      Oh yeah! Probs 5 in stock though :/

        …. and be quick and lucky :)

  • Very tempting, would love a GTX1180TI though. Need for FPS hahahahahha

    • Wait till 2018 for GTX 1180TI mate.

        • +2

          what are you talking about…. TI is not a marketing term.

        • AMD Vega looks very interesting…..Paired with a good Freesync monitor this could save you hundreds

        • +5

          @kasp: In the high end, usually the *80Ti is based on the same GPU as the Titan of the series, so not really just marketing, its a different gpu..

        • +2

          Vega TI.

          Not sure you know what you're talking about.

          @ProspectiveDarkness:

          It was a joke gawd. Now let me get back to shredding fps using my amd skylake cpu and voodoo 2.

          @XeKToReX:
          Care to explain the 1050 ti then?

          The higher version of 1050 oh wait there is no 1050.

          Its just marketing to differentiate models. They could use X or extreme or whatever.

          @XeKToReX:

          Tbh dont really pay much attention to anything lower than 1060 but never saw a 1050 or a 1050 listed in anything figured they got rid of the model due to samsung.

          But anyways the 1050 ti isnt even the same tech as the 10 series and its built by samsung so who cares?

          The TI samsung :p

          @kasp:

          …what? Where are you even reading this crap?

          1050 and 1050ti are GP107 chips…the same architecture as the rest of the 10xx series..

          Do you mean the GPU's are built by Samsung? Because I'm pretty sure all Pascal GPU's are made by TSMC…

        • @XeKToReX: I think his just trolling… stop feeding him.

        • @ProjectZero: Yeah, seems that way.

          TSMC uses 16nm. 😃 The 1050 is made by samsung lol.

          While it meana nothing and I was having a bit of fun with it they are seriously using samsungs 14nm.

          Whoops replied to wrong person and can't edit.

        • @kasp: This is just untrue. The GTX 980 TI is 20-30% faster than the GTX 980.

        • Hopefully AMD placed some focus on energy efficiency and heat, which they seem to neglect in their processors too. I probably wouldn't opt for an AMD anyway since Nvidia has CUDA, but competition is good for the market.

          Edit: Just checked out the Vega. Hopefully it's actually worthwhile. AMD seem to throw around big numbers but their performance doesn't live up to the hype, more often than not. Looking at their processors specifically and the entire octa-core, huge GHz that pales in comparison to Intel's mid-tier consumer offerings. One can hope though.

        • @no not me:
          TI originally meant titanium now it means nothing. They just use it to differentiate incremental updates in models.

          As for AMD the 480 was good but the price retailers sold it for was stupid. If sold at rrp it was a good alt to the 1060.

          AMDs processing is better designed for dx12 and the vega and ryzen cpu certainly sounds promising but who knows it might be hype.

        • @kasp: Either way, let's hope Intel and Nvidia are stepping things up another notch. I'd say AMD will have some good CPUs. Jim Keller, but the guy who kickstarted Apple and their A* mobile SOCs was working at AMD on the new processor (Zen). It seems every processor design spec or series he has anything to do with is absolutely amazing, so it might mean big things for AMD. Let's hope, his track record is great, so I think AMD will pick it up.

          Don't really know much about their GPUs, like I said I need CUDA, but I'd be happy with anything that uses less power and thus produces less heat.

  • I don't know how true this is but apparently the inventory levels for the GTX1080 and GTX1070 are pretty high so expect more discounts soon to reduce the oversupply:

  • I got a keyboard from PCByte once through ebay and they sent me the wrong model and was unresponsive. Took a month to get a refund through ebay.

  • Good price

    I really do hope 1080s drop to $500 so I can pickup two

    • I'm holding out until CES when 1080TI and AMD Vega drops, then we should see a real drop in 1080s. Don't have any FPS games Im playing atm so won't miss the extra performance over xmas

      • +1

        same waiting for AMD wave.

    • If you are planning on SLI, i wouldn't bother, the performance of single card vs SLI based on guru3d is not impressive at all.

  • Is this worth me getting over the EVGA? I know I don't have the best chance in snagging it up on Shopping Express ($699) as there will only be 5 or so for sale on the 26th. I've been without a PC for 5 months and I'm dying.
    Any advice would be appreciated!

    • This model has a better cooler (but not the best) when compared to the EVGA's ACX 3.0, which has been pretty rubbish for the Pascal cards.

      That, along with the issues people have experienced with exploding EVGA cards have turned me off them for this generation. While its currently uncertain what the cause of this is (uncooled VRMs or just cheaper PCB components), EVGA has had to respond with free thermal pad mods and a BIOS update which spins the cooler fans a lot faster (leading to more noise).

      I would take the Gaming X.

  • Website getting hammered I can't load it… :)

  • Any chance of EVGA??

    • Wait until a new 34" IPS native 100hz Gsync panel with DP1.4 and HDMI 2.0 to drop then this monitor will fall below $1k

  • love MSI, first choice

  • does this include the watch dogs 2 code?

  • So over 24 hours ago I placed an order for this, no tracking information or idea what the status of my order is due to their system screwing up.

    Poor form PC Byte….

    • Hopefully after CES there will be some better offers from Local PC stores

    • Arrived today all good, great deal thanks again PCB.
