It's the Note 7's that have the problems.

      • Ahh fair enough. I just remember hearing Telstra or Optus weren't even selling them. I guess that makes sense if it's the note.

        • Actually it was a fair question so I don't know why you got all the downvotes? There has been a couple of reports of the edge catching fire as well.

          http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/galaxy-s7-edge-catches-f…

There's 3 incidences listed there, not a lot I'll grant you but it's not nothing either. :) Someone commented that they aren't catching fire any more than any other phone at those rates however. But the note 7 was the real problem.

          @EightImmortals:

I just saw the notification for a reply to this comment and checked, 17- votes. We must have some seriously hardcore butt hurt Samsung fans in this thread; was just a question hahaha.

  • I wonder if i can use TGG gift card on ebay? Being Lumo energy customer i get further another 6% off on the TGG gift card. Anyways this is a good price for local AU stock. Good work spotting this OP.

I reckon ebay will only accept ebay/paypal code. It's different systems

  • Anyone know if the good guys receipt will show purchase price of $1099 for TRS purposes?

    • +3

Base on my purchase from ebay-TGG with 20% off last year (2 unit panasonic air-con with click & collect), the original receipt show original price. I assume the receipt will show price of $1099.

    • Yes it will show $1099 on the tax invoice. I bought this phone when it was $1249, but was able to get it for about ~$840 after TGG 20% discount, TRS and cashback. If you plan your TRS in advance, you will receive a QR code and speed up the process for you at the airport. Another thing to keep in mind is that the custom official did ask me if i was bringing the phone back to Australia (you are allowed to bring back a total of $900 worth of goods only pp). I was and since I was traveling with my wife i was allowed to do so.

  • rather sign with Woolies Mobile tomorrow for better plan included :)

  • hi Ozbargainers, do you reckon the woolies mobile plan starting tomorrow is better than buying the s7 edge outright and going on a sim only plan? i can't decide. thanks in advance.

I was about to buy the woolies mobile plan but am worried about the statement "parts of the Telstra 4g network". On the other thread someone mentioned reliability issues receiving texts. I'd rather go on a sim-only plan with Telstra and buy the phone outright at this price… actually I did just purchase it just then - the code has gone live.

If you want 8GB on the Telstra network then the Woolies deal is your best bet. If you can live with 6GB, then Aldi offers the same deal for $35 which is effectively a $5 premium over the woolies deal, but at least you won't be locked in.

If Telstra isn't required, then you could go with Vaya for $22/month which will get you 8GB. Overall saving of ~$11/month.

If you're a relatively light data user, which I am, Virgin has some good S7 deals
      S7 $50/month on $30 plan
      S7 $55/month on $40 plan
      S7 Edge $55/month on $30 plan
      S7 Edge $60/month on $40 plan
… and more on higher plans
For example, $40 plan is unlimited calls and text with 2GB data.
What you don't use gets rolled over to the next month (not cumulative).
(Price per month is total per month, ie $50/month is $30 for plan and $20 handset repayment)

Ends up being under $800 with TRS and cashrewards not bad at all

    • Uhh do you need to have the phone on you to claim trs? Was thinking of gifting one to a family member but I'm the one flying out lol

      • +1

it depends on your luck. If the counter is really busy, you can just drop the claim form into the box, if not, you have to do the claim at the counter and they will ask for it.

    I would wait for s8 :)

  • I wonder if this will get any cheaper around Christmas. It's a great price so tempting.

  • I purchased this yesterday.

but noticed harvey norman dropped to $997
combine with the amex deal and multiple cards, you could potentially get it for $697.
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/phones-accessories-gps/phones…

    • How?

      • if you owned 3 amex cards and split payment across all 3 of them..

        • Isnt Amx HN deal finished already

        • @PT8483: Not until the end of December
