  • Great specs. The cameras and audio are temping. Even better if it has removable battery.

I personally paid $150 more and got the dual sim version of the LG V20.

4g+3g dual sim, band 28, removable battery, 2 sims AND sd card, twin rear camera incl wide angle, android 7.0, 2nd screen

I had bad experience with LG phones, and I think they have quality problems - it feels that sooner or later there would be some issues. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

same here after the LG G4 saga I dont really wanna gamble with LG again!

    • This phone also has dual sim

    • They're both great phones, probably the two top contenders for headphone out quality. Next on the list would probably be HTC 10 but that's a step down in amp volume output from the analysis I've seen.

I'm considering a new phone and leaning towards the ZTE at the moment, just waiting for a significant price drop / sale.

Very similar specwise - CPU, GPU and screen resolution are identical. ZTE is a fraction of an inch smaller.
ZTE has the edge with its front facing speakers.
ZTE is AMOLED, LG is LCD. Personally prefer the complete blacks of AMOLED but to each their own.
ZTE is also cheaper and offers 64GB by default for inbuilt.
ZTE is 20MP vs LG's 16MP, but in practice they're both good and specs at that level probably don't make much difference, seems like LG would have the edge with the dual camera setup though, I was reading the software (e.g. focus) of the ZTE isn't that good (you need to tap to focus a lot).

Will probably settle for the A2017 without band 28 as I'm metro and heard it doesn't make much difference.

Currently it's $361 USD shipped on Aliexpress (or $335 USD / ~$450-460 AUD after 7% cashback). Actually when I think about it, maybe B28 is worth the $100 AUD.

    • Where did you get the deal on the v20 cureforanitch?

  • +2

By my calculations, it's 557AUD/387EUR from amazon.de (including shipping, they also take off tax at checkout). Correct me if I'm wrong here. https://www.amazon.de/ZTE-Smartphone-Display-Megapixel-Speic…

    • You seem to be correct. 386.XX Euro for me. A review states it has band 20 which would indicate that it is the A2017G.

      • Do you get cashback on Amazon.de or just amazon.com via cashrewards?

  • Huawei or ZTE Axon 7? Any of you can give some opinion for any similar models under $500? cheers

  • Thanks OP, nice find.
I think that my Oz-bargain eyes are losing it, when I first saw the code/ voucher, eye to brain interface was thinking it is a 113% off deal. OMG. I may be spending too much time on OzB instead of working :-)
