"ouch". I just paid $US39.95 a week or two ago.

No regrets though, as it's worked well. Support is good. Got a couple of followup emails checking if I needed help in set up. I didn't as very easy setup, but handy to know for those not so computer literate.

they are pretty good, shame that Netflix is blocking them now, it was a nice bonus being able to switch location and watch different regions…

    • @Redcreek200 When you're due for renewal, let it run in to the grace period, then wait for the email that gives you discount, then wait until the grace period expires. You should get another discount in an email which should put a year at around $32.

      • Thanks for the tip, @NeoBeum. I'll try that when the time comes.

PIA is a great VPN service. I use it all the time. Can be paid for using Telstra recharge credit via Google Play carrier billing.

    • Can you get this discounted price and pay using telstra recharge credit via google play carrier billing?

      • Not necessarily but the price is usually similar.

        • I downloaded the app and shows 53 per year.. Cant seem to get sale price via app?

  • If I renew now (midway through my 1 year subscription) will it extend my subscription?

    • no

  • Interested to know if anyone out there has recently used a cash purchased Australian prepaid debit card to buy a subscription successfully..?

    • This is how I paid for them last time, just over 1 yr ago. I bought a Load & Go card from Aust Post as it was the only card that didn't need any ID when buying.

    • I see, I'm guessing your asking on behalf of a friend of a friend.

      • Thanks for the info.
Just decided after the messing with privacy laws I'd rather take some basic and legal steps to avoid getting rude letters when guests use my wifi :-)

        • Or just use a router that blocks P2P, so just a one off fix. Maybe even existing hardware supports it, or third party firmware.

    • Seems like a somewhat pointless step to me, because if the provider is leaking your payment details, then I'd expect they would also lie about storing/leaking your other info as well.

    • I have heard from a friend that you do not need ID if that is what you are asking

  • Can anyone comment on how good PIA is compared to CyberGhost?

  • +2

    Much better than cyber ghost
    I've used both
You get 5 devices plus support with PIA
cyber ghost support was terrible in my experience plus only 1 device unless you pay for premium plus

  • PIA is the bomb

40mb VPN connection at home (open VPN)

  • Hoping for another Boxing Day sale deal, as I'm up for renewal then!

    • Will it be better price than this deal u reckon?

  • +2

    Better price ;)

  • Another thumbs up for PIA. Great speeds, great support, easy to install.
