$46.30 shipping to my postcode is a deal breaker. Rather spend an extra $3.70 for a brand new one and have 2 years manufacturer warranty from Ebgames

Decent price for pickup, but shipping ruins it ($26 to Gold Coast).

What does it mean by "factory second"? damaged box/packaging? or damage/scratches on device?

    • It could be cosmetic scratches on the console.

  • Hmm, price seems decent but I'd like to know what their definition of 'factory second' means?

    What is Factory Seconds?

Most of our products are factory seconds, purchased from the manufacturers and might have cosmetic damage, that will vary between individual products. All factory second products at P &S electronics have been certified by the manufacturer’s technicians to be in 100% mechanical working order.

Factory Seconds can be classified as, but not restricted to, the following descriptions:

CARTON/BOX DAMAGED – Products in perfect working order with a torn or marked box or carton or products which have been unpacked and are missing the carton or packaging

EX-DISPLAY – Products in perfect working order which have been used for display purposes with or without original packaging

SCRATCH & DENT – Products in perfect working order that may have a cosmetic blemish such as a “Scratch or Dent” mainly incurred during transport.

This is the reason the products are sold at lower prices but still in good quality.

  • Please update: Good deal if you live local to one of the stores. v otherwise new Xbox one S 500gb can be had for under $300 new.

So, I'm guessing factory seconds would have to have some kind of cosmetic/physical defect? Do companies actually sell their products at a loss just because one of their packaging boxes is slightly damaged? If so, why? I mean, if the product itself is fine and in the same condition why lose money just because the box is damaged?

Just for anyone else might be worth having a read of this: concerning the dates of the posts are quite recent too, so doesn't give me much confidence they have changed.

Sorry OP, but I'm going to have to neg the deal because based on the above link, they sound pretty dodgy

TL;DR - some guy had to take them to court to get his money back

    • :/ Choice 1: chargeback credit card, choice 2: VCAT or whatever cat in your state. Going to court is kinda dumb lol.

$199 IMO still might be worth the risk for some people.

Wouldn't go near these clowns with a 40 foot pole. Users in here within the last 6 months got scammed by them & 1 forced them to into court where the company lost and had to pay the Ozbargainer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/110228

    Edit
User "Justkev" beat me to it & provided the same link.

    • not that i know the site but i looked through that thread and the only users complaining had their accounts created on the day of posting and only 2 posts each so i'd take their comments with a grain of salt

How is it suspicious that a lurker created an account to reply to a question that he had very relevant information on?

Problematic seller, sorry a neg this one

I paid $200 for my fifa 15 xbone close to a year and a half ago at the BigW sale, so for a seconds machine I would pay the extra bucks to get an S.

    Very cheap but watch out!

My friend lived a pure nightmare with these guys!

    Very risky!
