    Still too expensive for razer.

    • +12

From my previous experience with razor .. wouldnt buy another razor product.

      • +1

Do they have bad customer service or is it a problem with the product? Am genuinely curious.

        • +9

Their products are expensive … while quality doesnt justify it.

        • +12

My experience is bad quality control and overpriced. I'm sticking with corsair and logitech.

        • +1

I've owned a few Razer products in the past. Quality of the products are not the best I must say. Although it does seem that they have been improving the on quality in recent years.

        • +1

          build quality sucks.
Mouse buttons not responding. Mouse sensor failing. Keyboards LED burning out. Keys not working/responsive. The list goes on.

        • +2

Have keyboard, mouse, mic using and headphones previously. Compare to Logitech or other brands it's overpriced. There was very bad stability problem on its cloud driver management client synapse, but now is alright.

If you aren't working but in school just get Logitech.

        • looks shiny and solid but it feels very light and the button stopped working

        • @phil1311: Even corsair and logitech aren't exactly innocent of poor quality products at a premium. I use to have a Corsair k95(white led version that costed close to 200 at the time), where 1-2 LED lights would burn out every month. I thought i had a dud, but the new one i got from RMA started doing the same thing a few months down the road. I bought an m95 mouse along with the keyboard at the time, a few months down the road the scroll wheel would spaz out every now and then, scrolling me all the way to the bottom of the page when i touched it the wrong way. Apparently both of these problems weren't isolated and other people experienced it too.

I had a logitech mx 950 that would double click randomly a year down the line, another common problem. This was a relatively pricey mouse too.

I'm not saying razer is any better (i had a membrane keyboard from razer where a handful of keys would feel different), but don't rely on brand loyalty, you should judge them on a product to product basis.

      • Agree. My RGB Naga Mouse lost most of the LED colours after 1 year of use =/

WD drives are expensive when they failed, taking all your data with it :(

      • +3

What do WD drives have to do with this deal?

  • Good price for the Firefly $51 and Leviathan $176

  • +1

my razer barracuda headphones and lachesis (v1) are still working perfectly to this day

did product quality go down hill after these releases?

    • +7

      no

they were always crap. you just used up all the luck in your life getting the non defective one

      • +9

        Rip storyteller

        • :(

        • @storyteller: to be fair, razer is overpriced but I have somehow gotten some amazing deals on some brand new razer items such as Blackwidow Battlefield 4 Ultimate ($90) and a Razer Deathadder World of Tanks ed ($24) and they are both working sweet as hunny. Be it luck or something, I am pretty happy with my Razers though I do agree you can get better value from Corsair or Logitech.

    • +1

I agree. We still have 6+ year old Razer mice in circulation. Never had one go bad yet.

  • +2

I own a Razer Mamba. Battery blew up within 6 months. Pretty disappointed, considering how much I paid for it.

    • Thats exactly what happened to me haha… that was their top of the line mouse.

    • +7

      blew up?
      like a note 7?

    • +2

I have a mamba V1, now getting ghost clicks, and its falling apart. Build quality definitely isn't as good as the others, back to Logitech.

      • just set the click rate lower to stop ghost clicks.

        • Didn't seem to the be the software, sometimes i was getting double clicks on a single, and clicks not registering at all, so it seemed to be the actual switch playing up.

      • +1

        Ghost clicks?

        Spoopy

  • Decent price for Deathadder chroma

  • +1

someone generate a list and price please =]

    • I was hoping that was what this deal was gonna be lol
I'd already seen the Facebook post

  • +2

I've been looking for a new mic. The Razer Seiren is a bit overboard but $140 isn't a bad price for the quality.

    • +2

Gonna be a real hard job for me to not buy a Seiren at this price, but I'm gonna try my best. Must resist.

    • To whoever downvoted my comment, please direct me to either a USB microphone, or a USB mixer & condenser mic combination that's as good for the same price.

      Edit: Still awaiting your recommendations

      • Here's Jayztwocents video on cheap but good mic and/or mixer setups

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kXwjXkr_kNc

        • +1

Try finding that mixer though. It ends up being just as expensive as the Razer. If you want something with phantom power (which I would if I were going that route), mixers get very expensive.

    • I know pretty much nothing about microphones. How is this compared to stuff like a blue snowball or yeti? Or even a lapel mic like the Audio-Technica ATR3350iS.

      • The Razer is basically a Yeti Pro. They're both perfectly fine, they're just (IMO) a bit overpriced, especially in Australia. At this point you do start reaching the point of diminishing returns :P

The AT lav mic sounds okay from what I've heard on Youtube, and it's definitely convenient and once again perfectly fine, depends what you're looking for really :) Won't sound as good as desktop condenser mic, but if size and portability are a priority then go for it. I've been thinking about getting one as well, actually.

    • The new pro one is good.

  • +6

Don't understand the hate on Razer. I use a mouse and keyboard and both are still perfect 3 years on. Never had friends complain about their gear either. In fact, I've never had a better built keyboard. Thing feels like it could survive a nuke blast.

All the Logitech peripheral stuff on the other hand hasn't fared so well.

Everyone has different experiences I guess.

    • It's just cool to hate stuff… Apple… Call of Duty… Razer…

    • +1

      Consider yourself lucky.
I had a Black widow ultimate DOA. You'd think they'd QC the dam keyboard before shipping. It's the top of the line and was the most expensive mechanical keyboard they offered back then.
Ordered it from U-Mart if that makes any difference.

    • My experience over the last 10+ years with Razer gear has been pretty darn good! I've owned many mice, keyboards and mousepads and I've only ever had an issue with one (some silly dual-sided mousepad where the adhesive was rubbish, probably due to the 40 degree heat). I've currently got a Razer Firefly and Mamba Wireless and absolutely have no issues with them!

… I rarely have any issues at all with my PC or peripherals though :P maybe I'm lucky!

This K70 Lux keyboard is better than any Razer keyboard I've typed on though, absolutely prefer this over any of the models they make :)

I'm tempted to pick up the Razer Sieren for a mic but I'll have to do some research tonight

    • Guess it depends, for me the black widow ultimate has lasted perfectly over the years, my death adder was a 6 month defective piece of shit though.

    • Once owned a Naga2012. Broke within 3 weeks, went back, refunded it and got a SteelSeries Kinzu V2 pro, which lasted 4 years and died due to to a bad firmware flash

  • +1

I despise going into msy. would rather more than ho there.

  • +3

All three razer products I purchased have failed in some manner.
A Blackwidow mechanical keyboard I purchased had the spacebar and a few other keys stop working.
Deathadder scroll wheel stopped working. (I really liked the design of the mouse)
Razer Imperator 2012 mouse sensor started spazzing out, rendering it unusable.

Each to their own, but I won't buy any other Razer product. Logitech products have been decent for me.

  • Why don't MSY stock the Logitech G910

  • -2

i feel sorry for Razer products, they are like Donald Trump.

  • +2

Used to be a Razor fanboy… After couple of mice and one expensive keyboard stopped working in short order, I never looked back.

    • +1

So much for being a fanboy, Razor…

      • I said I'm no longer… hahaha

  • My Razer Mantis mouse mats are still going strong after many years.

  • Shouldn't there be a razer 50% off sale coming up?> did they win any awards this year?

  • +1

Would avoid all Razer products. $145 for a mechanical keyboard, crap build quality, terrible software (Synapse). Their software team couldn't even be bothered to track down a bug that required me to login to their keybinding software on every boot in order to use my custom bindings. I can thus say their service is as bad as their software and build quality.

Some of their stuff looks nice though. Though much doesn't appeal to me, I can see why others like it.

  • +1

Anyone who have experienced a better quality mouse than Razer brands at a lower price?

    • Logitech, my 8+ year old G5 mouse is still going strong. I've used the G7, and G400 and both are really good.

      • +2

The G7 wasn't very good… lasted 2.5 years before button stopped working properly.
The G105/G9x is rock solid though… given 4? 5? years with no problems despite the bashing they've had.
My current G910/G700s are too new to say one way or the other…
But Logitech on the whole are much more reliable than Razer.
I've had nothing but trouble with numerous Razer stuff, even brand new (i.e. Lycosa).
The only Razer stuff I buy now are mouse pads…

    • It depends which Razer mice you're using as a base point as to whether it's a lower price, but I'm quite fond of my Mionix Naos 7000. You'd probably have to import one but it cost me about $65 (AUD) from the US. Awesome quality and so very, very comfortable.

    • SteelSeries' Rival 300 is an amazing mouse. The sensor is really nice, ergonomic shape, huge side grips that keep it from slipping, etc. It's awesome, and I'd genuinely recommend it.

  • I use a stack of Razer items… Find the new releases in the past 2 years have been amazing quality. Fantastic company that's really turned themselves around.

  • I've got a Tartarus and a Death Adder 2 that have been rock solid for many years, was always curious about the Razer hate but I've just been lucky I guess.

  • Went in and bought a Sieren today. I'm pretty happy with it so far! Picks up maybe a bit too much background noise but it's not a big problem, just something to keep in mind.

  • Donald Trump manages America better than Razer makes gaming hardware.

  • Never have bought a razer product, they always just looked plasticy (flimsy) for the price. Saying that , In about 7 years I have gone through 2 Logitech Mouse (using everynight for about 3-4 years each) and 4 Logitech headsets, so I got my moneys worth but I would of liked them to last longer.

    Might have a look
