    • Thank you as always :)

    • Can you please share how you get the manual links?

  • Is it a cash credit or credit for the hotel your receive?

    • cash credit on your card

  • Does the spa at Langham qualify?

    • Qualifying Purchases include accommodation, food and beverages and other incidentals during your stay which are paid at the hotel front desk at the time of check-out.

      • I'm not sure where the spa fees are paid though -

        • +1

Pretty sure it's like the Hilton deal where the spa/gym qualify (even though they're not paid the at front desk).

The website also has a bunch of gift vouchers, which should be sold through the 'front desk'.

  • Nice one !!!

Does dinners without stay at Langham qualifies ??

    • Yes

      • How does one achieve this?

Do I have to buy this in advance. http://www.langhamgifts.com.au/southbank-restaurant-vouchers…

        • Not sure I think you go in store and buy?

The Sydney one says "Choose a Gift Voucher for specific accommodation or dining options or specific dollar amount so the recipient can use the voucher towards creating their own lavish Langham experience."

        • someone should test it for all of ozbargain. You will be rewarded with all the upvotes.

        • +2

@phocus: Im in the process of buying a gift voucher for the kitchen. Been looking to go to this place and with this AMEX offer it's even better. So will get voucher to use within 12 months.

          Stay tuned!

        • @Turd:

Many upvotes are awaiting your response :)

          Also was it from langhamgifts.com.au?

        • +1

          @phocus: No, the hotel itself.

        • @phocus: BAM! DONE SEE BELOW

      • I'm not sure if it's qualify.

It stated "Qualifying Purchases include accommodation, food and beverages and other incidentals during your stay which are paid at the hotel front desk at the time of check-out."

It seems you have to stay at the hotel in order to qualify the dinner as well.
But please correct me if I'm wrong. I would love to have dinner without Stay as well.

EDIT: ok never mind found out you have to get the Voucher instead.

  • I wonder if gift vouchers qualify?

    • Yes

    • C. Transactions that are not eligible
The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:
      transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);
      transactions processed through a third party payment processor (for example, PayPal);
transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

        Must be another newbie.

          Hi Nightelves,
Just to clarify I know that AMEX cannot differentiate between the purchases, but the question being whether vouchers qualify, I think it should be pointed out that the official answer is no.
Nobody knows when they will start to enforce these terms.

        • +3

          Must be another newbie.

          @j4ice:

I called up the Langham Melbourne and got confirmation that regardless of what you buy whether it's giftcard, vouchers etc. On the credit card transaction it'll show as The Langham - (city). Hope that helps.

        • @EarlyBird:

Someone sure has a lot of time. :P

  • i farken loveee these

  • Waiting for a cruise rebate! Wonder if Trafalgar does em

  • Will booking the high tea online work for this offer?

Edit: Should be fine, book online but pay in person.

  • +1

The Melba restaurant appears as Melba on your cc statement so I'm guessing if you just want to dine then you would have to buy a gift card at the counter

  • Would it work for pre-paid or only with pay at counter?

  • Wow the room in the hotel is $600 and above!

    • +1

Use two amex's and it will be 50% off!!

      • +1

        Would they allow split payments?

        • Why not?

        • @Turd:

Just booked room for $600 in a few weeks for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We had our reception at Langham Melbourne so holds a special place.

Here's hoping they will split the payment across my Edge and Velocity Amex!

        • @hummel: You have to ask them when you checkout/checkin to pay.

        • @hummel: You could just call them up now and ask. :)

  • So there's no reason why I can't buy 2 x $300 gift cards* with 2 totally separate amex cards, and spend them both in the same booking right?
*I know gift cards are officially not allowed and that Amex won't know.

    • +1

      No reason

      • Thanks. I'll probably do this rather than trying to get them to split the payment

Upvote upvote upvote!! CBF Making a new thread so here goes…

    WOOOOOOOP!! Got the notification email!

Thank you for using Amex Offers with your Card ending XX at THE LANGHAM SYDNEY. If your purchase meets the offer terms, you will receive a $150.00 credit. Credits usually take 5 days to appear on your account upon completion of your qualifying transaction, but may take up to 90 days after the offer has ended.

Paid and purchased a $300 gift voucher. A fee of $3.60 was charged.

Going to pick it up when it's ready. There is a $10 deliver fee if you can not pick it up.

    Process and Problems….

I contacted the hotel directly via website - http://www.langhamhotels.com/en/the-langham/sydney/gifts/
They replied saying I need to fill out a form, they attached me a form. THIS ONE -> http://www.turdy.net/profesional/ozbargainer/Food_and_Bevera…
I filled it in stating amount of $300 where it says Monetry Gift Voucher.
Filled in my credit card details!!!
Faxed in the form!!! (this is the most safest way in regards to cc being transfered, no way will I scan and email them back) I mean who has a fax these days LOLOLOL
A few hours later cc was charged and immediately I got the notification email.

Havent got the email to pick it up yet but hopefully that will be soon from the hotel staff.

YMMV… Please contact your local langham hotel about ordering gift cards directly. The above is only for SYDNEY.

Now should I do it for my other AMEX's or not…….. HMMMMMMMMM LOL!!!

EDIT: If I see lot's of langham sydney vouchers on eBay you all should give me $50 of your cut for my hard work!!

    • well done turd… WELL DONE

    • Sounds like a convoluted why to buy a gift card. I wonder if they still use paper vouchers.

      • Anything for a bargain! 50% off is great. Didnt take me long to print, write up scan, send email. And picking it up is on way to work.

    • I looked at the form you filled in. it says in front of Monetary Value:
"For use at The Langham, Sydney toward Food & Beverages in Palm Court or Kent Street Kitchen only"

Does this not mean it couldn't be used towards accomodation/spa etc?

      • Yes. Im only going to use it for the Kitchen, so 50% dining.
If you wanted the other stuff in the hotel website enter the values for..

        ACCOMMODATION

They will contact you I guess.

      • +1

I got another form to buy accommodation!! Same process! But different form..

Hmmmmmm Should I spend this money or not. LOL but 50% off is great!! HMMMMMMMM

    • Thanks!

    • Keen to know as well.

    • Did you try this out?

  • Anyone tried purchasing vouchers from Melbourne Langham yet?

  • +2

Confirm it works at melbourne langham. Get the voucher at podium level flavour of langham giftstore

    • Hi, so you got it at the Langham hotel - podium level gift store?

      • Yep

        • Thanks, the vouchers are available are dining vouchers, spa vouchers, hotel vouchers correct? Are there vouchers which you can use for anything? I believe they have to be used in one go and any unused amount will be forfeited?

        • @lilkid28: yes to all of your questions. As family of 4, $300 would be spent easily on the buffet for us.

        • @IMBI3: are they specific vouchers? Like if it's a dining voucher and it can't be used at the spa?

Compared to crown gift cards which you can spend at the hotel or dining?

        • @bluedufflecoat: It can be used for accommodation, dining and spa

        • @IMBI3: thank you. That's great.

    • can confirm the same too

  • Also combined with entertainment book for dining at melba?

  • Also combined with entertainment book for dining at melba?
How long is the gift voucher expires?

  • Anyone want to go halves on a Langham voucher?

  • If cant use $300 in 1 go, best to get $150 x2 or $100 x3 since unused amount on voucher is forfeited, correct?

  • They do have restaurant vouchers but if i was planning on using the entertainment app which gives 25% off how would i go about that?
I would have to buy the credit not the vouchers? Why would you need to spend it all in one go… wouldnt it work like a normal gift card?

  • Langham offer has reached maximum limit, unable to register now.

  • +1

The best rates are definitely the 'Advance Purchase' rates on the langham website. The amex terms say advance purchases aren't included via external booking places… can anyone confirm or deny that the advance purchase made on the langham website would qualify? Would it work if I booked over the phone, and paid via phone?

    • Anybody try what @tori has asked here; i.e. Advance Purchase rate? I would like to do the langham sydney but as noted this is the best way 'financially' to do so :-)

  • Thanks mate, just bought 3 * $100 voucher at the giftshop in Melbourne, paid at the counter and instantly got the cash-back notification from amex.

    • Are you referring to Langham voucher? Is it a generic voucher which can be used for anything from accomondation to spa to dining?

      • Yeah, the Langham voucher. It's the "Hotel services voucher".
The lady at the desk said I can use this for the spa, restaurant and "even accommodation".

They have more specific vouchers as well, like the spa for example.
I don't see why you'd buy one of those, unless you're trying to buy a specific service as a present for someone.

Going to buy another $300 voucher tomorrow with my other Amex, this was a low-risk trial run to make sure the cash-back email comes through.

        • So in theory - you could buy 3 x 100 from here ?

          http://www.langhamgifts.com.au/hotel-services/all-access-vou…

        • @droodle: Probably. The girl at the desk bought it "via the website" and needed to key in my amex manually, so it's probably the same system.
I'm just going to buy another from the hotel tomorrow because I know it works. I'll also ask "what happens to the balance if I don't redeem it all in 1 transaction" and "can I use multiple vouchers for 1 purchase" just to be safe.

        • @idonotknowwhy:

Please let us know… for eg. if we can use say 6x $100 vouchers for a $600 bill. Thank you.

        • @lilkid28: I just asked; Yep, you can use 6 x $10 vouchers for a $600 bill.
I forgot to ask what happens to the balance if you don't use the entire voucher.

        • @idonotknowwhy:

          silly question - why 3 x $100, rather than just a single $300?

        • @Arghs: The hotel services voucher can be spent at the restaurant and the spa.
I didn't know how much each of these would cost, and I don't know if my wife will want to use the spa or not (birthday surprise), so I wanted some flexibility when spending them.

For those that are going quite frequently to Melba.

Consider joining the Langham Supper Club for an additional 15%. (Not sure if it stacks - capped at $150 as opposed to the Entertainment Book.)

    http://www.langhamhotels.com/en/the-langham/melbourne/dining…

The annual membership fee looks quite steep at $175.

Finally Bought some Gift voucher from Langham..

    • In store or Online? which city?

      • I did one hotel room booking over the phone prepaid rate in sydney -> success

I walked in to the spa in sydney and did another > success

      • I filled the Gift voucher form for Sydney Langham… Immediately got confirmation from Amex…
        Probably gonna use for SPA

  • +2

Must redeem entire voucher in one transaction.
    Any remaining balance is forfeited.
Source: the worker at the Flavours of Langham gift shop at the Langham Melbourne today.
Hence I got two $150 vouchers rather than a $300 one. That's two dates at Melba :)

    • I am so glad I read your comment here! I just bought vouchers with large denominations, lucky they are happy to re-issue the gift vouchers with a smaller denomination once I send mines back!
