  I've got a the original Chromecast but just got myself Netflix and starting to use it a lot more.

  Is it worth the upgrade in real world performance/features etc?

  Chromecast …. cheap and nasty

  Had two crap out on me and refuse to connect to Wifi

    I own 4 of them, all up 6 in my family. No one has had an issue, ever.
    Perhaps it's user error?

    Fwiw I use my original chromecast in the morning and evening everyday, never had an issue.

    5GHz wifi and I believe slight performance increases
    And the new Chromecast Ultra supports 4K
