the industry. Combined with Anker's PowerIQ technology used in Anker PowerPort USB charger or Anker PowerCore+ power banks, the charging speed is as fast as the phone can safely handle.

  • Does the Powerline+ come with that grey pouch thing?

    • Yes. It does, and it'll be included in flat mailer package as well.

  • no deal, same as before

    • Doesn't have to be cheaper everytime.

      • its not a deal when its the normal price

        • Normal price is $18.99 + $4.95 shipping. $15.95 + Free Shipping is this week only. :-)

    • We are aware that Anker products may be sold cheaper on AliExpress (if we wanted to ship from overseas we could beat their prices too), but waiting 23-45 days for a USB cable (might be a replacement for a broken one, for example) is not realistic for everyone. Again, CableGeek is happy to match all "local stock" prices in Australia, all the time (even when we're not running a deal).

  • Any chance of a deal on a standard 1.8m Micro USB cable?

There was a 1.8m Micro USB deal last week, but we're currently out of stock. PM me if you want to be notified when it's available again.

Hi rep, can you let me know what are the differences between the standard, PowerLine, PowerLine+, Nylon Braided? I'm currently using Anker 5 port charger (normal charger, not the one with fast charging) if it makes any difference. Thanks!

    • To summarise (from value to premium):

Standard: Entry-level product. The cable itself is quite thick (more durable than other entry-level cables) and provides basic spec features.
PowerLine: Kevlar fibre core. Faster charging speed.
      Nylon-braided: Nylon-braided design. Gold-plated connector.
PowerLine+: Most high-end product line. Kevlar + double nylon-braiding. Comes with a stylish pouch.

I'm not sure I buy the "faster charging speed", though I do understand it's probably just marketing. 21 AWG (on the standard cable) is more than enough for every phone I've tested to maintain 2A over 1.8m.

It mostly comes down to looks and maybe cable longevity. Personally, I've always had the connector fail first, with the cable usually completely fine. YMMV, especially if you have a habit of running over the cable on rolling chairs…

  • It looks like you guys are low on stock. I just put an order through and got an "Error: SKU Mismatch SKU does not exist in Non-Manage BySKU item specified by ItemID." message.

Your site says that there are only two gray left in stock. It said the same after I ordered some.

    • We do real-time stock management so the stock levels are always checked correctly. However page caching may prevent the stock levels from being reported immediately. The error message might relate to something else but I'll take look.

Your order was completed fine and gray is now completely out of stock (no longer listed as an option). We still have plenty of red PowerLine+ 0.9m Micro USB (25+ available).

      • Thanks for the response.

I've put in another order for more red. I was hunting around for a deal on Anker cables this morning, and had no idea what the difference was between the different 'grades', so this deal, and your helpful explanations above and on your site sold it for me.

Hi rep, any deals on the 1.8m powerline+?
Actually after a 1.8m with USB C to usb 3.0, but happy to grab a 1.8m + adapter instead.

*edited: looks like you don't stock those micro b to usb c anymore :(

  • What is AWG rating of the cable used in Powerline+ ?

    • PowerLine+ should be 30/20 AWG (30 data 20 power). Even the cheapest Anker Micro USB cable has 21 AWG for power.

  • Rep any chance of selling Anker phone batteries ? I am after a Samsung S5 replacement battery.

  • come on rep, let's get some multipacks in! :)

  • You've had deals on the micro USB and lightening cables, when are we getting a deal on the USB C to USB 3 cables?

    • +1

We definitely want to do a USB-C deal some day, but the difficult part is to get enough stock to post it on OzBargain. At the moment though, Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB 3.0 Cable (0.9m)
is only $14.99, which is around the cheapest prices on CableGeek. You can stack this with a free shipping qualifying item in this deal, e.g. 0.9m Micro USB so you get one USB-C to USB 3.0 and one Micro USB cable for $20.94 total and free shipping.

      • I tried stacking a usb to lightening cable (11.95) with the micro usb (5.95) for the free shipping, but didn't work. Can you confirm if it should stack? Otherwise i'll just order the micro usb on it's own with free shipping. Thanks

        • There was a configuration issue caused the incorrect shipping rate calculation. Can you please try again? They should be stackable to get you free shipping for the entire order.

        • @CableGeek: Yes it's working now, thanks. Ordered.
