I posted this one 1 Year 1 Month and 25 days ago, I tried the above code again to see if it would work. Obviously it worked but this time EVEN BETTER.

Now there is an $34.5 of included freebies, Copy from second step of Quote process;
"Free Global SIM
FREE Woolworths Prepaid Visa Gift Card and Global Roaming Sim Card with every Comprehensive Travel Insurance policy. While stocks last. Total RRP value $34.50"

The base rate of a Woolworth Gobal Sim $29 website and inlcudes $10 of credit that leaves ~$5 for the Visa Prepaid Visa Gift Card.
* Edit: The Global Sim arrived within three days, GREAT. I checked the Call Rates and Data Pricing… WOW that's STEEP; Indonesia - Data=$0.30/mb Voice Calls= $.034/Minute. I'll activate and throw it in the suitcase and buy a local sim when i get there!*

At checkout I was told the Sim Card will be post in 1-3 days with no word on Visa…

last point I just tested 24 hours of insurance for a 30YO male and the price came to ~$23. Do with this info as you may.

Here is my text about the insurance from last year;
I pulled this code from a targeted email. The code should be generic and work for all.

Looks like the discount only applies to Comprehensive insurance packages.

"To receive your 10% off, simply click or enter the promo code below within the next 12 months." (05/10/2015)

I have used Woolworth's travel insurance in the past, never made a claim. I like that their products include natural disaster cover and I assume ash clouds from volcanoes. (aka cancelled Bali flights with no payouts!!!)(a commentor in last years post got paid out for ash cloud)

Happy travels

  • Thanks mate. Your timing could not have been better.

  • This is a bargain … compared 12 month multi trip policies … $457.98 vs $384.30 … pretty good deal even without the SIM card!! Thank you OP!!

  • My daughter took out Woolworths Travel Insurance when she went to Nepal about 2 years ago. She had a query while overseas (stranded by bad weather) and asked me to call them. I spent over an hour on WWs hotline waiting on hold for someone to answer it. When they finally did, they could only give a vague 'put in a claim and see what happens' answer. They had no explanation for the long wait, saying they weren't busy.

  • pulled the pin thanks, was going to go with TID but this was better cover for the money.

  • +1

    I have not tried their insurance before, but I have had a surprisingly good experience with the sim card over the past few years. Despite reading poor reviews of it some places, it has worked for me in Turkey, Greece, Italy, Cuba, Peru, Chile and New Zealand.

    I am not interested in large amount of data, mostly being able to have one consistent phone number I can give to airbnb hosts etc well in advance, instead of waiting to buy a sim in-country. For this purpose it works great. It goes dormant after 12 months, but you can email to reactivate it if you want to keep the same number.

  • Never buy woolworths travel insurance. Sting big-time in the past. Always read the pds this really doesn't cover much at all.

    • Can you elaborate on what wasn't covered?

  • I've tried entering the promo code, but i don't get the 10% discount and the price doesn't change

    • Sorry to hear; I just check and the price went from $76.85 to $69.15. = discount worked.

    • Only works on the most expensive option (comprehensive)

  • Works well, good times. Thanks RustyOz.

  • used it today, code still works (comprehensive) bonus is only sim (no visa)
