30% off Pro Gaming Accessories (Razer, Logitech, Audio-Technica, Corsair) @ JB HI FI (Excludes Wheels)

791
92SJQE9N21E71B

Code was given out at PAX Melbourne

Unclear what "pro gaming" entails - I would try whatever you're after and seeing if the deal works.

Maximum 3 items per customer.

Code is not unique. May be used online without having the physical printout.

Code was mispelled on the printout.

May come in handy if you have OSCEs tomorrow. I would get an AT2020USB+ but I enjoy having a girlfriend and also being able to afford rent and food.

Many thanks to franksaxx on reddit.

  • Code is not unique.

Can confirm. My PAX handout has the same code.

jb-hi-fi is really overcharging us for the g502 rgb

    • +2

I was looking for g430s the other day. $117 at JB hifi, got them for like $63 at MSY…

    • Yes, and the Deathadder Chroma is $139 ($97.3 after discount).

MSY is $64 ($51.20 after their 20% discount).

      Disappointing.

Edit: Looks like haitim01 has already pointed this out. Nevertheless, still a ridiculously high price.

      • If you don't mind me asking, how'd you get the 20% discount for MSY? I've been looking to buy a G502 mouse lately, but I've just been waiting for a discount or a price drop.

  • +4

Has anyone tried to get a price match on something and then use this code in-store?

  • Terms and conditions states that it can only be used once :(

    Can anybody confirm?

    • Maybe it's talking about in-store?? If the code is the same everywhere, then would the bar codes be??

  • +18

I honestly can't see anything even with 30% off, that makes this worthy of an upvote. 30% off just seems to bring it in line with other stores on staticice. Is there something in particular that's a good deal?
    I'm curious is all.

    • +1

      Logitech G403 wired/wireless mouse

Really the only thing that i can see that is the same price as computer stores.

I have the wired and it's an amazing mouse.

      • +1

Corsair m65 pro seems would be a good price as well, though I don't know anything about it. I still use a g9x.

        • Yeah that too.
I prefer the G403 as it's much lighter at 87 grams compared to corsair's 115 grams.

        • Awesome mouse, thanks man.

      • Do you have any other mouse that you can compare it to? What do you think of it?

  • +20

How much of this crap do they actually move at these prices? I wouldn't pay the 30% off prices, let alone the full prices.

    • +1

Typical price inflation. Though I reckon their promotion for Sony MDR 1000x at $493 is quite reasonable given that you used 10% off jb hifi gift cards

      • 10% off jbhifi gift cards? Where do you get them?

        • +1

Ahh, its already too late, yesterday coles got 10% off for ultimatekids card. But they run out of stock quickly anyway

    • +5

How do you expect players to get good without their $5000 gaming chairs/peripherals?

  • +4

Will this make me a pro at Battlefield?

  • +3

    "pro gaming"

  • might pop down to jb hifi to try out the m65 pro wanting a more comfy mouse :)

  • +2

Doesn't work on ATH50x Oh well. I'll wait until the next deal.

How can I counsel a woman on breastfeeding?

      • Good luck ladies/gents. I remember traumatically redoing the stations I did poorly in my sleep for the next 2 weeks afterwards

        • Thanks. I have 16 stations over 2 days so there will definitely be a lot to dream about

      • +2

Give her a leer and a wink, Tony

  • +2

I've been wanting a good USB microphone for a while and the Audio Technica AT2020USB+ would be $131.60 if the code works for it. That's pretty bloody good.

    • +1

      Don't do this to me

      • +5

I cannot get the code to work on the Audio Technica AT2020USB+.
Would have bought it instantly if I could have got it at that price and then worried about the wife later.

If someone can get the code to work on it, let me know how as $131.60 is an absolute bargain.

        • I have that microphone and it's awesome! Well… I have the AT2020USBi but don't use any mac products so it's the same as the +. Works great!

  • The Corsair Mice seem to be good value if you compare it to prices on staticeice. Tempting indeed.

  • Doesn't seem to work on controllers?

    • +6

Duh, Pro gamers only use Keyboards and Mice! (j/k) :P

  • +2

Is there anything this code has been confirmed as working with? Everything I tried failed.

    • +1

I can confirm this works with the Corsair Scimitar RGB mouse. I've wanted one for a while and JB's price was roughly inline with other retailers so I jumped on it.

  • +1

for mechanical keyboards would stay clear of any of the trash JB hifi sells

    • +6

You clearly haven't tried any of Corsair's offerings. The K70s come down to around $130, which is cheaper than PLE's current $150 special.

      • +4

I would recommend ducky, cooler master, filco, KUL or varmilo over anything corsair/razer/logitech!

I guess technically the K70 is a good price for what the normal RRP is, but for people who want something comparable in price but much higher in quality the above are also great alternatives! :)

        • +5

I'm happy as long as they're Cherry MX switches

        • +3

I don't think it's fair putting corsair in the same basket as logitech and razer, they may not be the best, but they are clearly better.

        • +1

          Only HHKB Pro2 will do.

        • @FatBlanket:

          can confirm
          typing on one now ;)

        • @moneybaby:

even nowadays the mechanical keyboard enthusiast affection towards cherry switches has somewhat diminished.

Gateron switches are becoming the new cherry mx! (smoother, more tactility, cheaper!)

        • @Kapinny: That's interesting, is there a board you would recommend with these switches?

        • @moneybaby:

Varmilo, (some variants of the magicforce 68) custom DIY kits (purchase the gateron switches off aliexpress/ebay), group buys from the r/mechanicalkeyboards subreddit for those "boutique" keyboards eg tata68, mini van, planck and the ultra expensive korean customs.

Ewww OSCEs. That brings back bad memories.

    • +1

Everyday is an OSCE now… Multiple times daily.

      • Do you guys have time to play games when doing medicine :)

        • +3

          Depends if you do anaesthesia.

        • I had time to create Price Hipster and a few Android apps before that. Medicine isn't quite as hard as people think. The hardest part is often getting in.

        • @jazoom: Med school is peanuts compared to juggling full time work as a reg and trying to study for the college exams and research to buff up the CV. That said, being able to afford buying a good PC (OCed i5 / GTX1080) to play COD Infinite Wars and de-stress after work is nice.

        • @Pesty: I know. I've been out of med school a couple of years now but I still work hard to find time for coding. I couldn't be a med reg, or any other that is so demanding on lifestyle for so many years. You guys work really hard.

I actually didn't start Price Hipster until after I started work as an intern. I did have more time as a student.

  • +11

What's the point of 30% off if products are marked up by 200% to begin with?

  • +1

The only time I go into JB now is the 20% off Blu rays and DVD sales

They are not allways cheaper even though thats what their sign says

  • Are you able to print out the coupon and present it? Or do I need the original physical copy? Anyone tried it?

    • +1

Honestly I wouldnt bother because the code is printed incorrectly and the barcode wont scan. Just use it online.

  • i love this guy

  • +1

their "pro gaming" stuff is super overpriced to begin with. meh

  • +1

I wonder if they upped the prices on these brands before giving out this code, I was checking out some logitech speakers to buy yesterday. JB has them for 169 and officeworks and harvey norman had them at 98. Safe to say I didn't go to JB

  • $90 isn't too bad for the PS4 headset

Ignore… didn't read the conditions on the photo.

  • was keen to get a G502 but still cheaper at other computer shops :|

  • +2

Corsair K70 RGB LUX cheapest on staticice ~$195 (there is a $189 but probably requires shipping)

    At JB, it's $167.3 with the code… so i suppose that's a plus.

P.S. pick up not available, needs $4.95 shipping.

    • For anyone considering this, the red version (not RGB) is cheaper: K70 LUX Red $125.30

Personally I dont need RGB leds, so I'd go cheaper.

  • Tried it on the ATH-m50x but no good. Works for Audio Technica gaming headphones though.

  • they don't sell the Razer Blade do they?

  • jb-hifi sale price = msy normal price…

  • +2

1 example of the awesomeness of this "Sale"

    JB Hifi DeathAdder Chroma:
    Ticket Price: $139
    "Sale" Price: $97.30

    MSY DeathAdder Chroma
    Normal, Everyday price: $64.00

    • +4

MSY is also having 20% off on Razer peripherals which makes it $51 :)

      • +1

        I love your profile pic

  • Not a deal unfortunately, as JB sell all their Razer, Logitech, Audio-Technica, Corsair gear for pretty much twice the price of anyone else. Literally every last product item can be had cheaper elsewhere at non-sale prices, even after the 30% off at JB's.

See this deal for much better sale Razer prices for example https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/274725

JB's have become the new Dick Smith of late. Really terrible value across the board.

    • +2

Not too sure about the other brands but i do know their corsair gear are roughly around the market price, still more expensive than other places but if you take the 30% into consideration, the corsair gear isn't too badly priced atm, would be better if they bring the keyboards inline with the market price instead of being 20% dearer.

  • anyone got the Surface code which was at one of the booths? Does it stack with the education discount or anything else?

  • I got this: "The coupon conditions have not been met. Please check the coupon conditions."

    • What item did you use it on?

      • Audio Technica AT2020USB+ USB Microphone

  • +2

I got the Corsair M65 Pro Gaming Mouse delivered for $67.25 after 30% discount (normally $89 + $4.95 delivery), current price at MSY is $85 pickup.

    Works for me :)

  • If you bought the samsung washing machines (Pricing error)
DONT FORGET that JB Hi-Fi gave you $10 gift card if you made the purchase, check your email.

Do you guys think this is really a good time to buy anything as The $ USD will coming down?

  • +1

Cheers, I got the Corsair K70 RGB LUX for $172 cheaper than anywhere else at the moment. A good deal for corsair keyboards in general, cheaper than MSY and the others.

    • The red switch doesnt give you satisfaction,
I reckon brown is good , not too loud yet give you tactile feedback

They only had the K95 model

    • Hey bro. I ordered the same K70 RGB LUX and my order still says "in progress" on my jb hifi account page.
I emailed about the status today (5 days since order) and they say they are still "trying to source" stock.
I don't understand how they cannot monitor their inventory stock levels in realtime.
How the frig can you sell stock that may not exist.
This sounds exactly why dicksmith went bust….
Have you got any updates on your order?

  • tbh the only thing i used jb hifi is for testing gear (like mouses etc) and then go down to msy and buy em for a better price . i understand msy would be hard to compete with but ive seen things go over 50%of the price of msy's pricing at jb
