    Seagate Portable 4TB $183.2

BTW, Cheaper @ Amazon. And has international warranty :)

    • Thanks, removed from title. Some people prefer buying locally, so I'll keep it in the post. I thought warranty is longer for local stock though, quoting you:

Comes with 3 years Warranty compared to only 1 or 2 years when buying from amazon

      • yep, its a mess. Some serial numbers have 1, 2 or 3 years warranty

not sure how seagate does that

but i did upvote because its still a nice deal

  • The XA is such a good looking phone it's a shame it's not a flagship and thus missing many features :(

    • Yes my favourite phone design for this year. A small phone with no BS.

  • Not sure if I should bite the bullet and go for the V6 deal or go for the Hoover cordless one (http://www.godfreys.com.au/hoover-ultra-power-21-6v-cordless…), I hope someone can help me decide. It's a bit of money to put down considering we already have a shark vacuum that's good, but not cordless.

    • I've been trying to decide this as well for the last few deals on Dyson vacs.
$150 cheaper to go with the Hoover one, and also has a 45 minute run time.

Hopefully someone can give us some input that'll help!

    • Can't attest to the Hoover, but I got a Dyson V6 about 6 months ago (for about ~$320, the absolute has more attachment but the same base unit) and can't fault it.

  • Can anyone recommend the Dyson V6 Absolute over the Animal?

Edit: Sorry I mean the V6 Animal not V8

Refer to the most helpful comment from rekabkram here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/275638.

      He explained it crystal clear

      • Cheers thanks for that. It certainly is crystal. Absolute ordered!

From what I know the differences between the Animal & Absolute of any model range are only in the supplied heads/tools (ie. Absolute has 'everything'). The added benefit of the V8 over the V6 series is the longer run time. Simple as that so it's really up to you and your particular needs.

I bought a V8 Absolute last week mainly due to the need for equal hard floor and carpet/rug cleaning needs plus the fact that it can run for a lot longer than the V6 thanks to the better battery and more efficient newer motor (apparently). The V6 didn't quite cut it so I'm glad I waited for the V8 as we can now retire the corded vac completely. Paid $849 which is the RRP but took advantage of the Good Guys store credit promo last week so we should have $200 of vouchers coming our way in a week or two.

      • Thanks for the feedback :)

Wow nice job lyl, can't believe JV has nearly double Neil's comments at 20k

  • The Dyson is not avaible to post to Perth for some reason :-(

  • Thank you OP, pulled the trigger on the V6 Absolute.

  • I have a V6 Fluffy (which is great) but bought the V8 Animal for my mum - it's really, really good.

The lower setting is quiet and good enough for the floorboards to feel clean when walking around barefoot.

They've also improved the emptying function which is worth the upgrade alone.

    • I have floorboards and could easily do our whole house in under 20 minutes.
I have a dog that sheds a bit.

Do you think the V6 Absolute would do the job good enough?
Not sure if I can justify an extra $160 on the V8 Animal

Considering you've seen both the V6 and V8 in action, thought you'd be a good person to ask!

      • It all depends how large your home is.

If you could easily do the entire house in 20 minutes, then V6 Absolute should be fine. Bear in mind these aren't designed to have the motor running constantly. It's more for spot cleaning.

My mum's place is two storey, with no carpet whatsoever. It's a fairly large home and wouldn't be able to fully clean it on either setting with the V6.

However, I reckon the V6 could comfortably do a good clean on max setting covering around 80-100sqm.

Whilst the V6 only lasts 6 minutes at max, the idea is that you're not having it constantly run - you see debris and you pull the trigger and you mainly do the high traffic areas, not every nook and cranny.

The V8 on the other hand does a good enough job at the lower setting and goes for 40 minutes. More than enough time for my mum's house, which is probably about 220-240sqm.

I honestly can't recommend the V6 purely because the bin emptying design is really bad. You're hands have to get dirty. The V8 forces it out with the lift action. Really good design.

Couple that with the HEPA filter, quieter motor and longer battery, it's a better long term purchase.

I recently bought Dyson V6 Absolute on last 20% off Ebay Good Guys sale for $517(original price on Good Guys Ebay store price $647), but i did purchase the 3 year replacement Concierge service for $88 dollars which gives you back $60 store credit within 12 months to spend at Good Guys, when i saw this lower price i used their Concierge 30 day price shield guarantee which gave me a $98 store credit. basically its the difference between $647 and $549.but you have to lodge the claim within 30 days of original purchase date.

It is a great machine, newer v8 has a 40 minute battery power, but who's going to vacuum for 40 minutes really lol.

If you have hard floors definitely get the Absolute as it comes with a great hard floor motor head. if you got the extra money go for the V8. but this one does the job fine and im really happy with it. a 20% off Good Guys ebay sale will make teh V8 price $679, don't know when its on again, may be soon.

  • HiSense 65" m7000 comes down to $1836 - looks like a good price - possibly cheapest it's been?

    • Yup - saw that as well. Great price.

      • Damn, looks like they removed it. Was just about to pull the trigger too. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the next sale…

  • Was about to buy the Dyson V6 Absolute but listing has ended :(
