  • £79.99 is including VAT - excluding is £66.66 + £12.11 to Sydney = £78.77 - using 28 degrees should be about $126 total.

    • How did you arrive at that total? Do you have prime?

      • I wasn't so signed up for the free trial - as described in the original post.
Once in cart and select delivery address the price is shown excluding VAT: £66.66

  • Nice price. I almost bought from wireless 1 this morning for $175 after 20% off.

    • I ordered one. The total price in AUD was 130.75.

Does anyone know if this loses any features when using a non-Sony phone? Can the gps on the watch be used to track runs when not paired to your phone? Any apps that can be run straight on the phone that work on their own?

To answer my own question: Although its ability to use GPS to track your run is handy, its poor screen, uninspiring design and lack of a heart-rate monitor means the SmartWatch 3 doesn't impress over its more luxurious Android Wear competitors.

Does anyone know if this loses any features when using a non-Sony phone?

Google didn't allow OEMs to customize Android Wear at all (except watch faces). There shouldn't be any device depended features.

  • Will this get Android wear 2.0 upgrade?

    • Read on reddit that Sony have said it will. If you believe them, is up to you.

  • Anyone know where you can buy a band for these at a decent price? the silicone ones? I've got one and yeah, trying to buy a new band is almost as expensive as buying the whole watch again…

  • Would have bought this if I didn't already order a pebble time 2.

    • I just got a bit regret to get a pebble time round this year earlier and paid 179…

  • Just a silly question, will it work with iOS or only android…

    • Will Work with reduced functionality.

    • I believe (not sure if I am mistaken) you can't start Android Wear without an Android 4.3 phone with the "Wear" app installed. I have both a Sony SmartWatch 3 and an LGE G Watch W100. It won't let you proceed until you first "pair" with a phone. When I say "proceed", I mean let you see ANYTHING, no watch face, can't start apps, etc. It just stays at the start screen.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems there's a Wear app for Apple.

  • Good price, but I don't need one.

Exactly what I was looking for and great price, thanks mate. I wanted a wearable mp3 bluetooth player to pair with my wireless earphones on long walks and bonus can wear it while swimming laps.
