Just checked a few more locations and it looks like nearly all direct connections from LAX on UA are $884. I’ll update the list as I go through them but so far:

Portland - $884
Seattle - $884
Las Vegas - $884
Boston - $1131
New York - $1148
Chicago - $1172

It also says that the sale fare expires at 8.30pm AEST tonight. Would be good to update the bargain with this info.

          United might not be too bad compared to tiger (not that ive flown them), but a few years back, it was tempting to jump out mid pacific and swim the rest of the way, horrific food, virtually no entertainment, unable to sleep, uncomfortable seating, id pay upto $300 more for any other airline before id even consider United.

      im flying next month and paid $50 extra eachway for VAustralia, money much better sent than on qantas.

      FYI these prices have been around for a while.

      No it's return. I also looked up MEL - PDX (Portland, Oregon) during August and it came up cheaper than $899!? Rather strange really as PDX is another 2h10m - 2h30m flight on from LAX! If travelling on QAN/QAN codeshare the price was coming up at $1222!

        Wow - you're right came to $884. How weird. Great price though but I do say that with a bit of a wince considering its UA. Still short haul on UA should be ok.
