Performance/Cost wise this card is the best bang for your buck?

  • Is better to buy 256GB? Ive got Samsung 7

    • Is it better to buy an SUV or a sedan? If you need more than 128gb then 256 is a better buy

    • -7

No, get the 200GB Sandisk one imo.

The S7 only supports sd card sizes up to 200 GB.

    • how is your S7 coping with SD cards? I have got two 64GB, lexar and samsung. With more than 700 photos stored in the card, the phone starts freezing. So the storage is useless to me. Unsure if S7 is picky on cards or just generaly dont do well.

      • No problems at all with my S7 + SanDisk 64GB card. I have just under 5,000 photos on it at the moment.

my reccomendation is to archive the camera folder before you hit 1000 photos. which is about as frequent as you should be backing up

i.e. rename the camera folder to camera old

the phone will create a new folder for you when u take a picture.

this way when youre backing up or browsing photos, it wont take seven years to index the folder of 20000 pictures

        • learnt. thanks!

    Great work TA!

Any deals for Sandisk Extreme microsdxc U3 64gb, TA? Been waiting for it for quite some time now…

  • Can I record 4k video on my phone with this?

    • +1

You can record 4k video with this card on pretty much any device unless it's a high-bitrate device like the Sony A6300. Even with that camera, 4K video works fine unless you specifically choose the 100Mbps option.

      • +1

That's just not true, you need at least U3 for 4K and this is just U1

        • Nah. I record 4K on my GoPro 5, A6300, and S7 just fine.

You need to look past the marketing that card manufacturers put out. 4K is simply the resolution. What actually matters is the bitrate, which determines the maximum transfer rate required.

You can get a full HD (50Mbps which is 6.25MB/s) camera that records at a higher bitrate than an S7 recording 4K (48Mbps which is 6MB/s).

Take a look at the list of cards supported by the GoPro 5 Black.
I haven't gone through them all, but if you look at e.g. the 4th card, which is a Samsung Pro UHS-I 16GB (MB-MG16DA/AM), you'll see that it's a U1 card.

Sandisk Extreme u3 128gb is $72 after coded, still more expensive than the September deal :(

    • Yeah, @TA please secure a deal for this? Or any U3 ones? Extreme Pro would be the sweet spot

  • +1

TA, can you do a special on the 64GB Evo+ please?

    • +1

Cut this 128GB in half will get you 64GB.

actually i got one new, do u want to buy?

  • Anyone has personal experience using this on Samsung S4? Will it work? I read somewhere that says you can, some say you can't

  • Will this work on my GoPro Hero5 Black? I just brought it and am wondering if I need to buy this next ;)

    • me too

    • I would prefer to go with Class 10 U3 SD cards… Something like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/152155225906 (I bought today from PCbyte for Hero Black 5)

Refer below link GoPro preferable SD Cards…

      • Wow, thank you Onlyworld. This is very useful. Many thanks.

Willy, I think Onlyworld knows what (s)he is talking about. I am going to buy this class 10.

        • Class 10 = guaranteed 10m write speed (also known as U3)

          U3 = guaranteed 30m write speed

Go for one with at least U3, SanDisk Extreme is the best bang for buck but Extreme Pro would be the best choice (>60m write speed)

  • Well that teaches me for buying earlier… going to sulk in the corner now.

  • Can we use this on viofo 119 dashcam? Thanks
