    Q Acoustics 2010 Compact Bookshelf Speakers Pair-Graphite $199 not bad but older model not the 2010i.

    https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/q-acoustics-2010-compact-bo…

    • +3

      Some prefer the qualities of the 2010i over the 2010 and vice versa. a few of these left in stock if you are interested.

    Was considering buying them until I read 'no change of mind.' At best it looks mean, at worst like something is wrong with them. Certainly not good customer service. A discount doesn't mean you should get less of anything as a result.

    I have often pulled out of a potential purchase because of something like this. Shop seem to think they are being smart, but, without feedback like this, I don't think they realise the losses their tight policies cause.

    Bad taste in the mouth.

      • +5

        You have a poor attitude, I'm considering giving this deal a negative vote because of that. It reflects badly on your company and the quality of your products.

        disgusting customer service. I & everyone else should avoid a person with such attitude.

        • +5

          hear hear!

        • +15

          All the REP is saying that it is inconvenient when they could have easily sold all, but end up with leftovers because people changed their mind. Both the shop and other Ozbargainers lose out. The REP can't exactly post another deal saying "BTW, turns out we have 2 more of these".
          Don't take it too bad.

        • @atish digitalcinema: I'm so confused. Do you know they're talking about your bad attitude?

          Also, you say you returns policy is this:

          Cancellation of orders must be informed as soon as possible via our website or by phone. Any cancellation after a product has been ordered from our suppliers, held or shipped by our warehouse may result in the customer paying (25%) restocking charges. This fee covers any delivery, redirection, financial and handling cost that we incur as a result of the cancellation.

          Are you saying this product is a special case where no returns for change of mind are permitted at all. You should probably make that clear on the website…

        • -6

          I don't think my attitude is bad.

        • +1

          @atish digitalcinema:

          The customer is always right and they think you stink.

          What a textbook case of customer service car crash.

          Cool story bro

        • +2

          @tightwad:

          The customer is always right

          That is complete horseshit. The customer is frequently wrong, and embarrassingly so. However, that is when you help them as much as possible. But sometimes, you can help people only so much before it's a lost cause.

      • That is a terrible attitude as a rep. Enjoy the deal yourself.

      • +2

        I was going to buy these speakers but after reading your rude reply to tightwad, I don't bother with the purchase. Just imagine what your reply will be if I need after sale customer service.

    • +14

      This does not absolve them of their responsibility to deliver a working product, just mean you cant try and return if you don;t like them.

      • +6

        Thank you

        • +3

          There's nothing terrible about your returns policy. I just don't like it and won't buy from you because of it.

          "We will be losing sleep over this missed opportunity"

          This is appallingly rude and many people who see this will avoid you if possible.

          It takes a lifetime to build a reputation and a few seconds to lose it.

        • +6

          @tightwad: I like the attitude. The customer is not always right!

        • @Diji1:

          Business is about making money not winning arguments.

          A minority will like their bravado. The silent majority won't.

          @tightwad:

          Most ozb customers are great, last time we put on a small deal an ozb customer bought 5k worth of gear from us. But I thank God that most Ozb customers are not like you, please do not speak on behalf of the majority

        • +4

          @tightwad: We should always be guided by consumer law, it protects both traders and consumers, and change of mind is not refundable under the law. It is always good for trader to set condition of the deal upfront rather than arguing after the purchase is done. i have dealt with the company before and find their service quite good if not the best. If i am buying a bargain price item i would not complaint unless the product is faulty in which case is covered by warranty nothing to worry about cheers

        • @atish digitalcinema: Hi rep, is it free delivery to Melbourne?

        • +2

          @icann: Yes it is

        • @atish digitalcinema: ok thanks will it be delivered by this friday if i buy and pay now.

        • +4

          @tightwad: I like this REP's bravado :)
          The world could do with more REP's like him.

        • +1

          @tightwad: yeah, most people aren't crybabies that want stores to pretend to be their best friends. Your comment was dickish, and it got the response you deserved.

        • +2

          @icann:

          Will try my man but no promise. If not Monday for sure

        • +1

          @Diji1: Precisely. Some "customers" are more trouble than they're worth.

      • It's a working product ……they just are saying dont impulse buy … they can't be sdxas New if you return and demo or display would need to be cheaper than New.

    • +5

      they're not Kmart where you can return anything if you change your mind, they're a high end audio shop, where generally your mind is made up before you engage their services.

    • +6

      No refunds for change of mind. (we often have people buy and then change their mind because they were impulsive causing others to miss out on the deal)

      Look like he was saying people paid for it and bought it online before they pick up or delivery and want a refund and causing others to miss out the deal.

  • Decent speakers for the price, but the RRP of 1999 is overly inflated. I reckon it's closer to the $1+K range of speakers.
    If anyone auditions this, try something with lots of treble, the speaker is naturally bright and becomes a little tangy, will suit a warmer amp IMHO.

    Different strokes for different folks.

    • +2

      Agree completely. Fairly bright for a European speaker.

      They are on demo at the moment in store.

  • +12

    Wow, take a chill pill OzBargainers! The REP has done great work for us previously offering amazing deals on great products. If you don't like the terms of the sale then just move on, nothing to see here. Others may already know what these sound like so know they wont change their mind and they'll walk away very happy. The REP has a dry sense of humour and I suppose that can be taken out of context but I can vouch for the great products & deals from previous DigitalCinema purchases.

    • +7

      Steve… you are a legend. Please let me know if you want one of these. We have them on demo in our store perhaps you want to listen to them

      • +4

        Ha, you make it sound like I'm affiliated… but I'm not. I just don't get why you're being attacked for stating a simple clause. Makes complete sense to me ie. you're offering these at a crazy low price to move stock and don't want the hassle or associated expense of people changing their minds… simple. Looks like your sarcastic 'losing sleep' response was a bit too brash for the masses though ;)

        Anyway, I'd love a pair of these as a mate has a pair of higher-end ELACs and they're just mind-blowing. I doubt these would be as good but I assume they'd still blow most other sub $1000-$1500 speakers away. Alas I've moved house and no longer have the room to store/use them which is a big shame :( Thanks anyway.

        • It was his rude comments that grate.

        • +1

          @tightwad: Fair enough. Each to their own.

        • +1

          @SteveAndBelle:

          It's obviously not just me. Look at the response of others.

          If you are going to interact with people in a public forum, you'd better be diplomatic if you want to benefit from your efforts.

        • +1

          You, too.

        • +1

          @tightwad: Aww diddums. Would you like some help unbunching those panties?

    • +4

      Totally agree, terms up front, sounds reasonable to me. I'm fussy as (profanity) with customer service, but that clause or the schtick the rep gave out doesn't bug me at all. Change of mind returns are a bonus, not a law. If you're on ozbargain, most likely you will have thrown down a few impulse buys and lived with them. If a business chooses not to wear the risk with a higher price item on a feckin great sale, fair play.

  • Hi Rep,

    Any deals on the B&W MT-60D? How do the speakers above compare with that?

    • Hi Mate

      One is a satellite speaker system and the other a floorstander. Different performance.
      Please give me a call tomorrow for a good deal on this system.

  • ELAC B6?

    I think it was them, I seen a review on and they said they are the best sounding bookshelf speakers under $5K for a tenth the price.

    • I nearly purchased some B series (Elac BS 63) a few years ago as they sounded amazing, and the price was great. Ended up with some Paradigm Titans instead as they had a bit more impact, but it was a bloody tough decision. As the Titans no longer exist, it would be the Elacs now.

  • we do not have the newer b6 sorry

  • Are these German made?

    • They would be.

    • Not German made

      • Interesting, where are they made now?
        Thanks.

        • High end made in Germany
          Entry Level in China

        • Hence the very selective choice of 'German brand' in the listing. You'll find the same bullshit being speiled by sales scum at JB Hifi when talking about the entry level (read: shit) Miele Vacs which are made in China.

        • @maxwellian:

          Made in China, versus a brands home country does not mean a drop in quality, it can just mean cheaper costs to keep a lower price point. My Paradigm Monitors were the last Canadian made series, and are now made in China, apparently it was made zero difference to their sound or quality of construction.

  • +6

    I like the digitalcinema deals. Sometimes I worry ozb'ers will scare digitalcinema off.

    Try reading some of the sh-te that people pulled on Atish with the charity freebies. Customers can be a nasty and/or unrealistic bunch. As long as Atish honours all warranty claims (admittedly in a polar-opposite way to his responses here) then fair enough not allowing returns for change of mind. After all, if you don't know if you want it, you probably shouldn't buy it.. it's $700!

    • +5

      You will never be turned away if something is our fault or the product is faulty. we do not want to be treated unfairly therefore we do not treat customers unfairly

  • +1

    Bad previous dealings with these guys.

    • I believe you after reading such rude comments from the rep on those post.

      • +1

        No, I made a purchase with them a couple of months ago and it was a nightmare.

    • -6

      What happened ? you made a $2 donation and couldn't claim your usb cable?

      • Guessed wrong.

      • +1

        My goodness, seriously. Do you ever wonder why people buy from lenwallis, apollo, etc… instead of you guys?

      • +5

        I remember grabbing the free AKG earphone a couple of years ago from ozbargain deal and went to pick it up from your west ryde store. The long wait and lack of attention I got from the person at the desk made me think twice about your store. Please don't get me wrong, the free product was wonderful and I still use that earphone with my iphone at work, and I thank you for your deal. But I guess what I'm trying to say is that how the store service made me feel as a customer (and you know very well yourself, that your store is not some brick and mortar electronic franchise like good guys, you have a carefully selected package of products that are high quality and loved worldwide. You are literally competing with guys like lifestylestore and len wallis) wasn't a top notch standard. To put it simply, I came away from the store with a weird feeling, thinking, "Jeez.. I should be happy that I got a free product from this store and thankful, but somehow I feel a little intimidated". It was almost like - (and I'm sure it wasn't your intention) - I was embarrased to have gone into the store asking for a freebie.

        I know a lot of people here would disagree with my impression of the store, and I really want to emphasize that the items you carry and your price is very competitive. But I just think that a little improvement in your customer service quality could do so much to improve customer satisfaction. It may not have immediate impact on your sales figure, but there is a reason why I would definitely walk into a lifestylestore if the price was similar on the same product between your store and theirs. It's a totally differnt level of service you get from the staff there (well, most of the time :)) and you always just come out of there thinking, gosh, I really want to buy something just to thank them for their time (once I had this guy who pulled out 7 different headphones and hooked them up to a $2000 headphone amp and spent half an hour with me and when I said I have to think about it he told me to come back whenever and that I can take any of them home for a test drive on my AMEX.

        I know your reason may be somewhat valid in this case as you are lowering the price significantly and don't want impulse buyers returning stocks. I thank you for your constant input into this site and find many items at a great price and hope you continue to do so, regardless of not-so-positive feedbacks that you may sometimes get, as it greatly benefits the community. I just wanted to share my experience and a little feedback to possibly improve future customer satisfaction.

        Thank you and sorry for the rant..

        • +2

          Thank you for the first real feedback. No need to apologise as this is great feedback. Please contact us when for your next purchase and it will be a different experience for you. Just don't come in for headphones as we do not have many on demo. Please call and ask for me personally next time before you come in and I am happy to go through whatever you need. Again, thank you for your comments.

    • +2

      Thank you for sharing your previous experience. Personally, I highly value feedback from fellow members. I believe this to be true for most ozbargainers. Would you mind sharing more about your previous experience with the seller?

      • +1

        Yes, please do share

        • +1

          Tell me this isn't how you act when a customer comes into your store? You show your arrogance and act like an arsehole.

          Surely one of your mates has gotten a hold of your login and is n pretending to be you because no rep would be as stupid as to act like an arsehole.

        • +1

          Purchased an amp, which were apparently in stock. 2 months later I still didn't have it, had staff members promise me a call back - never received one. Then when it was finally sent, rather then posting to my delivery address they were sent to my billing address. Took me another 2 weeks so I could get them. Without any apologies whatsoever throughout the whole awful process. This attitude was the exact same thing I got through dealing with them on the phone.

        • +1

          @BlitzR:
          I'm more surprised about the people backing him.. Its embarrassing.

  • +7

    Jeez.. this post is turning out to be a commercial scale business suicide for digitalcinema.

  • Can you do a special on Q acoustics Media 4?

  • Do you have something for a room roughly 5m by 8m suited to the yamaha rxv3040. I do a lot of movoe watching, i want it lou and have 4x 12" subwoofers for the bass channels so i dont need anything too heavy onthe bass for mains and rears.
