  • Anyone know if I can add a stop over in UAE for a few days to these fares?

    • Nope
Tried with a previous deal. Impossible to be done unless you want to pay 2k return as I tried multiple attempts

  • Its very funny how etihad treat their local market. If you are going to get a return flight from AHU to SYD on same dates they will charge you $400 extra. http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?&oc=SYD&dc=AUH&dd=… . Anti dumping law?

    • To be fair, a return flight from MEL to AUH is an extra ~$500 (using the same flights as the cheap prices above).

  • Just returned from Europe yesterday on Etihad. My seat was not reclining on the AUH-SYD leg, 13 hours of seating upright. Is there anywhere I can lodge a complaint?

    • What seat number were you?

    • +1

You can buy anti recline devices off Ebay. Did the person behind you look a bit smug?

      • +1

It was the fault with the seat, person behind me was more than happy for me to recline.

        • +1

There's a little tab/lever on the seat that allows/stops the recline capability. Perhaps that was all that's wrong? The seats are all identical, but they typically want to stop the seats in front of an emergency exit from reclining (to keep it clearer). On large planes this isn't usually a problem as the exit aisles don't have seats in front of them.

There's a similar lever or button on the end of the row that stops the arm rest from being raised. That's easy to find as it's normally at the root of the arm rest. The recline lever is there, but not easy to find.

        • +1

@banana365: Yes I know, pressed the button harder, pushed the seat back with both hands, no luck. Steward said "we are sorry", that's it.

        • @bargainaus: It's not the normal recline button in the arm rest I'm talking about, it's not something you can reach when you're sitting in it (unless you've got strangely long and flexible arms). When I've seen it checked/changed by flight attendants they reach more or less underneath the seat and near the back.

  • Any specials from Darwin to anywhere?

  • +1

Any deals from Melbourne to Amsterdam or Berlin in late July/early August 2017?

  • I guess when most airlines are squeezing 3-4-3 to a 777, that's what will happen,

these airlines which are treating Y passengers like cattle are considered discount airlines at best.

of course they like to put movie stars in first class for the ad they are playing on TV

UAE is not an ideal s/o destination IMO

  • Any chance you have flights Melbourne to Geneva
