Can you use these to pay for PlayStation Plus?

    • +7

      Yes !

      • +3

Haven't used PS Plus yet but can you use multiple cards to pay for yearly subscription?

        • +6

This is money into your PS wallet

        • +2

Yes, the cards just add credit to your account.

      • Why are you downvoted though…?

        • i think someone didn't like the !

        • Xbox Bois

    • Can't see why not!!! I used them last year!!

  • +7

Damn I have been waiting for ages for a decent sale on these as my plus account is due for renewal in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately no 7-11 in S.A :(

    • +3

What?! They always seem to exclude you, along with WA, from all the sales; even establishments?? That's just evil! It's like you're in a different country. 7-11 is like a ubiquitous convenient store. I feel for you mate!

      • +1

Yeah i know we end up with OTR 'on the run' stores instead……and they don't have discounted cards :(

  • +2

great deal, thanks EC. Another christmas present sorted

  • +1

Cheers, Do the PS plus monthly region games vary by region (eg US vs AU accounts) or they are all the same for all regions?

my US PS plus is expiring soon and thinking about getting the AU Plus

    • +2

Same games for all regions now.

      • +2

Not for all regions. Only the same in US and AU (EU).

JP has its own PS plus monthly games.

    • +1

typically they are the same… however keep in mind that any you've downloaded using your US account will no longer be playable if you let your US sub run out

the only time we get different games is if they include something that is banned over here… its pretty rare these days

    • +1

I think that if you have a US subscription (like me) the best deal will be to get a US voucher during the black Friday sale, that's what I've been doing for the last two years anyway.
      Cheers.

  • +2

Sometimes coles sells them at 20% off

    • So do we wait?

    • +1

It’s rare, and becoming rarer. JB and Dick Smith used to do 25% of about every 6 months, but that has been over a year now from memory.

  • Thanks, these were on sale for 20% off just over a year ago but other than that Coles sale for 10%, haven't really been discounted since. Worth stocking up for PS Plus yearly subscription and for those double discount sales on PSN store that pop up every few months.

  • Great way of bringing PS+ back down to the pre-price hike rate.

    • +6

what price hike? the price didn't change for Australia… it changed for the US and actually bought it closer to being in line with other countries such as ours…

      • The 3 month rate increased by $5 I think.

        • Yeah, it went from $19.95 for 3 months to $27.95. Annual price is still the same.

Damn, no 7-Elevens in SA :(

        • +3

          @Graffin:

Im happy to help , I buy a $1 coffee everyday from there

      • I distinctly recall reading another Ozbargain post that indicated it would be going up by $10. Guess I misunderstood. Thanks.

    • Or just bringing their ludicrous digital game prices down to reality.

  • +4

I was about to say 'damn, I just had to renew my PS Plus subscription 2 days ago' but then I realised we don't have any 7 Elevens in SA anyway.

  • Can luckily get them through my Mother in Law for 30% off, think she gets them (and Microsoft) for around 25% off, but helps me out a bit :)
Already preordered Last Guardian, effectively paying $56 digitally, as I did for Uncharted 4. Sony luckily has decent online pricing on launch.

    • +24

Getting favours off mum in law is definitely putting yourself into debt rather than gaining a bargain

      • Better than the alternative :)

    • +6

Where does the Mother in Law get them from?

Interesting note, you can rearrange the letters of "Mother in Law" to spell "Woman Hitler"

      • Her own business… Distributors.

        • +10

No chance she'd do an ozbargain discount exclusive for psn cards?

    • +2

yeah sony exclusives always have fair pricing on the PSN store. Third party games such as COD or ubisoft games are however a ripoff

  • Finally, been holding off getting a PS Plus account until a sale came on PS gift cards. Thanks

    • How long have you been without online gaming and how many months of free games did you miss out on to save $10.

      • 1 month, as a true ozbargainer, I can't purchase anything for full price, when I know it will come on sale. I only play BF, so not too bad.

  • +3

Anyone know if jb hifi pricematch gift cards?

  • perfect timing - renewal due in 2 weeks. thanks OP

  • +4

when my yearly pass expired; psn sent me a message with a discount if I renew again. so wait until they send you a message. buy these cards at 15% off and they will offer you another discount to renew. win win

    • I let my yearly subscription expire as well. Wasn't using it too much at the time. Resubscribed about 2 months later. No discount email received in that time.

Though I did pay for the new subscription from credit left over from the last Coles gift card discount. ;)

      • +1

Sorry my mistake. they offered me 15 months for 12 months pay

PlayStation®Plus Membership: 15 Months for the Price of 12 (Subscription)

        • Sounds good to me. Wish they'd have sent me the same.

      • When you resubscribe, do you get access to the free games you downloaded previously again?

        • +2

          you do indeed

        • @Miso: Thanks!

    • How much discount did they give you?

      • PlayStation®Plus Membership: 15 Months for the Price of 12 (Subscription)

  • My ps plus was going to expire this Friday! Big thanks OP!

  • How can SA people get hold of this deal?

    • +5

I can buy you some if you want

      • Thanks will pm you later

    • Travel to Melbroune

      • +10

        Thanks. Just booked first class

  • so many PSVR games to get… this has come at a good time (or bad time depending on how you look at it)…..

  • Can this be used for PS Now?

  • Which stores would have them?

    • +6

Any stores with a big "7/11" sign out the front

      • including the 7/11 fuel stations?

        • +1

Exactly what I meant. Most petrol ones do not store gift cards.

Perhaps only city convenience stores which under pay students?

  • -6

Cleaned out the two Brisbane cbd stores

    • -1

Loser. Try thinking about other people.

I could have bought 10 from the only WA CBD store. Instead, I considered others, and bought two.

      • There were only 6 cards between the two stores - I wouldn't categorise that as being greedy. I wanted to buy some games plus re-subscribe to ps plus for 12 months. Why am I a loser for wanting to get a good deal? Some people will inevitably miss out yes, but that's just the reality of it.

        • +1

You probably could've just phrased that better, and gotten a lot less hate.

        • @NiteMice: I agree

  • So I'm new to the psn world and plus. How many of these do I buy to get psn plus? And what are people playing? I'm still playing fallout 4 lol I like to take my time.

    • Lol got a neg for asking a question. Wtf!!

    • +2

      Hey bud it depends.
      1 month is $10
      3 months is $28
      12 months is $70

    • At the moment I'm currently enjoying titan fall 2. Pretty good in my opinion, it feels really refreshing to play instead of call of duty.

      • Ty 4 reply :)

        • playing dragon Quest builders. Quite fun while I wait for FF 15.

        • @Shanda: 👍

    • +4

3x $30 for $76.50 will get you a year of PS+ and $20 to spend on the store. The best value is 12 months.

  • I can't find any cards. Has anyone had any luck around Sydney

    • +1

Hey mate, there's about 4-5 left in the Enmore petrol station 7-11. I was just there.

  • Cool. I'll have a look around my area.

  • +1

Just in time for my PS+ renewal at the end of this month :)

  • There was ONE left at Rowville, VIC. I got that one. I then found nine more at Ringwood, where there were probably ten more left after I got mine.

Be prepared to stand around a while. They take some time to scan and it doesn't take much time for a queue to form.

  • Managed to find some in Melbourne CBD. Actually seemed to have tonnes left in stock.
Bought just enough for PS+, which expires in 2 days. Perfect Timing!

    • Which store?

Edit: Cnr Elizabeth and Latrobe had heaps

      • +1

        Cnr Elizabeth and Flinders

  • +1

Isn't this a cheaper alternative if you're willing to do a bit more work?

    • It's pretty easy and hardly constitutes work, but I get what you mean. This is a good alternative for those really wanting PS+ access but none of the positives that are account specific, such as cloud uploads.
      Good post.

  • Thanks OP! Found 2 cards in the Haymarket store.

  • Bought some today at Queen street near Flinders St Station (Melb) they had heaps

  • I was hunting them down for the Black Friday sales. For some inner north western Sydney peeps living in the other shire i checked out the following. Toongabbie, Seven Hills and Baulkham Hills had none. Kellyville had two left and Castle Hill had a mad phat stack of about 1.5 inch thick on the rack. would say close to 10+. That was last night though.

  • You can get $150 PS store credit for $117.5 if you pair this offer with an AMEX offer that requires the use of one of the following, Apple Pay, Samsung Wallet or Android Pay. Good if you want to buy the Final Fantasy XV Digital Premium Edition ($137.95 on PS Store).

    • Android Pay doesn't work with AMEX at 7/11. It needs to be inserted.
Already tried to get a discounted Myki top-up like this in the past.

      • Yeah, didn't work for me either… still.. 15% off is good enough, just wish i could've gotten the $10 off from there as well.

  • For anyone looking for these in Melbourne, the 7-Eleven on Flemington Road has piles of them - however they're hidden behind a massive stack of $50 ones. There was a good 20 of them left.

Weirdly the cashier wouldn't let me pay for them on card to buy half a dozen, I had to pay cash!

    • Weirdly the cashier wouldn't let me pay for them on card to buy half a dozen, I had to pay cash!

      They can't do that.

  • Took 4 stores in Sutherland Shire to get them but then have seen in some others

  • I see this ends December 5th.
Does this mean it's still on today, or it ended at midnight already?

    • +1

      It's still on today.
