Guys, this is HUGE! Apparently http://www.gamestop.com in U.S. has a sale on:

(1) Hitman Intro Pack + upgrade pack (which is equal to the complete first season pack)

(2) Rise of the Tomb Raider (steam version),

(3) Forza Horizon 3 (redeem the code in Microsoft Appstore)

(4) Gears of War 4 (again, redeem the code in Microsoft Appstore)

conversions are done by google, the amount charged to your credit card/bank account/paypal might be more than what I wrote

The thing is, in order to get the this key, you need a U.S Address and apparently according to r/gamedeals subreddit a lot of people outside of U.S. who attempted to buy it got an error message at their credit card/PayPal checkout. Therefore, this is how I got it to work (I'm using Deus Ex Mankind Divied for example):

  1. Open one of those links above on your mobile web browser (I'm using Google chrome on my android phone). It should redirect you straight to the mobile site, but if it doesn't then just go to http://m.gamespot.com and then search for the name of the game for pc

  2. Add it to cart, tap on checkout

  3. select "Check out with Paypal"

  4. And just go through with the process, paypal will ask you to enter a U.S. address and obviously I used a fake one, this is what I used:

    First Name: Ella

    Last name: Sparks

    Street Address: 2926 Linden Avenue

    City: Orlando

    State: Florida

    Zip Code: 32801

    Phone Number: 4075413423

  5. Continue with the paypal checkout and Confirm the order and that's it!

NOTE:

  • I didn't use VPN
  • I have a standard Australian PayPal account, and no it's not connected to any US bank account in any way

This is exactly how I did it. I managed to buy Hitman last night and got the key this morning. What's important here is that you HAVE to use the mobile browser to go to m.gamestop.com in order for this to work. After the checkout process of PayPal you might have to wait for a few hours/more than a few hours to get your key but just be patient. This method is confirmed working for people in UK/Australia (according to the replies that I've got on this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/5es819/gamestop_… (search for "stanleys2307", that's my user name on reddit, look for my post in the thread and see what people replied me)

Cheers mate, try to do this ASAP because I don't know when the deal is going to be over.

      Hahaha wow mate. Again though, I really do think that Battlefield 1 is an amazing game (I bought it for around AU $41 from the singapore origin store a couple days back). If you go to the Koran origin store it'll be AU $38 if I'm correct. Although, seeing your comment made me assume that you've seen those deals but maybe you're waiting for the price to drop more?

      try if it works first, I've heard people outside of U.S. having a hard time with the credit card/paypal checkout. So far it seems like us Australians can use this method to circumvent the error message by using the mobile site though.

    Is there a way to download a game file else where on a portable device, then copy and launch installer on home PC, so that somehow you can activate it with the purchased key?

      hmmm I don't know if there's any such method mate, I recall there's a um, a way to download from a steam client from another computer then transferring the game data to another computer, but I don't really know about this.

      It is possible to "backup" already downloaded steam game files or "relocate" game files onto a portable hard drive. I suppose you could also just set the steam install location to the portable then do exactly what you want. It's not an installer, but the actual game itself you will be moving.

        Thanks have limited download and games are by no means small nowdays. Not pirating, just need to get the file on another conection and device as no one wants to haul their rig around.

      I think you might be able to download via SteamCMD.
      If you're comfortable using Bash or Command Prompt and have an Android device it might work for you.

    Just a heads up, they have changed the price for the Hitman full experience and Deus Ex back to full price
    You can still use this method to get Hitman at a reduced price by getting the intro pack and the upgrade pack
    I followed this method exactly and received my keys instantly from gamestop

    I'll wait a bit longer. This is a bit convoluted and I'm too worried something will go wrong.

    The game hasn't sold that well (has never charted on NPD on Xbox, did not chart last month when it launched on PS4, and will never chart) so I'm expecting big discounts soon.

      Hmmm I don't know if we'll get any better deal for hitman like this in a while, it's not hard at all mate. All the replies here and on reddit so far have been positive and told me that this method is working (as long as you're in Australia).

      Again though, I could be wrong and we might see the game sold at $15 AU or even less at the end of the year at Christmas or something.

      Yeah mate, I got that too when I did it the first time using google chrome on my windows 10 PC, but as soon as I used my android phone and went to the mobile website, it's all good. Did you use the mobile website? If you did and you still got that error then… err…, I honestly have no idea.

      Tried again but the 2nd time it wouldn't go through via Paypal and gave me the message you mentioned. Ah well.

    Finally purchased Hitman after trying for an hour or two. Paypal didn't work even after creating a new account with an US address. Several Amex and my main credit card didn't work. However one credit card did eventually work without using Paypal. I also used 1-99 S LINDEN DR as the address if that made any difference.

    How is Hitman? I have played every single hitman game since release but absolution left me unsatisfied (was a good game in ways but it wasn't a "hitman" game imo)

      The newest hitman feels like blood money visually, kinda plays like it too but with the new functions from absolution. I really like it. Probably my biggest gripe with it is that there's almost too much possibility within a map that it's hard to master all aspects of it

      Rise of tomb raider: 20 year celebration is USD $29.99 on steam (it's 50% off right now) whereas here the digital deluxe editon (which is equal to the 20 year celebration version) is USD $22.49. Again though, it's not much of a discount (if any at all) to be honest because if you go to cdkeys.com, you can get rise of tomb radier: 20 year celebration for around AU $30 which is equal to USD $22 as well.

      Simple, basically:

      • standard (just the base game, no singleplayer story add ons, no endurance mode, no nothing)
      • Deluxe and 20th anniversary edition are the same. If you buy the deluxe edition then you'll get the 20th anniversary edition content and vice versa. They both contain the base game + all of the additional singleplayer content, an extra difficulty for the game, endurance mode and also the um, a new story DLC called "blood ties"

      However, to be honest with you, if you want to buy tomb raider, buy it from cdkeys:

      cdkeys.com has a 10% discount right now so it'll come to ~~AU $30, pretty much the same with gamestop's price. Only difference is that the process is a lot easier with cdkeys and you'll get your steam key straight away without having to wait and you can avoid all these confusions.

      Nah mate, I heard from the subreddit that some people got their orders cancelled as well. I saw some people buying hitman game multiple times and as soon as they got the key, they entered it into their steam right away. Try again my man, $AU 21 for hitman is worth it :)

      But hey, if you think it's not worth it then it's all good. I'm sure there'll be another sale anyway at the end of the year or something (christmas/new year sale) but I don't know if the game's price will go down to this level of price in a while.
