    Good deal op

  • Usual price across several sellers on Aliexpress.

  • I wouldn't get one of these devices with the amlogic 912 chipset. Kodi Devs say they don't work and are terrible. They say to get 905 or 905x

    • I've personally reviewed this box and it has issues with HDMI audio passthrough like Kodi devs are saying. This appears to be the case with most Amlogic S912 devices as I understand that Amlogic don't use standard Android APIs for their audio.

That said, if you're not fussed with audio passthrough or automatic framerate switching, it'll handle media playback fine and the gaming performance is quite good.

      • I bought one for the kids tv to just watch mkv's via my media player.. basic stuff… should be ok? Most strenuous thing they may play is 720p movies with DTS.

        • Yeah, it plays back the videos fine but if you're passing through 5.1 surround over HDMI, I had little glitches every 5-10 seconds. For basic media watching, it'll be fine.

        • @Darkscythe: Have you tried the latest firmware to see if it's fixed? I saw some discussion on Freaktab about new firmware.

        • @Clear: I haven't but will check it out and update. Thanks for the heads up @Clear

        • @Darkscythe:

Gah, got mine today and it doesn't work.. tired multiple HDMI cables with multiple TV's… it just won't pickup a HDMI signal. What a dud.

        • @sumkp: No video? That sounds like it could be a hardware issue. I'd recommend contacting GeekBuying support.

        • @Darkscythe:

Yeah I have.. see what happens.

        • @Clear: When my new T95z plus box is turned on at the power point it interferes with my tv reception. And I just found out that it also interferes with my upstairs neighbour's reception too. He has been having major reception issues and we just tested how his tv is when my T95Z is turned on. He has no tv signal when I turn the box on at the power, and then his (and my) signal returns when I turn the power to the box off.

He did say he has a tv signal late at night when my tv box is still on so I am very confused. We live in a block of flats with an antenna on the roof that we all connect to.

Do you have any suggestions or solutions please?

    • What box would you guys recommend for a 4k Kodi box? I've been using Raspberry Pis but want to get some 4k content playing…

If budget isn't an issue, go for the Nvidia Shield as its performance is unparalleled.

Otherwise, I'd look at the WeTek Hub/WeTek Play (as they also do 1080p Netflix) or the Ugoos UT3S.

        • Thanks for that, think I need to do some reading of reviews before I buy something. :)
