  • Almost tempted but then I am using a 31.5" 1920x1080 that I got for $275 :p

Joke post? Team this with Clear's TV box and it'd be one really nice Smart FTA TV. I got 4K for viewing my photos - FTA is FHD, FTTN for many will stutter on 4k if there is more than one user in the house, and for gaming, I'm not sure "squeeze the pimple on the enemy's chin" will be the next big thing in FPS …
    Sydney only it seems…

DAMN IT!!! I REGRET buying that Phil(ofs**t) monitor!!! Even though this is still not UHD the LG panels are one of the best in the business!

Do you really regret the Philips, or just a case of "grass-is-greener"? I only ask as I have been looking at the Philips for a while, reviews here and whirlpool seem positive. 3ms G2G vs 5ms on this LG, matt finish on the Philips, this says "semi-glare"
Is there really anything wrong with the Philips?
(BTW I don't see VESA listed on the LG, can anyone tell me how far from the bottom of the unit is the lower VESA mount, I don't want to remount my wall bracket)
Using old DSE VIVO 32" HD up-close at 1360x768, you'll understand why I am not worried about UHD.

      • what is the Philips monitor? I'm looking for a 32" monitor with FreeSync. not too worried about UHD either. or VESA

        • The Philips mentioned is discussed here http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2536838 - quoting one post "There are two models, BDM3201FC/96 and BDM3201FD/75." - we're talking the FD, Philips site info here http://www.philips.com.au/c-p/BDM3201FD_75/signage-solutions…
Available $299 at multiple store, MSY, CPL, Scorptec, Centre.com
Though having seen the features on the LG, assuming they are the same model below (thanks IngenuityDenied), I think I would squeeze out the extra $21 now, and yes, kronicmacstigator (below) has me a little worried.
Though still kicking myself spending $400 on this HD DSE, maybe if I wait…….
I really only want ~480p youtube clips to upscale (does this actually happen, or does the monitor receive a 1080p signal from the graphics card and assume there is no need?)

      • Unsure whether 32MP58HQ-P is different to the model listed 32MP58HQ however on LG's website VESA mount is listed.

      • Dead pixels galore with the Philips, I was 'lucky' and only had one black one in the centre… the sharpness was… I'd rather hunt down the LG in a store for a look. The Philips I wouldn't even consider buying.
