Nespresso Prodigio Capsule Machine $99 (after $70 Cash Back) @ Good Guys

380

Saw this deal when I went into my local Good Guys today. The performance of this machine is every bit as good as the Citiz, but it also has bluetooth for wireless connectivity. $99 after cash back is the cheapest I've seen for a Nespresso machine.

And now many OzBargainers will try to do that, and people who would have genuinely bought one will miss out. I welcome the negs I'll get for this comment in advance. Thanks

      • Dont think the impact is big, i think the HN Amex offer has been well utilised.

    • Just keep in mind that if you purchase 2 machines, you only get $70 cash back for 1 machine and get $95 coffee credit for the other. Unless you buy 3 machines then you can claim 2x cash back and 1x coffee credit.

Says in the terms and conditions which nobody bothers to read lol: https://www.nespressopromotion.com.au/YEP2016/cashback/terms

A Coffee Credit may only be claimed once per customer during the Offer Period; and
A maximum of three claims in total will be accepted per customer during the Offer Period, provided each claim represents the separate purchase of a Participating Product.

Example 1: if a customer purchases 2 machines during the Offer Period the claimant may elect one Coffee Credit reward only, and the remaining reward must be taken as a Cash Back.
Example 2: if a customer purchases 3 machines during the Offer Period the claimant may elect one Coffee Credit reward only, and the remaining 2 rewards must both be taken as Cash Back.

Not true! The limit is only for the Coffee Credit, you can request 2x cashback for 2 machines but not 2x Coffee Credit.
        Source: Nespresso live chat

        • Hmm, maybe they should update their t&c then!

        • @koalafied: The T&C only mentions 2 examples about the Coffee Credit limit, it doesn't mention anywhere that you are not allowed to claim 2x Cashback offers if you buy 2x machines

        • When did you go on live chat?

        • @koalafied: when I purchased my Citiz&Milk a few weeks ago.

    • Just did that. Still to get confirmation for a pickup in store.

      • You will be fine, many of us already got it.

  • Great price considering it has Bluetooth. Thanks OP!

    • Will only consider if it's 4.0

  • Good timing, my citiz just died after 5 faithful years of service, on my way to the nearest good guys! :D Thanks!

Not criticising the deal in any way as the machine will no doubt work perfectly well for what it does, however I can't help but wonder how quickly the novelty will wear off when it comes to initiating your coffee brew from a phone….?

    • Not long, the pods are not bluetooth enabled yet. :)

      • Ha!

Come to think of it, given the phone app is directly linked to your Nespresso Club account, chances are that Nespresso would probably be collecting some juicy info about how well you maintain your machine (or not)…

I'm sorry sir, your warranty has been voided as we can see you haven't followed the prescribed maintenance schedule…

$30 shipping and no close by store sort of kills this offer for me.

        • You can go on Harvey Norman live chat and ask them to price match. They'll give you a special link with the discount included, its basically a link with the promo code applied (you can see the code on checkout). Then just choose store pick up or delivery.

  • Hmm, how much are the milk frother's worth?

  • +1

So, got one. They had only just put one out on display - they had a number 'out the back' though.

FWIW I have a Nespresso machine which still works fine, but the non-stick coating on the milk frother is starting to wear out so milk can burn on the base if it's left there for too long. The new frother has a ceramic coating (or so I'm told) that should make it easier to clean. Anyhow, The frother is really good - the kids also use it to heat milk for milo etc.

Only thing to note - the frother with this unit is on a base that is attached to the main machine. The bonus is you only need one power point. The negative is it's not separate so you're restricted where you place it.

    • How long to froth milk? And how much milk? Had a kambrook miln frother we got rid of…. Did just a mug of milk, thennhad to wait for it to cool down, before heating up and starting again…..and took ages to heat and froth.

      • It takes about 2 minutes (with my older version - assume the newer one will be similar) to heat a full cup of milk straight from the firdge. The frother has a small whisk on the base - it is designed so that if you leave the spring on it makes a lot of froth (so you need to put in less milk). We use it without the spring so there's less froth. A quick rinse and then it's ready to do another.

So, it's quicker to heat milk in a microwave - but you don't get the air in the milk plus you have to be careful you don't overheat. If you have an espresso machine with a steam wand that might also be a little quicker and you can heat more milk in one go, but it takes a bit of skill to do it properly and is not something I'd let my kids do until they're a little older. Overall it's not perfect, but I'm happy with it.

Not sure how this didn't become a top deal. The machine was $399… I bought two today! Cheers for the post.

Really? Must be the only online advert which doesn't state a previous RRP.

      • Yep, definitely a steal for this price. I bought one yesterday and picked it up today, comes included with 9 pods which is nice :)

Myer has it on sale for $279 and other stores $399.

        • +1

          My mistake, 16 pods*

  • Amazing deal, thanks OP!

Purchased 2 with the HN Amex deal.

  • Buy today and get the $20 store credit on offer? Unfortunately I purchased it yesterday morning so I think I miss out.

    • How do you get this? I purchased on 28th.

      • Also curious on how to get the store credit..

      • Can't find the link but l believe it was a Monday only deal. Spend $100-$200 at TGG and they'll email you a $20 store credit. I may have read it wrong.

Thanks OP, just ordered one. Great price!

Me too, thanks OP, great price for Xmas gift to myself. And it is a absolute bargain!

  • Opps failed, can't find a delete button.

  • got one.. thanx Op
tried to get Myer to price match but they said it was below their cost price.

  • lucky just got one yesterday before price went back up

  • FYI, this is made in Hungary.

    • So?

  • Placed an order on Harvey Norman online over a week ago as I got them to price match. They are trying to cancel and not honour it due to the price being below cost.

They said, if I don't cancel there might be a long wait with Nespresso. Absolute joke HN is. I will refuse to cancel.

  • Why has this been expired? It drives me mad that mods expire things on this forum but don't say way. There's a perfectly good deal here that people are missing now. Maybe the mods want to buy them all?

    • I think this was an early deal that was supposed to expire on November the 30th, so Nespresso either extended the promotion date, or this is a whole new deal, not sure which.

Anyway, here's the current promotion deal, and it hasn't expired. BUT, there was also TGGs $20 store credit (on top of the $70 cashback) that expired on the 16th by the way: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/282535
