    Logged in to say this

DO NOT BUY THOSE PIECE OF CRAP SPEAKERS (Logitech Z333)!

I bought those for the full price 4-5 months ago and they are really bad. While the sound quality depends on every person so it is impossible for me to say if it's good or bad, I just found them too bassy. Sometimes you can't comprehend what people are talking in the movies or news. Now, onto the real issue:

They stop working for no reason after 2 months.
I bought them and after 2 months they stopped working out of the blue. The light is on, the headphone jack works but the speakers are not working. I disassembled the bass (because that's where the internals are) and saw a blown capacitor. I went back to MSY and they happily replaced it with a brand new set. This one again worked for about 2 months and stopped working for no reason AGAIN! Green light is on and headphone jack works but speakers don't play anything. So I went back to MSY (again!) and they offered me new speakers and I kindly asked them for cash refund that they were happy to give me.
P.S. those small speakers on the top are fake, they are just for the looks, they are not connected to anything.

IMO a disappointing product from Logitech.

tl;dr above: MSY's customer service is better than people think and electronics always have a chance to fail regardless of cost/brand.

Speakers rarely sound perfect out of the box (take the terrible TV speakers for example), although with some tuning of the settings/equaliser you can get much more out of the price of lower range speakers than you would think.

I would always recommend the Logitech Z333 for people who want a "decent" 2.1 setup at a lower price.

especially after the toothless tiger - ACCC - goes after them (but looks the other way for the Big Boys, who are big enough get away with murder)

Double failures happen but should be very rare. If the same component is failing it indicates a problem with design or the product produced in that batch. (e.g. capacitors bought for this batch faulty). If so you can expect the thing to fail. Blue Cat is doing a public service by warning others.

  • Thanks. just bought some.
