Please be aware of this business. My wife purchased the Samsung phone from its eBay store. The phone had been claimed as AU stock with two-year official warranty. The GST invoice had been issued with ABN 74 164 554 401. Everything looks normal and legitimate until the phone has battery issue and we went to Samsung shop for claim warranty. We have been told phone set was overseas module which excluded from local warranty. We discussed the matter with this business and tried to sort out the solution. They said this was a "human error", but refuse to take any action. So we had no way but lodge the claim to NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. There is no doubt that The Tribunal delivered the order that "UNIQUE MOBILES" should repay the amount of purchase (Notice of Order File No: GEN 15/57847). However, it is quite difficult to pursuit the damages since the business is operating in QLD, but I am in NSW. During the Tribunal's processing, there are a few facts indicating very abnormal business practise, such as they have multiple ABNs, such as ABN: 18114929574 on the website and 74 164 554 401 on the invoice; they have multiple locations: the shop front is at 103 Adelaide St, Brisbane ; they have multiple names: "Unique Mobiles", "Celltech Technologies Pty Ltd" and "My Mobile Group Pty Ltd".

It is not a quite small value goods, hope my experience could help you to make purchase decision.

    • Thanks for bringing it to the community's attention. I was considering pulling the trigger on this deal but not so sure anymore.

    Hello Owen14d,

I would like to know more about your case as we do our best to help out all customers. Our website does sell Australia stock and overseas stock which is clearly marked.
If there was a mix up in the listing we should honour the two warranty through our own repair centre in Brisbane city. I do remember a case where there was a mix up in the listing and we told this to that person, but we never received the phone for warranty repair. If you still are having problems with phone please contact us for warranty claim 07 3188 7580

In regards to the abn's we had a company merge which does take time. Now all trades are through My mobile Group

I can asure you all Samsung s7's in the deal above are 100% Australian stock with Optus branding please call us 07 31887580 if you have any questions

    kind regards
    Sarah

I cannot agree with two-year warranty provided in your repair centre is equivalent to Samsung official warranty applying only to AU local item. You cannot sell Non-Au stock as AU stock by claiming you provide two-year warranty in house. Again, I would like to ask you directly and publicly here, why your business did not response to NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal if you have legitimate argument?

    • +1

I agree, AU stock warranty claims HAVE to be honoured by Samsung, not your local store.
This is the reason people choose to buy AU stock, have you seen the prices of grey imports of this phone on OzB? Well I did, and now am paying the price.

    • +1

I also agree that AU stock is stock which is warranted by Samsung Australia and why I am prepared to pay a bit more than grey imports. It ensures I can take my phone into any Samsung store/repair center and have it repaired in the event of any defect.
