Got an email with a coupon code (SALE) that gives 'up to 50% off'…that ended up giving 10% off. Bit of a dud, maybe other people were luckier…wondering if that was it for now/when the next email will come.

I'm not a fan of these Scoopon deals with no specific time.
I just hope I didn't skip a day off work for nothing.
I question why you would skip work when the value of the free items are obviously going to be far below that of what you would ordinarily earn…

Putting aside the seemly foreign concept of honesty and integrity, employers get agitated when you take sick leave for just a single day. It's highly suspicious as it normally takes a few days to recover from being sick - especially so when you show up for work the next day like nothing happened. If people want to take a day off due non-medical reasons, they should take unpaid leave or use some of their annual leave.@Tyrx: Gastro or food poisoning can last 24 hours. Severe migraine. Conjunctivitis may not visibly show anything to anyone else while its there, urinary tract infection that is more bearable the next day so you can come in to work instead of taking more time off. There are others too, but oh look, I just remembered something important to do, could you hold on a moment? Be right back <picks up drink and goes to where other people are having a better conversation>.

Is it just me who thinks email is a dreadful way to conduct these things…not everyone gets the email at the same time. :/ I guess if it's not a limited offer, it's not so bad.
Perhaps using email is Scoopon's way of getting us a little nostalgic for group deal sites, like it's 2010 again!
I think you have to look for the deals - they'll be zero $ deals (add postage), free shipping, and other offers. Check each hour and you might find a new deal. It's a marketing ploy to get people on to their site and hope they buy something! My code was also 10% off.

From central to auburn station 22 mins (by train).
Unfortunately there a no trains where I currently reside (southern Eastern Suburbs) so it adds an extra 45 minutes or so each way (around 1 hr 20 min door-to-door).
Could be worth an excursion on an Opal-subsidised family funday Sunday.
