  • Is this gimmick or it works with wonder?

    • +1

My parents have one and they do work, not with wonder like on the ads, you still have to do a little bit of work.

      • you reckon it will do decent cleaning? like it shows on teh add. tiles and stuff or even the couches?

        • one of these combined with a toothbrush work wonders on grout!

          • @step_hen: I just bought one for this exact reason. That and also steaming my range hood. :p
I guess I'll find out just how far my $27 is going to go.

  • Silly question: I never use steam cleaner before (always asked someone to do it as per house agent request when moving out rented place);
will this be strong enough to clean normal house carpet? or I need to get bigger one?
    Thanks

    • For small spots or stains yes, for the whole carpet no

      • it might work for the whole carpet, you just have to spend a lot of time.

    • you'll probably find moving out of a place requires a professional carpet cleaning receipt too

  • I have this sitting in my store room for 4 years now. Waste of time.

  • Just brought one myself… :)

  • yep I just bought one just to clean some seats at my business, probably just a piece of junk but for the price who cares.

  • can this clean the inside of my car well?

    • Yes, would like to know how people clean/wash their car seat upholstery (not the removable cover).

      • I guess it depends on how much you value your car and how much its worth. Would you trust your interior on a $20 item….my car is no Lamborghini but I wouldnt :)

They (as in all stores) have been trying to flog these off for the last 5 years and they get cheaper and cheaper, hell they gave away the steam mops for free when you bought a new vaccum from Godfreys at one stage.

        • bit over the top! it wont ruin your car its just steam! steam being heated up water, dont think its gonna harm much…

    • meh i ordered one. willing to give it a go. hopefully get some food stains off my car

Looks like a piece of plastic scrap. The 1000W are probably only related to the heating element, and not the fan (does it have a fan to push the steam through the dirt?)

    • +1

Steam cleaner do not have any fan. It simply just a concealed water kettle with a controlled release valve. The water boils and the pressure built up, you release the valve and steam pushed out.
1000W is the heating element, that also means how long you have to wait to boil the water and re-pressurize the steam.

Read up on how steam cleaners work.

  • I doubt it'd have a fan, a lot(or all?) of steam cleaners don't they just use pressure to push the steam out.

  • it could just be like the steam that comes out of your iron when ironing your clothes

  • It might work better as a facial steamer or for steam cleaning clothes, dont laugh my friend uses a simialr one for that and dry cleaning lol

  • This looks awesome just bought one. Should be great for those small carpet stains and the car seat! I wonder if u can use a light solution with it for stubborn stains?

  • +1

Can I use this to warm up my food? Defrosting my Turkey etc….?

    • Definetly should be able to do steamed dimmies :)

  • I thought that it would be ok for the car seats, carpet spots/stains, small mats in the kids rooms, ohh and the dirty marks you get on a fabric lounge suite. For $20 I'm willing to give it a go.
