Note, this does not have the 2160 x 1440 screen, it's 'only' FHD.
Comparing this to something similar would be the Samsung Tabpro S. It has a 12inch but of a higher resolution. It only has an m3 processor compared to the m5 here though. Price-wise, the Samsung is about 1k. So this is almost half price.
In both tablets, you don't have a full USB port (you get an adapter with the Asus); so it's not a complete replacement to a laptop imo (but if apple is doing it…).

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2016

Not having USB 3.0 port for me is the deal breaker…

    • Agree, even my Surface 2 (RT) has a full sized USB 3…

But you do get an adaptor.

I don't mind using an adapter, but that doesn't make the port USB3.0 if it only has 2.0 specs.

        • It runs USB 3.0 through the adapter

        • @ozbooty:
          are you 100% sure? source?

afaik micro usb port can't has usb3.0 specs.

Also from source page - Micro USB 2.0 is listed.

        • @ozbooty:

          That's a micro USB 3.0 -> full sized USB 3.0 ports adapter.

This laptop only has micro usb port and therefore this won't fit.

        • @mg_k: What? Yes I was saying you can run USB 3.0 through the adapter which connects to the micro USB port. The micro USB port on the tablet runs the 3.0 standard.

        • @mg_k: There's a picture of the port in this review somewhere: http://gizmodo.com/asus-transformer-book-t300-chi-review-won…

  • Core™ M 5Y10/5Y71

    so which one is it?

    • Oops, it seems the title says 5y71; but the spec must have been a general one they've copied from somewhere….which I in turn copied.

i have the FullHD 4GB, 128GB SSD and it's the 5Y71. Great little machine. Good Quality Built. I paid $850.
@mg_k I dont miss then USB port, I hardly use the port anyway.

  • wow tempted but my old core duo still working fine with ssd, and usually just use it to browse my NAS.
for commuting i have 6" mobile phone to watch movie on crowded train.
