IKEA Oftast Bowl/Plate $0.75 (Exclude WA/SA)

Saw this on special at IKEA Tempe and noticed that the price has dropped too on IKEA website excluding WA/SA.

Was $0.99/$0.89/$0.85/$0.79 before.

Made of tempered glass, which makes the bowl durable and extra resistant to impact.

Are these similar to Corelle? That is, are impact resistant but when they do break they shatter into hundreds of razor sharp slivers.

If so, I'll stick to normal plates that break more often but only into 5-10 bigger pieces.

The point is it doesn't chip or break easily.
We've been using both these and Corelle for years, none broken none chip
The best part is they're dishwasher friendly, esp bowls won't hold any water due to the flat bottom.

I've used Corelle dishes for years and we have had a couple chip, but given some of them are over 30 years old I can give them a bit of leeway. The only one that was broken was when a cup got dropped onto it, and it didn't splinter into razor sharp bits. I would certainly recommend Corelle, they are light and tough. The ones that do explode are the arcoroc. Dropped one in a dishwasher once and it went off like a handgrenade.
