2x Keeppower 3500mAh 18650 Protected Cells for $32.35 Shipped (Local Stock) @ supersports600 eBay Store

40

For all the flashaholics out there. Great ebay seller (supersports600) for batteries has knocked 10% off their price for one of the more commonly recommended protected 18650 cells. They have also taken 10% off the NCR18650GA as well. This brings prices in line with the US and Chinese sellers, except you get local stock as well as super fast delivery. I've never paid for express and they usually arrive within a couple of days.

Link to the NCR18650GA's for $23.35 if you feel like you don't need protection ;)

But seriously, protected or not, Li-Ion cells aren't a joke. Treat them with respect or they can go boom

  • Not much love for these "local stock"

    • I'd look for Panasonic brand 18650's for ~ Au$ 6 each shipped on AliExpress.

I have No love for overpriced batteries…

      • Me neither, but right now I can't find any of the Chinese sellers that will actually do free shipping anymore. I just tried Fasttech and got this for the GA's. Gearbest is $14aud. Last time I ordered from Banggood the transaction went through and then they emailed me about an extra shipping charge.

      • Could you provide some link of places you purchases from. I'm in the market for some 18650, but in no rush.

  • +1

Or you could just buy this 2-pack Panasonic (almost identical) cells for AU$13.72 with free shipping, I've ordered plenty here with no issues. They're genuine capacity, tested on my Opus BT-C3100

    2x NCR18650GA AU$14.22, free shipping

    • Thanks!

I just have to buy 7,000 of these ($35k) and I can make my own Tesla!

    • Don't get me wrong, I've ordered plenty of cells from Fasttech as well (and will continue to do so), but some people prefer to not have to wait up to a month to receive them and be able to communicate quickly should something go wrong.

I'm all for chasing the lowest price possible (this is OzB after all), but after I was stuffed around majorly by a Chinese flashlight company I'm starting to focus more on the lowest price possible with the best service. These prices are (as far as I can tell) the lowest in the country right now, and if you ordered them now you'd likely get them by Tuesday next week. If you ordered from Fasttech today you might not get them this year.

      • yeah, fair point, I've generally paid a few dollars extra for faster shipping and got them inside 2 weeks. one order with free post did take 5 weeks and came via the Netherlands

    • Just FYI, I don't think it's free shipping anymore. I just tried buying them and this is what I was greeted with. Takes the price up over $17.50 USD

      • Same here, just tried to purchase from FastTech and they charge shipping now.

I was in the market for 18650 batteries too and came across these on eBay from an Australian seller. 2x Panasonic for $17.42.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I'm looking at cells from a torch perspective, and the ones you linked aren't ideal (they aren't bad though). If you are going flat-top and unprotected you might as well grab some LG HG2's or another high-drain cell. The one you linked discharges at 6.8a vs 20+ for the LG's. Some will go over 30 but there aren't many (any?) lights out there that will sustain 30amps and not be shutting off due to heat within 30 seconds which makes those cells a bit of a waste IMO. Technically impressive though.

      • Thanks for the information. I was in the market for 18650 batteries for a flashlight, so the information was useful.

        • What light? I can try and steer you in the right direction if you like

Also, pop over to r/flashlight and say hi

        • @ebosh: I purchased this flashlight on an impulse buy and kind of regretting it. Might just purchase good batteries now, and replace the flashlight in the future.

EDIT: Also have a Nitecore MT2A on the way from the Gearbest deal, which apparently doesn't take 2x14500 according to a comment on a post i made on r/flashlight

        • @RichardL: depending on your budget, if you're after something simple, good value and impressive, a convoy S2+ is a fan favourite. There are a few different versions out there though so drop me a line over there and I'll dig up the right one (same username).
