Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars with Tripod Adapter

Product Description

Celestron's SkyMaster Series of large aperture binoculars are a phenomenal value for high performance binoculars ideal for astronomical viewing or for terrestrial (land) use - especially over long distances. Each SkyMaster model features high quality BAK-4 prisms and multi-coated optics for enhanced contrast. Celestron has designed and engineered the larger SkyMaster models to meet the special demands of extended astronomical or terrestrial viewing sessions. The 15x70 version is one of the most popular models in the series. It offers serious large aperture light gathering in an affordable and reasonably lightweight configuration.

If you choose to pickup from a local Amazon pickup location you can get a couple of dollars off.

Also if you have the $10 Amazon voucher from a week or so back it comes out to around $90 AUD shipped. Not bad at all for an excellent pair of binos.

  • beware, its very heavy, you cannot possibly hold this steady with just your hands and get a decent view it will shake like crazy, a proper stand is almost required for this monster!

    • Do you even lift bro hahaha

Yeah a tripod is prolly the way to go but one workaround is tucking in your elbows towards your chest to form a triangle of sorts. Works like a charm :)

      • Madonna did that with a Mirror

  • What are the optics like ? 1 have a set of Leica's (8x) that were ridiculously expensive but the optics are superb

can you get a tripod adaptor (link ?)

    • It comes with the tripod adaptor

I've got these. Optics aren't that great.. at least for regular stuff (in comparison to much more expensive Vanguards with ED glass). I haven't tried it for Astro

    • if your going to compare these to Leica's your going to be super dissapointed haha

This might come in handy if yours arrive out of alignment. Perhaps knowing where the colimation screws are you won't have to destroy your whole grip.
