      • Ha! Glad someone got the reference.

I agree with waiting for tickets, and not that I have claimed near the same as you, I have had tickets been active for ages (months) without responses until I re follow up! The latest is still somewhere..

      One of the responses;

Thanks for being so patient while we investigated your xxxxxx transaction.

We were super happy to have the opportunity to try to rectify your rewards, however we did not have success on this occasion. The store has notified us that your purchase with Innovations has not been attributed to Cashrewards and therefore we will not be paid for this sale. Bummer!

There are quite a few reasons why transactions may be attributed to another channel other than Cashrewards. Here are a few the store has specifically told us about:

      Having open other web pages (including search sites, social media, other store sites) or web browsers whilst visiting the store;
      Clicking though to another page from a banner or ad on the store's webpage whilst shopping;
Antivirus/cleanup application tasks may remove tracking cookies (which are required to track transactions).
Use of a coupon code not originated on the Cashrewards site

Even though you have not had success on this occasion, please keep trying! Last month we tracked over 60,000 transactions and gave thousands of dollars back to our members. Have another read over our cashback guidelines as these will assist you in your future purchases.

If you feel you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to email back!

      Kind Regards,
      Emma
      Customer Service

Considering I use a dedicated browser for each and every purchase and take a screen dump of each purchase as this has been tried a few times, then I show that I have made purchase, got the transaction cookies and the item/s at home.. How can they refuse that evidence? They still do though…

Also this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273287) I downloaded before the 200 were up, never got the $1 neither and sent a support email to them, as expected hear from no one to date…

After reading many of the comments and seeing others experience' I am not impressed by the spam either and this could be a make or break (among the alleged non tracking, thus non payments of purchasers) plus having to wait for $5 for a payout, really? Opposition allows no minimum for payouts.. Maybe a bit behind!

Very poor form if it inserts ads onto google like others are saying. That literally makes it adware and no better than the Ask toolbar or any other of that crapware that comes bundled in installers if you're not careful.

I have a suggestion: after the popup appears on a CR enabled site (let's say, ebay.com.au), hide the popup on subsequent pages on the same site. I have just clicked through a dozen ebay pages and it pops up at the top on every single one. Very annoying. Only way to get rid of it is to activate the offer.

      • +1

Out of interest, can you please report back what version of the notifier you have installed? Did you download the latest (v1.0.5) today?

        • Yes, I can confirm I'm using 1.0.5 downloaded today.

    • -1

What about those who dont want to use Chrome, any possibility other browsers will be supported. Not expecting the $1

    • +5

That's a start but it is a lot of saying nothing.

Maybe you can add that it currently inserts advertising into other companies websites to be honest and transparent?

  • +12

Installed… used Google once, horrible adverts on the screen… can't quickly see a way to remove that aspect… removed entire plugin.

  • +4

the things I do for $1 AUD

  • Perhaps the mighty decline of TA..?

    • +8

What makes you say that? Not going anywhere buddy.

negs a user post from a month ago as they disagreed with you classy

    • +2

Not the first time you've been

  • -1

Ad is very intrusive, but it's free money so I can't complain :-)

  • +7

Yes please get rid of the ads on the google page.. very frustrating and take up too much space. Also would appreciate the $1 as an early adopter of this app, downloaded it a few weeks ago as soon as I saw it..

  • +13

    Over-intrusive plugin, removed instantly.

Edit @ downvotes: Clearly some people will defend Cashrewards at all costs. If you've actually used the plugin, you'll notice how intrusive it is on Google search results…

    • +5

@negs: Some people will go to great lengths to defend CashRewards, it seems… Can't handle criticism of their plugin which clearly violates Chrome Store's TOS?

  • +4

All the spam you can handle for a buck

  • +3

I don't even understand how cash rewards even operated as a viable business.

I don't understand why a business would see value including cash rewards in their advertising budget.

It seems to work like this, consumer looks for product they want>>>finds best price/preferred retailer>>>checks to see if they are part of CR>>> If yes proceeded with purchase through CR link / If no precede with purchase as you've already found the best price anyway. I don't get how a business gets value out of those advertising dollars.

    • +2

it is how they are sold the product. Businesses honestly think that people find them through CR!

    • It is like a mechanic in attracting a customer.
Just look at flybuys and woolworths rewards…

    • If two store sell the item at the same best price, I'll pick the one with (higher) cashback.

Many people are too lazy to use cashback. That way business does not have to discount the product for everyone.

Business owners (or staff) purchasing items as expenses. Cashback goes into their personal account.

CR is not a real concept. Similar schemes existed in US for a long time.

"Available only to members that have not downloaded the toolbar previously"

Gee thanks to those who jumped in early…. We get screwed!!!

And yes the plugin can be Over-intrusive. I want a option to close the 'reminder' on sites I'm at. Sometimes I just want to browse without the massive banner in my face!

    • -3

Downloads something for free…somehow still feels ripped off. Millennial much?

      • Oh boohoo to you. No they offered the first so many people $1, I missed that offer but downloaded the toolbar anyhow. Now a few weeks later, they start offering people $1 again.

So yeah, I should have said screw it the first time round!!

  • Well I'm glad I read the comments, looks to be very intrusive plug-in. Not worth $1 it seems

    • Not worth $1 it seems

Wash your mouth out….this is Ozbargain!! ;)

    • Ignore the comments, it is definitely worth installing

  • Installed it to give it a go..
Until theres an option to stop those popups at the top of the screen and no google advertisement hijacking, its staying un-installed

  • Takes up 180MB of memory within Chrome (used on boot!).. for those who are on 2GB or 4GB RAM machines!! lol..

  • How long does it take to be credited or show up at all in My Rewards?

    • +1

Stuhtb has already said last time it took 2 days

    • +1

receive $1 into your Cashrewards account within 72 hours

      • Was more curious if it should show anything up yet (ie pending status in My Rewards).

        • +1

It won't. Just wait a couple of days and it will show up in your account, ready to be withdrawn… if you followed the right steps in the description.

  • Didn't know CR has cashback for NBA League Pass before installing this. Is it only payable when it's paid in AUD (ie. Ripoff price)?

  • +2

    feedback:
allow site by site enable/disable similar to adblock

  • +1

Far more bloated than it needs to be. All it has to do was show a little pop up when I'm on CR-able site alongside how much cashback is on offer. Had potential, but will definitely be deleting it once I get my dollar.

  • Cool, should make it much easier to use cashrewards.

Hope I get my $1 :) I am logged in, but my Chrome account is a different email to my cashrewards account…

  • -7

So you get a dollar for you to get spamed/hacked?

  • -7

The sheeple will install this for the one buck but don't realise cash rewards is a dying industry and that this is just a desperate attempt for a marketing boost

    • +4

Hahahahahahaha you're funny. The cashback comes from Affiliate networks and they're actually growing stronger.

Just look at the growing number of retailers being added to Cashrewards. Apple is a recent one. Do you really think Apple would allow cashback if it was a dying market?

      • +1

better off having a mate sign up to ebay affiliates and use the link.

get paid way more than the tiny amount that CR give you.. and ebay payout monthly so you don't need to wait around for 6 months

        • -1

And how is that related to Affiliate networks supposedly dying?

Besides, eBay have strict criteria and a low cashout rate for their affiliate program. Good luck getting in šŸ‘

        • -1

          @Clear:

i am in the ebay affiliate program, it is not hard

payouts are decent, it is way more than CR

my post has nothing to do with affiliate networks dying? i replied to you not the person you replied to.

CR are just a middleman skimming off the top.

just think someone that clicks through cr and buys $250 item, cr get like $15 you get $0.50 if your lucky.

        • @storyteller: I was responding to someone that was talking about affiliate networks dying. With all the negativity around here…

        • @storyteller: Can you at least provide proof of the % you're getting from the eBay affiliate program? :)

        • -1

          @Clear:

          storyteller

          Name checks out šŸ˜‚

        • @Clear:

          https://partnernetwork.ebay.com/en/home

pretty standard rates, cr would have "special" treatment and probably have higher rates as they would have much higher conversion rates than most partners.

  • +1

I just added this. My reason was not to get the $1, which would have been nice had I been earlier, but because I continually forget to go to Cash Rewards before I buy stuff, and lose out on lots of cashbacks. So this will be a very handy extension. TA, can you please add it to FF as well?
