  • Hmmm the evga ftw is the same price ><. Is Asus international warranty still terrible?

    The classified is 13usd cheaper!!!

    • Am I not seeing the same thing? The classified link you have is $967.50. I have to thank you for the evga link though as I'm probably gonna grab that instead. Unless there is another who comments with a better card. Do does anyone think it's better to wait for the us black day sales? Or bite the bullet and grab one now?

      • That's exactly where I'm torn. I'm worried that stock levels will be low mid November due to the holiday rush? There is a gigabyte G1 1080 on ebay for $865 aud delivered from NZ. With that price i think the current card prices will drop around $80 over the next few months. The Ti will be out in Feb that could cause them to drop further. However i dont see them dropping too far below $800 outside of sales.

So buying now vs March you might save yourself up to ~$120 depending on avability.

    • I was ready to order the EVGA FTW until I saw this article:
      https://www.techpowerup.com/227133/evga-gtx-1070-1080-overhe…

      https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/58hnzb/word_of_wa…

Basically some cards are having issues and it has been discovered there is an "absence of any thermal pads over the VRM area of the FTW line of cards".

      • Yaassss. I read this a few days ago and their fix is a…. here user do this yourself k thanks bye… Most people have said, their customer serivcd for RMA is amazing but their build quality and design are average. Compared to asus which have a good build and average af service. I'm thinking the gigabyte might be the way to go.

        • Yea I just ended up buying the Gigabyte GTX1080 8GB G1 that is on ebay for $865 shipped. Saved some cash and it still is a good card with 3 year warranty.

        • @mfxr: Amazon have it going for the same price delivered at the moment. I guess i need to decide on Amazon vs Ebay store….. or wait…. hahaha.

    • +1

Q: is asus international warranty still terrible
      A: yes

(FWIW, I still own and use many asus components. I just pray nothing goes wrong with them)

  • redwards- Can't answer about the ASUS warranty. Always wanted the Asus 1080 OC Strix so that is the route I just went.

Only 6 left in stock on Amazon, there were 14 in stock.
