A word of warning. I have this machine and don't feel it actually handles a full 8kg load well. When loaded quite full, clothes get pushed towards the seal and we've had this even with 6kg load. But for those who want a German-made Bosch, it's a good price.

    • does this one has load sensing, last Bosch i used had this feature, overload it and it wouldn't run. Sound like your washer's drum is not horizontally balanced.

Can't remember where they are made but it hasn't been Germany for a long time.

Hence why I specifically mention that this is the more expensive German made model. Cheaper Bosch washers are made in China.

        • Mine is made in Thailand. (Cheaper Bosch)

        • @albanyson:

Or India or Poland are other possibilities I've discovered.

Recently bought a Siemens washing machine which is also manufactured by Bosch.

If it's similar to what I have then the 8kg max load is only actually recommended for certain program types which you will have to look in your manual for. I think mine only recommended the max weight for cotton clothing and had different weight recommendations for the other program types.

      • Yes only 1 program, Cotton 2 hr 20 cycle, is rated for 8kg. I would have expected it to handle this. But as mentioned on our machine, loads anywhere near this amount, even on that cycle, caused socks etc to get caught and damaged in the seal. We're exchanging for a bigger machine hopefully with a seal less prone to this.

    • I also own the exact model (purchased around 3 months ago). I had a Bosch 7KG machine before and I definitely feel the difference in capacity. Working fine with a full load of towels or clothes. It's made in Germany.

My most favourite things: It's super silent and is not moving a bit even while on the 1400rpm spin cycle !!! Energy and water consumption ratings are great!

I don't like: Washing cycles are long (30C, Cotton, 1200 Spin —> around 3h 45 or 60C, 1200 Spin —> over 4h) (But as it is so silent I run it with the timer in off peak at 1am), Setting up the speed cycle halves the load capacity to 4kg (which actually was the same at my old machine but I never knew about it).

  • Looking to buy a new washing machine, is LG a good brand to go for or this Bosch one? Looking for something around 7-8kg preferably Top Loader.

  • This has been as cheap as $790 before, during the eBay sales: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/239182…

Any other discounts that can stack?

Another question - does anyone know if this would fit in the back of an X5?

  • Not a bad purchase at all, been looking at this for a while. Added the extra 5 years as these things are prone to some kind of issue after several years. Don't forget to those who signed up for the online newsletter to use the $25 discount. I just used it along with the other promo code.

    • Bought ours yesterday online and was ready to pick up within 30 mins. Got it home and set it up. NOTE! Take out the 4 rear transporter bolts otherwise it will jump around like a crazy person! But other than that it worked a dream for 2 full loads and was VERY quiet. Would recommend for a solid washing machine.

  • Sounds like a solid washer.
My Electrolux is looking like it's about to die after 10 years so I can't fault that either.

  • Looked at this….. Till a $550 delivery charge killed it for me
