Here's this week's catalogue for Big W, with the highlight of $46 for Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon.

It's currently the cheapest price for a new release, and heck, maybe for a while too (since Nintendo rarely drop prices).

The game releases on the 18th (Friday).

  • Purchased copies of Sun and Moon for $43.24 each at Big W QV ($46 + 6% off Woolworths egift cards) at 8:29am. They had lots of stock.

    • Guess I'm going to QV

  • *** is the one in EB different from BigW?*****
It is $6x in EB and my wife preordered one in EB. Saying it's an ultimate package with poster ….etc or should I just grab it from EB?

    • +1

The one your wife preordered was probably a collectors edition

up to you if you think it's worth it

      • Is it worth to get both sun and moon?
not sure whether to get both at $92 or only sun collection for $6995

        • +1

Again, it's up to you. What I usually do is get 1 version at launch, then wait for a clearance sale where the go for 20-30 and grab the other version.

  • EB in The Glen refused to price match because "there's no Big W in the region (suburb)"
I don't know if that's policy or the guy being stupid, because I just walked down to JB and price matched

    • It is technically their policy, yea. They aren't meant to pricematch unless the store is close by and has stock.

  • For those in sydney. EB at world square price matched target at $49.

  • A bit new to the DS - I had an old Gameboy emulator and pokemon yellow on my computer back in the day.

Is there a version of pokemon newly released covering these original 151 pokemon only?

    • Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow was re-released on the Nintendo 3DS' eshop (online marketplace) for $13 each.

For the Gameboy Advanced, there's Pokemon FireRed and Leafgreen (revamped versions) which also works on older Nintendo DS consoles (NOT for the Nintendo 3DS).

Those versions cover the 151 pokemons.

    • Nope, the newest game focused (mostly) on the original 151 would be Fire Red/Leaf Green for the GBA.

  • Still plenty of stock @BigW melb cbd at 9.30am

  • Wetherill Park NSW apparently had their order cancelled so they don't have any stock with no ETA of arrival.

Bonnyrigg had plenty but they were behind the counter - not sure if that's standard.

  • no stock at BigW Altona Meadows - was told they were out of stock already by 9.10am

  • BigW Blacktown have them all behind counter so you need to ask them.

    Update from Macquarie Park - NSW - 10:00am 18/11

Just got back from Macquarie Centre - Big W had sold out at 9:30am. (missed it).

Trotted down to Target - they had several of each - $49.

Went up to EB Games - they had them on the shelf for $59.

I asked if they price-matched with Big W - they said no problem, and I bought one of each for $46 each.

Plenty of copies at JB (where I pricematched Big W's $46) and EB Werribee.

JB had sealed copies behind the counter. Should be the same for the rest.

  • Got one in jb sydney galleries Victoria for $46

  • Price matched in JB Parramatta for $46

  • Plenty of copies behind the counter at EB castle plaza/Edwardstown in SA. Price matched with Big W for $46.

  • Price matched at JB in Parramatta Westfield with no problems at all. There isn't even a Big W in the centre.

Thanks for the gift cards, Coke Rewards :)

  • Heaps of stock at Big W Rockdale. I went to the EB Games there as well and got it price matched for $46.

  • Price matched at JB. Just told them it was from Big W and I didn't have to show them anything. There were loads of copies on the shelf.

  • Highpoint still had 5 copies of Sun and about 15 copies of Moon on the shelf this morning at about 9am.

Went to EB to get a price match. They said they would price match Target $49 but was very reluctant. Claimed that they would do it this time but not next time because Target is only discounting because they are closing down their gaming division. Yawn.

  • No stock at Big W Warringah Mall. They said wouldn't restock before deal is over.

Price matched at EB with the catalogue no problems at all.

  • Local big w has restocked but price has risen to $48. Online also shows $48. Still a better price than target at least.
