Price has dropped from $1098, cheapest on Staticice by $172 for the smaller M7000: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=M7000UWG&sp…

I wonder if any further deals are coming on this pre/post Xmas?

  • Is there a reason why this is $200 cheaper?

Very similar but no HDR. I've seen somewhere that it is upgradable to HDR with French firmware?

      Different model.

      Older Model. No HDR.

You can use foreign firmware as mention above on the K3300 series. But it does not have WCG so HDR for a few colours can look a bit weird, reportedly observed with some HDR console gaming on whirlpool forums. Other than that i am not sure of major differences… my GF has the k3300 series and i briefly had an M7000 series (returned, 2 stuffed pixels) and for the most part i could not really tell much noticable difference…

it was $876 when they had 20% off sale on a little while ago JB seems to change the price alot on these 7 series not just when sales are on either i have seen them go up and down in price i have yet to actually go check them out in store, the 50" is direct lit instead of edge lit like the bigger sizes so that's a plus.

  • also this place https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/hisense-55-inch-hisense-… has the 55" for $1190 tempted to see if JB/GG or havery will price match them.

  • I'm not sure why everyone is raving about the 7 series Hisense. Yes it's not bad in comparison to say, an equivalent TCL but i went into JB to have a look for myself and compared to the Sony KD65X7500D and Sammy UA65KU6000W which were about the same price a while back at TGG and it was like chalk and cheese. The Sony had better colour, the definition was much clearer (the hisense looked blurry in comparison). Now i'm not sure if they hadn't setup the Hisense properly but only in comparison to maybe the TCL it was clearly sub par to Sony and even the Sammy UA65KU6000W. These were all 65" to be clear.

I found the Hisense to be blurry also at Hardly's, all sizes blurry until down one aisle they had a Hisense and Sony next to each other showing bluray images.
Couldn't pick the difference in picture quality between them however they were two different blurays so it was still comparing apples with oranges.

      • Were the blu-rays animation? I've found that even on a crappy tv it's almost impossible to tell a bad tv from a good one unless you have a non-animated movie or tv playing.

Management/TV salespeople have the power to make one TV look good and another look garbage just by changing the picture settings. This allows them to more easily push certain models. The source material also matters. Ensure the TVs you're comparing have the same bluray source. Ask for the TV remotes and turn all the additional processing settings off. Only then can you objectively rate the picture quality.

        • This - most likely the settings on the hisense are altered to make it look worse than the Sony.

Sony most probably has a better compensation/margin than the Hisense so as a seller it makes more sense to push the Sony.

Have a read of AVforums and Whirlpool for some real opinions.

    • They do it on purpose so u splurge on the more expensive brands. Tech-Sales 101

I've looked at these in JB Hifi and the quality is amazing. Even in HD and SD I was impressed. They were better than the comparable Samsung and LGs
