  • Can bust out the old guitars now

    • +1

They aren't compatible with the new game due to controller changes.

      • They work but online says not seamlessly

        • I couldn't find anywhere that agrees with that, do you have a source? I'd be interested to see how it works!

        • +4

          @nkbswe5:

Older Guitar Hero guitars have five buttons, whereas Guitar Hero Live's guitar has six (in a 2 x 3 format) - therefore the older guitars won't work for Guitar Hero Live as the button layouts are vastly different.

Source: Me, as I own every Guitar Hero game released on the Xbox 360.

  • Amazing price on Guitar Hero Live. They're also selling the PS4 Media Remote for $42 which is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere - https://www.target.com.au/p/universal-media-remote-for-ps4/5…

  • +6

Heads up to anyone looking for the 'Nintendo Classic Mini: NES'. They will be available from Target as well.

  • +3

Wow the Xbox one is starting to sell at a 360 price, guess it's just standard tech these days.

  • -1

I've read the difference between the Xbox One and XBox One S… I think the new One S is worth shelling out the extra $$ for.
Faster CPU, better graphics, 4K Blu ray, 40% smaller than the original XBox One.

    • +2

CPU is the exact same. The GPU is slightly overclocked on the One S. Graphics are identical. There's a very minor performance increase with some games on the One S (screen tearing, fps).

    • +5

Look up videos on Digital Foundry's frame rate analysis; Difference between consoles is ~1-2fps, 3 at best.

    • 4K Blu ray, 40% smaller than the original XBox One.

Just there are they worth the extra $$$?

  • Soooo…. How is EB's price matching policy these days?

    • +3

If it's a catalogue item, they shouldn't give a fuss about pricematching. If it's a clearance item with a huge price difference between what they're selling and what EB are, that's just asking for an instant "No".

In short, it's good for those items listed.

      • +1

Cheers for that! Thinking I might give them a try if I fail snagging a console at target, seeing as their stock levels are always a bit of a hit and miss.

        • If it's consoles, they will hesitate as each store will sell various bundles with different games in each.

        • @silverrat23: EB will not match prices on console bundles unless they're identical. Which one were you hoping to grab?

  • Do all copies of infinite warfare have the remastered cod4? (Does this one have it)

    • +3

Unfortunately it does not, you need to buy the legacy or legacy pro edition of the game to get MWR.

      • +1

Guess I will just be buying it separately on the psn store / steam.

        • +1

Yeah only time will tell, hopefully

        • Modern Warfare Remastered won't be available separately. It might later on, but Activation have not announced any dates for that.

        • +2

          @silverrat23:

You can bet your last dollar it will be available separately. Activision will milk the special editions until they run dry, then put this up as a download later on.

        • @DKPARTY:

if its digital they will probably price it at $99 ?

        • @nnolan: Cheaper if you buy at places like gaming dragon, greenman gaming and ozgameshop

        • @nnolan: 99USD if you get it on the US store.
          150 AUD on AU store

        • @Gristy:

No im talking about when they release MWR as a standalone they will probably price it as $99 on the psn store

  • XB1 price is really tempting. I am current owner of PS4 and I also have PS3 Jailbroken to play Retro Games Via Emulator, my question is it worth getting it? I will keep my PS4 because most of my friends play online on PS4.

Which deal is better 1tb XB1 with Halo Collection at EBGames or Target XB1 500GB with slight lower price?

    • +3

Adding storage on xbox is easy…just add ax external hd and your done. It really depends on which game your after. I personally think halo is a better deal but i was under the impression that the eb games deal was refurbished, not new, but im not 100% sure.

      • +1

Thank you so much for your response. Thing is I enjoy ps exclusive more like Uncharted and God of War series. I am not fan of first person shooters (makes me dizzy and gives me headache) and racing games for which I believe Xbox is more popular it has Halo and Forza. Are there Xbox exclusive games like witcher and Skyrim? The only thing I like about Xbox is backward compatibility for which I already have Jailbroken PS3. I think I am going to pass this deal. But still great price.

P.s for ebgames deal I think someone called them and asked if the deal is for new or refurbished console the store person said it is for new. Read it on comments.

        • +2

Xbox One exclusives are along the lines of: Forza 4 & 5 (or 6, 7?), Horizon 3 (Australia), Sunset Overdrive, and non-local-multi Halo5. Everything else can be found on another system.

'Backwards compat' is an incorrect term and they should be sued for it, as on my last calculation it supported <7% 360 titles. Current count is probably around 10% I'd say.

Pro points for Xbone are cheap prices and better Bone Games With Gold free titles than PS4 titles.

  • +1

I told myself I'd start being interested in Xbone bundles at $350 mark - $250 with a game is veeeery temping. I'm not convinced it's worth it for a couple console-exclusives, and I have a vast backlog … Thoughts on price at Xmas?

    • +3

It's a must buy. $250 for a Blu-ray player, Netflix, catch up TV, time shifting TV (with cheap antenna adapter) and more and more Windows 10 apps being ported over.

Plus it's great console, with great exclusives.

Plus find an old HDD (everyone has them around the house right?), put it in a cheap USB3 enclosure, then you've got heaps more storage.

  • +3

    Never mind, I'm a moron :)

  • +1

Big price drop. So who thinks the XB1 500GB will be $200 by Christmas?.

    • +1

At that price I'll be having both the One and the PS4 by Christmas lol.
Quite tempted, $250 is so cheap but I must resist until the holiday season ;)

    • Maybe, but stock will be hard to find, wouldn't it? This model has been discontinued I believe and it seems retailers are bundling in games at low prices to get rid of stock.

      • If it's anything like the last time they pulled a sub $300 Xbox one sale there will be very limited stock. I was happy with my $279 Xbox one, but damn $250 with game!

  • Good to see a price drop on Deus Ex as well.

  • Does anyone know if the catalogue is gonna be released on the 3rd November or will it be released before that because It's not on the website yet.

    Also is this Australia-wide?

  • How easy is it to find a game on halo 5?

    • What do you mean?

      • Multiplayer games? Given how long the game has been out for, the player numbers must be thinning

        • You can still find games pretty easily in peak hours. Off-peak you'll need to set search preferences to "expanded" meaning it searches outside your region and skill level. There is some lag but it's not unbearable.

  • will the xbox also be on their website?

    • +1

Yeah will be - just wont have the bonus lego game unfortunately.

      • +1

thats okay, its officially thursday but price is still the same..when will it change? https://www.target.com.au/p/xbox-one-5-gb-console/56257748

        • but it's wednesday?

        • It starts Thursday so price will update then

        • @boratsagdiyev: got one today thanks !! with extra $20 discount. $229 for Xbox One, is that good?

        • @50cent:

Is the online order also comes with game?

          "XMAS20" will discount $20 more.

      • @borat does the controller with the 500gb Xbox one come with the audio jack 3.5mm? Or is this the old one?

        Thanks

        • yes it does

  • @boratsagdiyev Does the controller in the xbox have 3.5mm headset port ? Or is it the old controller ?

    • One I bought has new controller with 3.5mm port

      • yes they all do now !!

  • Hmmm Wonder if they will do Infinite warfare edition with the Mordern Warfare remake cheap as well?

I will most lilely buy the new COD but im just wondering when I should pull the trigger this friday, a lot of the time release day sales tend to be cheapest these days which is weird - well for a while anyway - and I dont want to wait a whole year until the next COD is out to grab it

  • Anyone reckon we'll see Xbox One's drop lower than this before Christmas period? Not sure whether to bust out the purchase now or play my cards right and hope it goes lower than this in a few week's time.

    Thoughts?

    • I bought one this morning

my theory was the XB1 (non S) will be run out soon
the S wont be this special for a while although the games bundles will be better (this is my 2nd one)

I have a newish TV that isn't 4K so don't see myself buying a new one any time soon

      • +1

Hmmmm tempting, tempting…. reckon these models are the first gen models from 2013? If so, no surprise if they are clearing stock and do run out soon

        • 2016-04-02 manufacture date

as listed above does have the 3.5mm port on controller also

        • @HFB: thanks!

  • aaaand its gone

i was literally checking out when it said stock ran out :(

  • +1

Use code "XMAS20" for $20 off on the website, works on the xbox one and brings it down to $229

    • Thats annoying didnt work for me earlier said invalid and the small print of the offer seems to suggest it wouldnt work.

    • Small print says excludes toys entertainment and electrical… u got lucky somehow

    • I tried this before going down to the shop

      didn't work for me also

  • I chucked it on layby. Collect by dec 29 so if any christmas or boxing day deals come i can switch… also got my mum to pay for it as xmas present

    • -1

      how old are you?

  • Can it play 4k movie?

    • No, only the new S one can…

      • Can i play 1080P?

        • Well you can play blu rays which are 1080p I'm pretty sure, in terms of gaming many xbox exclusives are 1080p, but it's varied.
